In this age of hyper-connectivity, where information spreads faster than wildfire, it’s almost impossible to remain untouched by certain kinds of common knowledge, even if one tries to steer clear of it.
Tantai Yaoyue, Song Zhihui, and Feng Anna were all women in their twenties—far from naïve. The moment they heard those strange sounds from the video, their minds couldn’t help but leap toward a certain unsavory possibility.
Among them, it was Tantai Yaoyue whose reaction was the most intense.
Because the name being moaned in that lewd, breathless voice was hers.
“Haoran… what are you watching?” she asked, her voice tight with unease. A vague suspicion had begun forming in her mind, but she needed to be sure.
“Ah—uh, it’s nothing. Really. Nothing,” Wang Haoran replied with a strange look on his face, shaking his head as if trying to deflect her question.
But the video on his phone hadn’t stopped playing.
Seeing this, Qin Fan’s heart skipped a beat. He instinctively reached out, wanting to snatch the phone away and kill the playback.
But Tantai Yaoyue was faster.
Qin Fan knew it was over.
Covering his face in anguish, he wished the earth would open up beneath his feet and swallow him whole. Never in his life had he wanted to disappear more than now.
Yaoyue only needed a few seconds of the footage to confirm what she feared.
Her entire face flushed red, but not from shyness. What surged through her was a deep, almost nauseating disgust.
Song Zhihui and Feng Anna, drawn in by curiosity, leaned over to take a look as well. Their faces flushed too, but this time with embarrassment.
Thankfully, the video had been censored—visually, at least. Nothing explicit was shown. Still, it was more than enough for them to understand exactly what Qin Fan had done.
Bang!
Yaoyue slammed the phone onto the table with such force that cracks immediately spidered across its full-screen display.
What the hell? It wasn’t even my fault—why smash my phone? Wang Haoran winced in silence, heart aching a little. But when he turned to look at Qin Fan and saw the utter devastation on his face, he immediately felt better.
None of the women felt like eating anymore. Just moments ago, they had been eager, their mouths watering at the sight of the exquisite dishes. Now, all of it just looked revolting.
How could they not associate it? The same hands that had done that were the ones that chopped the vegetables, stirred the pots, cooked the food…
The thought alone was enough to make them gag.
There was no way they could eat now.

“Haoran. We’re leaving.”
Tantai Yaoyue stood up without hesitation, not sparing even a glance toward Qin Fan, and walked straight out of the private room.
Wang Haoran picked up his cracked phone, pocketed it, and calmly followed her.
Seeing this, Song Zhihui and Feng Anna also stood up and left without a word.
Inside the room, only Qin Fan remained—sitting alone before a table full of untouched food, each dish now mocking him with its beauty and useless perfection.
He sat there in silence, stunned, doubting his entire existence.
A few minutes passed before he came to his senses, realizing he needed to go after Tantai Yaoyue and explain everything. Maybe he could salvage this.
But as he rushed out of the private room and into the hotel corridor, voices around him started to rise.
“Hey, isn’t that the guy from the video?”
“No kidding—it’s totally him!”
“Damn, bro’s got some skills, I’ll give him that.”
Qin Fan froze.
He turned and saw a group of men smirking, obviously recognizing him from that video.
That video had already exploded across the top two short video platforms in the country. Anyone opening those apps would only need to swipe two or three times before running into Qin Fan’s unfortunate “performance.”
He was famous now—just not in any way he wanted.
Some women passing by noticed him too. They didn’t say anything, but their giggles and sideways glances made it even worse.
Qin Fan felt like his entire body had turned to ice.
It wasn’t just his scalp tingling now. His whole being felt numb from the inside out.
He had planned to chase after Yaoyue and explain himself, but halfway there, the weight of the looks and whispers around him became too much. He covered his face with one hand, turned around, and stumbled out of the hotel in utter disgrace.
Meanwhile, a sleek Lamborghini pulled out from the hotel garage and merged onto the main road.
Inside the car, Wang Haoran kept his eyes on the road, one hand on the steering wheel, while sneaking glances at Tantai Yaoyue’s face.
Her flawless, jaw-droppingly beautiful features were tense with cold rage.
“I can’t believe it,” she said at last, her voice frosty and brittle. “He’s actually that disgusting.”
Back when she was studying under him in the mountains, she truly thought Qin Fan was a gentleman. A noble teacher, an upright man.
How laughable.
He had been pretending all along.
He was nothing but a beast in human clothing, harboring vile thoughts toward his own disciple, and worse—carrying out such filth in private.
And this video? It was just one that had been discovered. Who knew how many more there were, how many more times he had done it over the past three years?
Tantai Yaoyue clenched her jaw. She made up her mind then and there—she would keep her distance from Qin Fan from now on. As far as she was concerned, he no longer existed. She would never eat with him again, never see him again.
“You really can’t judge a book by its cover,” Wang Haoran sighed dramatically. “Sister, from now on, you’ve got to stay far away from that pervert Qin Fan.”
“Of course,” she answered without hesitation.
He paused, then asked, “When you were up in the mountains with him… did he ever lay a hand on you?”
Wang Haoran knew her image of Qin Fan had been completely shattered. Now was the perfect time to adjust his strategy.
On one hand, he could rack up more Villain Points and Halo bonuses. On the other, well… he wouldn’t mind revisiting certain memories.
A new plan began to form in his mind.
“I told you before,” Yaoyue said with emphasis. “He never touched a single finger of mine.”
Wang Haoran gave a noncommittal “Oh,” his tone clearly unconvinced.
She noticed.
“What’s with that look?” she asked, brow furrowing. “You don’t believe me?”
“I was just asking,” he replied with a forced smile, one that looked more fake than sincere.
Tantai Yaoyue’s eyes narrowed.
“You… didn’t you feel it that night?” she said suddenly, her voice trailing off at the end.
“What do you mean?” he asked.
“The sheets,” she said, her face turning red. “I didn’t throw them away. I hid them in my bedroom. You can check them if you don’t believe me.”
Wang Haoran looked slightly flustered. “Forget it. That’s not necessary.”
“No,” she insisted. “You have to look.”
She was dead serious.
He gave a helpless shrug, playing along.
When they arrived at Liu Yue’s villa, Qiu Qianwei and the others were eating in the dining room.
Ignoring them completely, Tantai Yaoyue grabbed Wang Haoran by the wrist and dragged him into Room Seven.
She found the sheets she had secretly kept, holding them up as evidence.
“Even if you don’t believe anything else, at least this should be enough, right?” she said, her voice firm.
“Ah… so it’s true. I’m sorry. I really misjudged you. I… I don’t deserve your forgiveness,” Wang Haoran lowered his head, looking as if he was drowning in guilt.
Tantai Yaoyue stared at him in disbelief for a moment.
So that’s what he thought all along… He thought I was the kind of girl who’d just give herself away so easily.
No wonder he hadn’t taken responsibility.
Her fingers curled into fists, a strong urge to punch someone rising in her chest.
But just then, Wang Haoran lifted his head.
His eyes were red.
Tears shimmered in them.
She froze.
The anger she was about to unleash disappeared in an instant. Her clenched fists loosened on their own.
And just like that, her heart softened, melting quietly like snow in spring.
