One hour ago....
General Bryan sat against his large seat, rocking his roller seat. Across his desk sat the Green Class teacher, Mr Kenry.
His green eyes shone brightly as he watched the General take out a file from one of his drawers. He had been summoned by him earlier today.
He had once worked with Bryan at Military Defense Force against the demons. Then he was referred to as the Samurai King. Bryan was referred to as Anchor.
His insane strength and ability to erase particles from existence was quite exciting. Then even he feared this man before him. He wasn’t surprised when he attained General rank.
"I heard you have sent your kids to hell." Bryan said casually.
Kenry laughed lightly. He still hadn’t lost his sense of humour.
"Yeah. Just decided to teach them what resides inside the portals. Besides they have spent a month here. It’s only justice to get them excited after all that has happened." Kenry said.
"You do know that with this your class will be a step ahead of other classes. And our Portal Festival would be starting soon. I expect you have candidates in mind." Bryan said as he found the file he was searching for.
"Haven’t exactly found who to chose. Judging by the fact that each gets three representatives, I actually had four persons in mind."
"Interesting, seems like those students have a lot to proof before next month runs out."
"I will agree with you."
A dull silence siezed the atmosphere. Both men knew how dangerous it was to send students into portals.
The last set which was sent, only exceptional students made it. Besides they were supposed to survive for 3 hours. With that they could build stamina and strength for the popular Portal Festival.
"You sure what happened to your class last year wouldn’t repeat itself again?" Bryan said.
"I don’t know. I managed to carve out the numbers of mini Regulars to about a dozen. Though the Boss is situated deep a tunnel."
"And the boss?"
"Didn’t touch it. That would close the portal. I just pray they asked to work together and defeat the Mini Regulars or at least survive." Kenry said and sighed.
"I see."
"You called me here. What for?"
"Yes. See this." General Bryan said and slid the file to Kenry.
"What’s this?"
"A letter from the Vampire Killer."
"Silas?"
The General nodded his head lightly. Kenry stared at the file for a while wondering what Silas had written that had to do with him.
"Why give me?"
"Just open it."
Kenry opened the file and saw the letter sealed with thick blood. It wasn’t broken. Kenry pulled it off, breaking the seal. With that he opened the letter.
This letter is as regards the quarantine we executed last two weeks. I examined about two hundred and sixty five students of which thirty Year One students were vampires but they were freshly blooded.
I was able to revert that of twenty seven. The rest I sent to the execution roof. But I also found eight Year Two students were vampires and among them was Romeo, son of Vale.
The Progenitor you find isn’t in the ranks of the upper classes. If there is, then you have to find it faat enough. But I’m here to tell you to inform about the fact that a Vampire Progenitor resides in the ranks of Year One. I will advice you don’t harm him, his has an incredible amount strength that you don’t want to deal with.
Besides that someone is protecting him, he may not be noticed now but he isn’t purely human. He is a Hellborn. One of the first we have seen in life after the destruction of Hell’s Army.
I imply that you, General Bryan share this with only Kenry the Samurai King.
From the Vampire Killer.
"..."
Kenry stared at the letter reading a second time. The amount information he had received was more than he could consume at once.
"What do you say about that?"
"I will keep a close on my students. Probably one of the two persons are under my nose."
"That makes me ask. Do you have a suspect?"
"No. Not any. Besides —"
RING!!! RING!!! RING!!!
An alarm rang in the office and Bryan opened a tab and from the hologram, they could both see Lady Valandi standing in front of the portal.
"Get that fat ass of Kenry down here. His portal is closing." She said snapping the connection immediately.
"How’s that possible?" Kenry muttered in shock.
Now.....
The portal was sealed and outside numerous students stood in silence. Lady Valandi walked through them. Behind her were nurses carrying Cassie, Lora, Yelisa and Xero.
Though some students sustained some injuries, theirs were not as grace as Xero’s teams. They could still walk down to the hospital fir treatment.
Just then, Kenry appeared out of no where. Shock etched on his face as soon as he arrived. Valandi stared at him coldly.
"Did anyone die?" He muttered to no one in particular.
Then he used his eyes to count his students. They were complete except that four of them were carried away on stretchers. Well that was a small price compared to losing the entire class.
"How was the boss defeated?" He asked finally.
"We don’t know. None of those standing did it. So I guess its one of this injured ones. Once we are done with their treatment, we would inform you for you to question them." Valandi said.
"Thanks."
Valandi paused in her tracks as she got closer to him and their eyes met for a second.
"Don’t thank me. I’m just doing my job." She said and left him staring at his students.
"Hate this lady." He muttered to himself.
With that he guided the injured students to the hospital. Then he sent others back their dorms.
A sense of relief washed over him. He hadn’t lost any his students in the portal this time. He had initially thought that he would Xero considering he was a Level 1.
A smile tugged on his lips as he walked towards his basement. He could rest. His second biggest hurdle for the term had been crossed.
Next was the Portal Festival.
