I Am Already A Queen

Chapter 104: Her New Room

Chapter 104: Chapter 104: Her New Room

Listening to her sharp words, Jiang Yanna’s eyes narrowed slightly as she began quietly calculating her next move.

Qiao Meixia paused at the garage exit and glanced back at the pair over her shoulder.

"Just a gentle reminder... this garage is equipped with surveillance." Qiao Meixia added nonchalantly. "Both the cameras you know about and the ones you don’t."

Jiang Yanna and Jiang Chinan’s expressions stiffened. Instinctively, they looked up and scanned the surrounding rafters and corners of the garage, suddenly growing wary and anxious about whether hidden lenses were recording their every move.

Just as the atmosphere turned suffocatingly tense, the quiet hum of an engine filled the driveway, and Jiang Suhan’s car pulled into the garage. He was surprised to see both Jiang Yanna and Jiang Chinan standing near the superbike looking agitated. He stepped out of his vehicle and adjusted his suit jacket, looking at the two of them with a faint frown.

"What are you two doing standing around here?" Jiang Suhan asked.

"Eldest Brother, do you know whose superbike this actually is?" Jiang Chinan asked loudly, pointing at the dark purple Ducati.

"It belongs to Qiaoqiao." Jiang Suhan answered matter-of-factly. "Why do you ask?"

"Did you secretly buy it for her?!" Jiang Chinan gritted his teeth, his jealousy barely contained.

"No." Jiang Suhan shook his head smoothly. "I did not."

"Then how on earth does she have a bike like this?!" Jiang Chinan pressed, his fists clenching tightly.

"That question..." Jiang Suhan glanced at him coolly before turning to leave, "...is something you should ask her yourself."

Truthfully, while at his corporate office earlier that afternoon, Jiang Suhan had personally instructed his assistant to pull up detailed market data on that specific motorcycle model. The official starting price for a base Ducati Panigale V4 R sat at roughly half a million dollars, and that was merely for the standard factory red edition. Ordering a custom metallic paint finish required an exclusive factory request and a staggering additional fee. That was not even factoring in the custom forged wheels and high-end carbon-fibre modifications installed across the frame.

Right now, serious doubts were taking root in his mind regarding the accuracy of the investigation report his family had received before bringing Qiao Meixia back.

According to those official background checks, Qiao Meixia had spent her entire life raised in an obscure, impoverished orphanage in B City before being brought to the capital. There was not a single detail in that dossier suggesting she possessed the astronomical financial backing required to purchase and modify a superbike worth more than most luxury vehicles.

Yet, the proof was sitting right in front of his eyes. And Qiao Meixia had casually ridden it through the gates of the Jiang Family Estate herself without a care in the world.

...

The large commercial delivery lorry finally arrived at the gates of the Jiang Family Residence, carrying the bespoke furniture that Jiang Suhan and Qiao Meixia had personally selected and purchased three days prior. Jiang Suhan took complete charge of the operation, personally directing the moving crew on where to place each individual piece and ensuring every detail aligned seamlessly with Qiao Meixia’s specific aesthetic preferences.

After two hours of meticulous labour, the renovation of the room was finally complete.

Jiang Suhan appeared significantly more thrilled than Qiao Meixia, the actual owner of the room. Qiao Meixia walked slowly around the space, inspecting the layout before giving a quiet, approving nod. She felt genuinely relieved that Jiang Suhan had prioritised her personal taste over his own arbitrary ideas, refusing to impose what he thought a young woman’s room should look like.

Jiang Yanna also stepped up to peek inside the newly finished suite. This expansive, luxurious room had originally been designated for her, but it now belonged entirely to Qiao Meixia. Jiang Chinan peered over her shoulder as well. Even he had to admit internally that the room looked magnificent, though his stubborn pride meant he would never voice such a compliment in front of Qiao Meixia.

"Qiaoqiao, from this moment on, this is your permanent room in this house." Jiang Suhan said with a warm, assuring smile. "No one will ever take it away from you."

Jiang Suhan had spoken those words as a casual, comforting reassurance to his sister. However, Jiang Yanna took the statement entirely to heart, instantly twisting his words into a personal attack.

"Eldest Brother, if you truly dislike me, you can just say it straight to my face." Jiang Yanna choked out, her voice trembling as she fought back a theatrical flood of tears. "You did not have to use an occasion like this to make a point..."

Without waiting for a response, Jiang Yanna spun around and fled down the hallway toward her own bedroom.

Jiang Suhan stood frozen in absolute bewilderment. He had not been targeting anyone, let alone Jiang Yanna, when he made that remark. He was completely baffled as to how she could have interpreted a simple welcome as a malicious jab.

"Eldest Brother, how could you be so cruel? Sister Yanna has looked up to you for sixteen years! She is your sister, too!" Jiang Chinan glared venomously at Jiang Suhan, his fists clenched at his sides. His furious gaze then snapped toward Qiao Meixia. "And you... why on earth did you ever have to come back here? Why didn’t you just stay away, or die earlier? Ever since you returned, this family has known nothing but chaos and misery. I genuinely hate you."

Having spat out those venomous words, Jiang Chinan turned on his heel and stormed off down the corridor.

Jiang Suhan and Qiao Meixia stood in silence, blinking in disbelief as they tried to process the abrupt, hostile outburst from the two younger siblings.

"Just ignore them. Go on inside." Jiang Suhan sighed after a heavy moment.

"Hmm..." Qiao Meixia gave a calm nod.

"I am heading back to my room, too. I will see you at dinner." Jiang Suhan added, turning toward his own room.

"Hmm..." Qiao Meixia responded softly.

Jiang Suhan walked into his room, which happened to be situated right next to Qiao Meixia’s new room. Meanwhile, Qiao Meixia headed back to her former temporary room to gather all her personal belongings. After transferring everything over, she stood in the doorway of her new room and frowned slightly.

It was clear she needed to install a proper lock on the door. She felt deeply uncomfortable leaving her private items unprotected without securing the space properly. She made a mental note to have Butler Jun arrange for an advanced electronic keypad lock, specifically a model that allowed her to register her fingerprint as the primary access key.

With that sorted, Qiao Meixia grabbed a clean towel and headed into the bathroom. Fifteen minutes later, she emerged refreshed, having changed into a comfortable set of casual loungewear as the time for dinner approached.

Stepping out into the hallway, Qiao Meixia found that Jiang Suhan’s door was also sliding open at the exact same moment.

"Qiaoqiao, let’s head down together." Jiang Suhan suggested gently.

"Hmm..." Qiao Meixia nodded.

As the two of them walked side-by-side toward the grand staircase, they crossed paths with Jiang Chinan and Jiang Yanna, who were emerging from their respective rooms.

"Eldest Brother, about what happened earlier..." Jiang Yanna began, her eyes glistening with unshed tears as she looked up at Jiang Suhan with a deeply remorseful expression. "I am so sorry I overreacted. Can you please forgive me? I truly did not mean to snap at you like that."

"It’s fine." Jiang Suhan replied indifferently, not wanting to make a mountain out of a molehill.

Jiang Yanna then turned her tear-stained face toward Qiao Meixia. "Sister Meixia, I was just... letting my insecurities get the better of me because of how much Eldest Brother dotes on you and protects you. I’m sorry for my behaviour earlier."

"Hmm..." Qiao Meixia responded with a flat, indifferent nod.

"Hey! Are you seriously going to act like that when Sister Yanna has humbled herself to apologise to a country bumpkin like you?" Jiang Chinan snarled, stepping forward to defend her.

"JIANG CHINAN!" Jiang Suhan’s voice boomed down the hallway like a thunderclap.

The sheer fury in his tone immediately forced Jiang Chinan to clamp his mouth shut. When Jiang Suhan used that specific tone, it signalled that he had reached the absolute limit of his patience.

Jiang Yanna immediately pulled Jiang Chinan.

"Chinan, stop it right now! Apologise to Sister Meixia immediately." Jiang Yanna hastily reached out and grabbed her brother’s arm.

"Why should I ever apologise to someone like her? Never!" Jiang Chinan violently shook off Jiang Yanna’s hand, his face contorted with anger.
