I Am Already A Queen
Chapter 78: Never Actually Received A Formal Education BeforeChapter 78: Chapter 78: Never Actually Received A Formal Education Before
Under the soft, golden glow of the strategically placed evening landscape lights, the entire residence looked profoundly elegant and picturesque, resembling a high-end painting.
The faint, sweet fragrance of night-blooming jasmine drifted gently through the cool evening breeze, soothing the senses.
The two biological siblings walked side by side along the stone path in a comfortable, unhurried silence.
After spending the entire afternoon together in the city, Jiang Suhan had gradually become entirely accustomed to Qiao Meixia’s quiet, low-profile personality. He had discovered a fascinating nuance about his younger sister. Even though she was naturally taciturn, emotionally guarded, and fiercely indifferent to the world, she was remarkably straightforward. She would never play mind games. She would answer any question directly and honestly whenever she was asked.
"Qiaoqiao," Jiang Suhan suddenly called out, his deep voice cutting through the rustle of the leaves as he glanced down at her profile. "Do you happen to have a favourite flower?"
"Wisteria." Qiao Meixia answered flatly, without a single millisecond of hesitation.
Jiang Suhan was slightly surprised for a brief moment, blinking in wonder. Given her absolute, unwavering preference for pitch black, charcoal grey, and muted, dark colours, he had honestly expected her to name something dark, rare, or mysterious, perhaps a black rose or a thorny nightshade. He had genuinely not anticipated that she would harbour a fondness for the elegant, romantic wisteria flower.
Then again, as he visualised the magnificent, cascading clusters of vibrant purple blossoms hanging gracefully from an arbour, he suddenly felt that the flower somehow suited her perfectly. It was beautiful, detached, and carried a quiet, ancient strength that couldn’t be easily broken.
"Wisteria... I see. That’s a beautiful choice." Jiang Suhan nodded repeatedly, an affectionate, radiant smile spreading across his handsome face.
Meanwhile, inside the hyper-efficient mind of the young CEO, he had already begun mapping out an executive blueprint. The very next morning, the absolute first thing on his corporate agenda would be to contact the city’s premier professional landscaping firm. He would have them immediately source mature, high-grade wisteria trees and construct a massive, luxury custom trellis right in the centre of the garden.
If his little sister liked wisteria flowers, then as her elder brother, he would make absolute sure she could walk out of her bedroom and enjoy a sea of purple blossoms whenever she pleased.
Beside him, Qiao Meixia remained completely unaware that her casual, one-word answer had already prompted Jiang Suhan to aggressively fund another massive real estate renovation project solely for her comfort. She simply continued walking quietly along the cobblestone path, her hands tucked casually into her pockets as she enjoyed the cool night air in peaceful, undisturbed silence.
...
The next morning, Jiang Yanna and Jiang Chinan smoothly climbed into the family car and rode off to school, conveniently forgetting all about Qiao Meixia’s existence once again. She stood on the driveway, watching the vehicle disappear down the road, and was just about to pull out her phone to call for a ride when a warm, familiar voice called out from behind her.
"Qiaoqiao, let’s head to school together today."
It was Jiang Suhan. He was walking toward her, offering Qiao Meixia a reassuring, bright smile.
At the same exact time, Jiang Lukang also stepped out of the front doors, walking a few paces behind Jiang Suhan with a critical look on his face.
"Suhan, why on earth do you need to personally escort her to school today? Wasn’t her official registration completely settled yesterday? And you, Meixia, why didn’t you just ride to school in the car with your younger siblings?" Jiang Lukang questioned, looking at both of them with a deep frown.
"Oh... Mom probably did not fill you in on the details yet, Dad. The vice principal explicitly stated that Qiaoqiao’s enrollment process would only be fully finalised today." Jiang Suhan answered calmly. "As for riding in the same car as Yanna and Chinan... I am highly afraid that those two are leaving her out on purpose."
Jiang Lukang’s frown deepened at the implication. However, instead of addressing the blatant favouritism, he chose not to say anything more on the matter.
"Fine. You can send her yourself today." Jiang Lukang stated coldly, completely shifting the blame onto Meixia. "But tomorrow, Meixia, try to be faster and make sure you ride in the car together with your siblings. You are probably just being far too slow in the mornings. That’s undoubtedly why they keep leaving you behind."
Without waiting even a single second for either of them to offer a response, Jiang Lukang turned on his heel, climbed into his own luxury car, and drove away.
Jiang Suhan silently watched Jiang Lukang’s retreating car until it completely cleared the front gates. He then let out a soft sigh and turned back to Qiao Meixia, his expression softening.
"Let’s go." Jiang Suhan said to Qiao Meixia gently.
"Hmm..." Qiao Meixia nodded quietly, her expression unreadable.
With that settled, the two of them made their way to the school campus. Upon arrival, they headed straight into the administration building and walked directly up to the vice principal’s office. When they politely asked the secretary sitting at the front desk whether the vice principal was currently available in his office, the secretary peered up from her computer and professionally requested their names and the specific purpose of their visit. They answered clearly, giving her their names and briefly explaining the enrollment situation.
The moment those names left their mouths, the secretary’s professional demeanour instantly shifted. She immediately knew that the vice principal had been anxiously waiting for these exact two individuals. She promptly informed them that the vice principal had been expecting them all morning and urgently gestured for them to enter the room without delay.
Jiang Suhan was deeply confused by her sudden, urgent attitude, but he pushed his lingering confusion aside for the moment. He stepped up and knocked firmly on the heavy wooden door. Only after they clearly heard a voice from within telling them to come in did he turn the handle and enter.
However, the moment they stepped over the threshold, both of them were genuinely surprised to find that the office was not empty. There were several other prominent, older individuals gathered in the room as well.
Upon seeing them, Vice Principal Zhang Yong immediately stood up from his desk and warmly invited both of them to come inside and take a seat.
"Are you perhaps in the middle of an important meeting, Teacher Zhang?" Jiang Suhan asked politely, casting a wary glance at the distinguished-looking people packed into the office. "If you are busy, the two of us can easily wait outside in the hallway."
"No... No... Absolutely not! Actually..." Vice Principal Zhang Yong had just opened his mouth to explain when he was suddenly and abruptly cut off by one of the visitors.
"You are the student who came in and answered that specialised exam paper yesterday afternoon, aren’t you?" An old man with a thick, greying beard demanded, his eyes instantly locking onto Qiao Meixia.
Following his lead, the other academic figures in the room also turned their intense gazes toward Qiao Meixia, though wide, thoroughly impressed smiles quickly broke out across their faces.
"Hmm..." Qiao Meixia nodded calmly, entirely unfazed by the sudden attention.
"Where exactly did you receive your schooling before this? Which prestigious academy did you transfer from?" The same bearded old man asked again, leaning forward in his chair with immense curiosity.
"I have never actually received a formal education before." Qiao Meixia stated simply, her tone entirely even.
The moment her blunt answer echoed through the quiet office, the gathered academics were stunned into a brief silence. They quickly exchanged frantic, disbelieving glances before immediately erupting into a loud, excited chatter among themselves, completely ignoring the vice principal.
"She has never received a single day of formal education before?!"
"Good heavens... that is absolutely impressive."
"Impressive? No! Are you blind? That is not just impressive, that is the mark of a pure, unadulterated genius!"
"Yeah, you are right. A girl with that kind of raw cognitive capability should not be wasting her time sitting in a high school classroom. She should be directly attached to a laboratory doing high-level research!"
"I entirely agree. The way her mind solves complex problems is definitely not at a standard high school level. Keeping her here would be an absolute waste of talent! She needs to enrol on the university."
The completely unexpected turn of the discussion left both Jiang Suhan and Qiao Meixia slightly stunned, with Jiang Suhan feeling particularly blindsided. He looked at the tightly packed group of elderly men in utter confusion.
