Chapter 95: Chapter 95: Dark Purple Ducati Panigale V4 R
"I am not particularly hungry right now." Qiao Meixia stated flatly.
"Alright then... I will buy a few gourmet sandwiches for you while we are there." Han Mengyu said considerately. "You can eat them later whenever you get hungry."
By that time, Yin Junjie had already vanished from his desk and disappeared from the school grounds again.
Qiao Meixia was just about to settle down to take another short nap when her phone suddenly vibrated against her desk. She glanced at the lit caller ID screen. It was Jiang Suhan. She swiped her finger across the glass screen to answer the call.
"Hmm..." Qiao Meixia responded quietly after connecting the line.
"Qiaoqiao, are you eating a proper lunch right now? Please don’t skip your meals." Jiang Suhan’s gentle, protective voice reminded her over the speaker.
"I know." Qiao Meixia replied concisely.
"By the way, after school hours end today, you can stop by the Suyu Clothes Shop downtown." Jiang Suhan immediately got straight to the point. "Auntie Chenxi called me earlier to let me know that your custom Suyu high school uniforms are fully tailored and ready for pickup. Do you want to go collect them yourself, or should I dispatch an assistant to deliver them to you?"
"I will go and pick them up myself." Qiao Meixia stated without hesitation.
"Alright. I will inform Auntie Chenxi that you will be dropping by the boutique right after school." Jiang Suhan replied smoothly.
"Hmm." Qiao Meixia replied.
"Then I will hang up now." Jiang Suhan stated.
"Okay." Qiao Meixia ended the call and tossed her phone back into her bag.
...
When the final bell rang and the school day officially concluded, Qiao Meixia gathered her things and walked steadily toward the main school gate. Her pace was noticeably faster than usual because the private ride service she had pre-booked was already waiting outside the perimeter.
The moment Jiang Yanna spotted Qiao Meixia’s striking figure heading for the exit, she immediately raised her voice to call out to her.
"Sister Meixia!" Jiang Yanna called out.
However, Qiao Meixia neither slowed her steady stride nor turned her head around. She continued walking forward as though she had heard nothing more than background noise.
Jiang Yanna slowly lowered her head, putting on a deeply heartbroken, tearful expression after being so blatantly ignored by her "twin sister" in front of everyone.
"Is there really anything in this world worth crying over every single day?" Ruan Jiaojiao happened to witness the entire dramatic scene from nearby and could not help commenting with a quiet sneer.
"Yeah, exactly. Maybe Meixia just has something genuinely urgent to attend to." Han Mengyu added, crossing her arms.
"Jiang Yanna, you can always talk to your ’twin sister’ at home anyway." Chen Xiaoqing happened to be passing by the gate when she overheard their conversation and immediately joined in with an amused grin. "Don’t tell me your ’twin sister’ is not even living under the same roof as your family? Now that would be extremely strange. If she is truly your twin sister, shouldn’t the two of you be living together? I distinctly remember you telling everyone before that your twin sister was staying out in the countryside due to her fragile health."
Chen Xiaoqing was fully prepared to push her sharp questioning further, but she was abruptly cut off.
"That’s enough, Chen Xiaoqing!" Jin Zexi stepped forward, glaring at her fiercely as he shielded Jiang Yanna once again.
Chen Xiaoqing merely offered a mocking smile before casually walking away from the area. However, because many nearby students had clearly overheard the spicy interaction, whisperings and subtle pointing immediately began spreading throughout the gathering crowd like wildfire.
Feeling deeply embarrassed and exposed, Jiang Yanna turned to Jin Zexi and softly announced that she would be heading home early today. Jin Zexi did not think too deeply of her abrupt departure and simply gave an understanding nod.
Jiang Yanna climbed into the luxury back seat of the waiting family car. Not long afterwards, Jiang Chinan also slid inside, slamming the door shut. The exact second his eyes fell upon Jiang Yanna’s visibly pale, upset expression, his temper immediately flared with intense concern.
"Sister Yanna, what on earth is wrong?" Jiang Chinan asked aggressively, leaning over.
"It’s nothing, Chinan..." Jiang Yanna shook her head weakly, looking down at her lap.
"Were you bullied by someone at the gates? Who dares to disrespect you in this school? Tell me right now! I will go and beat them up this instant!" Jiang Chinan demanded, his face turning red with anger.
"No... Chinan, please..." Jiang Yanna forced a fragile, heartbroken smile, her eyes sparkling with tears. "You know I don’t like making a scene."
"Fine... I will listen to you, Sister Yanna." Jiang Chinan groaned, forcing himself to nod.
Even though Jiang Chinan continued casually chatting with his sister for the remainder of the drive, deep down, he had already begun formulating a dark, vengeful plan in his heart to handle whoever had dared to upset her.
Meanwhile, Qiao Meixia finally arrived at the secluded perimeter location where her designated logistics team had delivered the transport crate.
"Young Miss, your motorcycle has arrived. You may conduct your personal inspection now." One of the black-suited logistics team members stated, offering a deep, respectful bow.
"Okay. Bring it out." Qiao Meixia commanded flatly.
The team immediately wheeled the machine out from the back of the sleek transport truck. The dark purple Ducati Panigale V4 R looked absolutely mesmerising, its glossy, custom paint shimmering brilliantly and menacingly under the bright afternoon sunlight.
Qiao Meixia slowly circled the Italian superbike, her sharp, experienced eyes meticulously inspecting every single millimetre of the carbon-fibre bodywork for even the slightest microscopic flaw. Completely satisfied with its exterior condition, she straddled the machine, turned the ignition, and gently revved the throttle.
The high-revving, powerful engine instantly roared to life with a deep, thunderous, and aggressive growl that shook the surrounding air. The idle sound was buttery smooth. The throttle response was absolute perfection.
"Hmm... It arrived in pristine condition. Excellent work." Qiao Meixia nodded in quiet approval.
"Thank you, Young Miss! Please don’t forget to drop a five-star review on our private portal." The logistics team leader said with a polite, relieved smile.
"Hmm..." Qiao Meixia gave a small nod.
She retrieved her purple-black helmet, fastened the chinstrap securely, and swung her long legs effortlessly over the superbike before blasting down the road. She kept in mind Jiang Suhan’s reminder to stop by the exclusive Suyu Clothes Shop to collect her tailored school uniforms.
As she navigated through the city traffic, the roaring, intoxicating rumble of the Ducati V4 R engine instantly drew the eyes of countless pedestrians and passing luxury vehicle drivers. Dozens of people subconsciously turned their heads to catch a glimpse of the striking, million-dollar superbike weaving smoothly through the lanes.
Their collective shock only deepened when they caught a glance at the rider’s slender frame, realising that the pilot of such a monstrous machine was actually a young, cool girl.
Not long afterwards, Qiao Meixia pulled up outside the high-end facade of the Suyu Clothes Shop. She parked the dark purple Ducati neatly at the curb, removed her helmet, and pushed open the glass entrance doors. She entered the Suyu Clothes Shop.
The exact moment she stepped into the serene, aromatic interior of the boutique, her gaze instinctively landed on a handsome man sitting in an advanced electric wheelchair near the floor-to-ceiling display window. Their eyes met briefly in the quiet space.
After a single, fleeting glance, Qiao Meixia calmly broke eye contact, stepping directly toward the central service counter with her usual indifferent demeanour. However, Yin Chenxi was nowhere to be seen behind the counter.
"You need to ring the bell." A smooth, deep male voice suddenly echoed from the side window area.
Qiao Meixia raised an eyebrow slightly, turning her head toward him.
"Auntie Chenxi is currently working in the tailoring workshop at the back. You will need to ring the brass bell on the desk to let her know a customer has arrived." The man in the electric wheelchair explained politely, his dark eyes observing her with quiet intrigue.
"Oh..." Qiao Meixia nodded lightly.
She picked up the small service bell on the counter and tapped it once. A short while later, rhythmic footsteps echoed from the rear hallway, accompanied by a familiar, vibrant female voice.
"Little Jiu, why are you ringing the desk bell? You could have just walked inside to the workshop to find me..." Yin Chenxi’s voice came to an abrupt halt the second her eyes landed on Qiao Meixia standing tall by the counter.
