I Am Already A Queen

Chapter 74: Jiang Yanna Was Sad

Chapter 74: Chapter 74: Jiang Yanna Was Sad

This time, however, she had gone far beyond simply stealing commissions from her peers. She had actually possessed the audacity to commit fraud against a top-tier VVIP client. Her unchecked greed had officially crossed a fatal, unforgivable line.

"You would be wise to leave quietly right now." Manager Kuang looked down at her expressionlessly, pulling his arm away. "Otherwise, I will initiate a full forensic audit into every single one of your past sales records over the last three years."

His voice dropped to a threatening, freezing frequency.

"And if my accounting team discovers even a single irregularity, I will personally file corporate fraud charges, sue you for every penny, and ensure you serve real time." Manager Kuang added.

Hearing those words, the sales assistant completely lost all remaining courage to continue begging. If Manager Kuang genuinely opened up her past ledger records, he would undoubtedly uncover the countless other times she had successfully pulled off similar schemes. She simply did not possess the financial resources to legally defend herself or compensate for the losses. Gathering her things and disappearing quietly was her only survival option.

Seeing her sudden, terrified silence, Manager Kuang became even more firmly convinced that Jiang Suhan’s initial suspicion was entirely correct. This was a serial offender. Without another word, he silently resolved to audit every single transaction she had ever touched.

...

Meanwhile, after a quiet drive, Jiang Suhan and Qiao Meixia finally arrived back at the sprawling, opulent Jiang Residence. The two of them walked through the grand double doors together.

"Eldest Brother..." Jiang Yanna, who had been anxiously waiting in the foyer, immediately greeted him with her signature, beautifully gentle smile.

Qiao Meixia did not even slow her pace by a fraction of a second. She walked straight past Jiang Yanna as if she were nothing more than a transparent pane of glass, heading directly upstairs toward her temporary room.

"What is it?" Jiang Suhan asked smoothly.

His sharp gaze remained fixed straight ahead, tracking Qiao Meixia’s upward path, without even sparing Jiang Yanna a single glance.

Jiang Yanna noticed the blatant dismissal instantly. She unconsciously bit her lower lip so hard the colour vanished, a wave of profound, bitter resentment welling up from the depths of her heart.

"Eldest Brother..." Jiang Yanna’s voice instantly adjusted, taking on a soft, slightly aggrieved, and pitiable tremble. "Why... why have you been treating me with such coldness lately?"

Only then did Jiang Suhan finally halt his footsteps, turning around with a perfectly calm, neutral expression to look at her.

"Hmm?" Jiang Suhan looked genuinely, logically puzzled by her emotional outburst. "Treating you like what?"

"You are acting as though Qiao Meixia is the only sister you have in this entire world." Jiang Yanna’s voice carried a heavy, fragile layer of deep emotional hurt, her eyes glistening.

Jiang Suhan looked at her beautiful, tearful face with complete, unbothered composure before replying without a single shred of hesitation.

"Isn’t that simply the objective truth?" Jiang Suhan paused briefly for a heavy beat, his tone entirely level as he stated the unyielding facts. "She is, by blood and by law, my one and only biological sister."

The exact moment those cold, factual words pierced Jiang Yanna’s ears, real tears instantly spilt over her lashes.

"Eldest Brother..." Jiang Yanna sobbed softly, pressing a hand to her chest. "I am your sister too. Even if we do not share the exact same bloodline, we have lived under this exact same roof and shared our lives since we were small children. Does that mean absolutely nothing to you?"

Jiang Suhan simply stood there in the grand foyer, watching her weep with an analytical, detached expression. He made absolutely no physical move to step closer or offer a single word of comfort. To his logical, corporate mind, sentimentality did not rewrite reality.

At that exact moment, Feng Lan heard the sound of Jiang Yanna’s distinct sobbing echoing from the main living room and hurried over, her maternal instincts instantly flaring into anger as she automatically assumed Qiao Meixia had caused another malicious problem.

"Qiao Me—"

However, the harsh name died abruptly in her throat when she realised Qiao Meixia was nowhere to be seen, and Jiang Yanna was standing alone in front of a stoic Jiang Suhan. She looked back and forth between her son and her favourite daughter in utter confusion.

"What on earth is happening here? Why is Yanna crying?" Feng Lan asked.

"I have no idea." Jiang Suhan answered indifferently, completely detached from the emotional display. "You can ask her yourself."

Without waiting for his mother to utter another syllables, he smoothly turned around on his heel and walked away.

"Jiang Suhan! Stand right there!" Feng Lan shouted after him, her voice shrill with rising maternal fury.

But Jiang Suhan did not even bother slowing his pace or looking back. He calmly walked toward the grand staircase, his broad shoulders disappearing up the steps toward the second floor without a single hint of regret.

Watching his unyielding, complete departure, Jiang Yanna let out a sharp gasp and burst into even louder, more heartbreaking sobs. Feng Lan immediately wrapped her arms around Jiang Yanna, pulling her tightly into a protective embrace while gently patting her back to soothe her.

"Alright... Alright, my sweet girl, don’t cry anymore. Mom is right here." Feng Lan gently stroked Jiang Yanna’s soft hair, her heart breaking for her. "Tell Mom... what did he say to you? Why are you crying like this?"

Jiang Yanna buried her face into Feng Lan’s shoulder, looking up with big, tear-filled, devastatingly pitiable eyes.

"Mom..." Jiang Yanna choked out between trembling sobs, delivering her carefully calculated psychological strike. "Is it... is it truly because I am not your biological daughter... that Eldest Brother doesn’t consider me his family anymore?"
