Chapter 96: Chapter 96: Asked About Qiao Meixia
Yin Chenxi broke into a warm, genuine smile. "Oh... It’s you, Meixia! Welcome! You’re here to collect your tailored school uniforms, right?"
"Yes." Qiao Meixia nodded.
"Give me just one moment. I will head back and bring them out for you right away." With that, Yin Chenxi vanished through the workshop doors once again.
A peaceful silence settled over the boutique once more. Qiao Meixia casually pulled out her phone, checking her encrypted network notifications while waiting. About five minutes later, Yin Chenxi returned carrying a large, premium paper shopping bag filled with structured garments.
"Here you go, dear." Yin Chenxi placed the heavy bag on the counter.
"How much do I need to pay for the tailoring?" Qiao Meixia asked, reaching into her pocket.
"Huh?" Yin Chenxi blinked in surprise before immediately understanding Qiao Meixia’s blunt independence. She quickly shook her head with a soft laugh. "You don’t have to pay a single cent. Your eldest brother already settled the entire invoice in advance."
"Oh... I see." Qiao Meixia nodded.
She then unceremoniously opened the large shopping bag and carefully pulled out the neatly pressed uniforms. One by one, with practised, surgical precision, she folded the high-end fabrics into incredibly tight, compact squares before carefully sliding them into her black backpack.
"What on earth are you doing, Meixia?" Yin Chenxi asked, watching her actions with utter curiosity.
"I am packing the uniforms into my backpack. I commuted here on my motorcycle today." Qiao Meixia explained matter-of-factly, zipping her bag closed. "It is far more practical and secure to transport them this way than attempting to hang onto a paper shopping bag while riding."
Yin Chenxi naturally assumed Qiao Meixia had arrived on an ordinary, modest scooter equipped with a small front basket. Although she found the young girl’s hyper-practical mindset slightly unconventional for high-society standards, she did not overthink the matter and simply let her proceed as she pleased.
"I am heading out now. As for the remaining seasonal sets, please have them delivered directly to the main Jiang Residence." Qiao Meixia stated, slinging her heavy backpack over her shoulders.
"Alright. I will make a formal note for our delivery team." Yin Chenxi nodded warmly.
Qiao Meixia gave a polite nod in return before turning on her heel and exiting the boutique. She stepped up to her dark purple superbike, putting on her helmet.
Inside the shop, the young man sitting by the window in the electric wheelchair immediately gestured for Yin Chenxi to step over.
"Auntie Chenxi." The man in the electric wheelchair called out.
"Hmm? What is it?" Yin Chenxi asked.
"Come over here and look at this for a second." The man in the electric wheelchair stated
Yin Chenxi walked over to the window display and looked outside. The exact second her eyes caught sight of Qiao Meixia straddling the roaring, dark purple Ducati Panigale V4 R and blasting down the avenue like a professional racer, she finally understood why the girl had insisted on aggressively stuffing those expensive uniforms directly into her backpack rather than carrying the shopping bag.
"...Well, no wonder." Yin Chenxi murmured with an amused, affectionate smile.
"Who is she?" The man in the electric wheelchair suddenly asked, his eyes tracking the disappearing purple blur with an uncharacteristic intensity.
Yin Chenxi looked down at him in genuine surprise before a teasing, playful smirk spread across her face.
"Oh? Is our stubborn Little Jiu actually expressing an interest in a girl for the first time in his life?" Yin Chenxi said with a teasing smile.
"Auntie Chenxi, I merely asked for her identity." The man sighed helplessly, rubbing his temples. "It’s not as though I am planning to marry her on the spot."
The young man resting in the wheelchair was none other than Yin Jiuqi. He had simply dropped by the boutique today to pay a casual visit to his aunt.
"Well, can you blame me? Normally, you don’t even bother sparing a second glance or asking a single question about any young lady you cross paths with." Yin Chenxi chuckled softly, crossing her arms.
"I am simply curious." Yin Jiuqi looked thoughtfully in the direction where the Ducati’s engine roar was fading into the distance. "You mentioned the Jiang Family earlier... Is she from the specific Jiang Family we know?"
"That’s right. She is the Jiang Family’s long-lost biological daughter who was only recently brought back home... Qiao Meixia." Yin Chenxi gave a slow, meaningful nod.
"Oh... So she is the one." Yin Jiuqi narrowed his dark eyes thoughtfully, a sharp flicker of interest passing through them.
"Wait a minute..." Yin Chenxi suddenly frowned as another realisation struck her. "If I remember correctly, our family has a long-standing marriage contract with the Jiang Family, and the designated heir who is supposed to fulfil it is you."
She slowly turned her head to look at Yin Jiuqi, realisation gradually dawning across her face.
"What? Is the Jiang Family actually trying to..." Yin Chenxi trailed off mid-sentence, unable to bring herself to finish as the obvious, scheming implication became painfully clear.
Yin Jiuqi merely smiled faintly, the corners of his handsome lips curling into an amused, enigmatic grin.
"Well... let’s wait and see how things unfold." Yin Jiuqi chuckled softly, his tone completely unbothered.
Yin Chenxi studied his calm expression for a moment before shaking her head helplessly with a quiet sigh. She knew her brilliant nephew far too well. Whenever he smiled in that specific, languid manner, it meant he had already begun formulating a complex counter-strategy in his mind.
...
Meanwhile, as she wove her dark purple superbike through the dense evening traffic, Qiao Meixia’s phone suddenly vibrated inside her helmet. The Bluetooth HUD display flashed Yang Mingxia’s caller ID.
Without slowing her speed down in the slightest, she tapped the answer control mounted neatly on her motorcycle’s handlebar. Her custom helmet was equipped with built-in noise-cancelling speakers and an encrypted microphone, allowing her to take private calls with absolute clarity while riding.
"My dear Meixia, where on earth are you right now?" Yang Mingxia asked cheerfully over the line.
"I am currently riding my motorcycle." Qiao Meixia replied casually. "What’s up?"
"I miss you terribly! Can we meet up right this second? I am already lounging at the Huangmei Clubhouse." Yang Mingxia stated directly without beating around the bush.
"Fine... I am heading over now." Qiao Meixia replied. "I will hang up. See you soon."
The call disconnected with a soft click.
Without a second of hesitation, Qiao Meixia smoothly leaned the heavy superbike into a sharp, flawless U-turn before accelerating down the main avenue toward the Huangmei Clubhouse.
The timing was actually beyond perfect. She could enjoy a quiet, high-end dinner there with Yang Mingxia, which was vastly preferred over returning to the suffocating Jiang Residence to eat at the same table as the Jiang Family. About twenty minutes later, the sleek, dark purple Ducati Panigale V4 R glided smoothly up to the grand, gated entrance of the Huangmei Clubhouse.
The Huangmei Clubhouse was renowned as one of the city’s most prestigious, hyper-exclusive entertainment establishments for the ruling elite. Beyond its Michelin-grade private restaurant, it also housed luxurious lounges, high-tier VIP suites, secure business meeting rooms, and high-end recreational facilities reserved strictly for vetted members.
Instead of parking at the surface level, Qiao Meixia rode straight down the private ramp toward the subterranean parking garage, where security protocols were significantly tighter. At the heavily fortified entrance checkpoint, several armed, uniformed security guards were meticulously stopping every incoming luxury vehicle for biometric and keycard verification.
"Miss, may I please inspect your membership card?" One of the head guards asked with utmost formality.
Without uttering a single word, Qiao Meixia retrieved a sleek, unbranded black metallic card from her pocket and handed it over.
The guard slid the card through the high-grade scanner, verified her elite authorisation status through the encrypted system, and immediately straightened his posture, offering a crisp, respectful bow.
"Everything is in perfect order, Miss. Please proceed inside. Welcome to Huangmei Clubhouse." The head security guard stated, welcoming Qiao Meixia.
Qiao Meixia accepted the card back with a simple nod before revving the throttle and gliding into the dimly lit underground parking garage. After parking the superbike neatly in one of the oversized reserved bays, she unfastened her helmet, locked it securely onto the frame, and walked with unhurried grace toward the private elevator lobby. She pressed the metallic call button.
A few seconds later, the elevator doors slowly slid open. Qiao Meixia stepped inside the pristine elevator cabin and pressed the panel button for the private floor where Yang Mingxia was waiting.
The metallic doors slowly began to slide shut.
