Seris almost no longer looked like someone who should be able to stand, blood was running down from her side and arm.
Her left leg was badly injured and her left arm was useless.
Part of her face was covered in blood but her right hand was still barely holding the sword.
Half of the skin and flesh on her face was also completely gone because of the slap she had received from the Calamity, in short she was alive, but the moment the artifact turned off, she could be considered dead.

Seven lights were fired toward Black Silence from seven different directions and some of them were at angles that even Seris could not understand how they had been created.
Black Silence was forced to raise his defense, the huge shadow gathered and both hands moved.
Mana was compressed around his body and the Young Pendragon moved forward.

The huge strike came down from above and the Calamity caught it, but this was not the main attack.
Seris’s eyes stayed fixed on Lian’s chest.
The heart.

Black Silence understood at the same moment and his right hand left the defense and moved toward his heart, there was no concern on his face and he was sure that he could stop this attack.
But at that moment something happened that practically no one could have expected in any way.
[The Ruined Heart has activated.]

Lian finally felt his own body but it happened so suddenly that he almost lost his focus at that moment.
A terrible headache and cold air entering his lungs.
The weight of blood in his veins, the beating of his heart, the contact of his feet with the ground, the sound of the battle and above all the existence of something impossible that was spread through every part of his body.
But he had no time to care about these things right now, his right hand was rising to defend his heart.

And there he truly understood that the thing he had eaten, or at least the thing that should have been eaten, was still alive and anger and disbelief exploded through the entire existence of the Calamity.

The purple light in Lian’s eyes disappeared and for less than a second his real eyes returned.
Seris saw them, her sword shook for a fraction of a second, she knew that look.
Cold, tired, a little bored but human! That look was human!
Lian, it was really Lian himself and he had been alive all this time.
Lian’s lips moved, time was almost over and he could only say two words.
"Do it." he said in his real voice, short and rough.
Seris’s healthy eye opened wider.

Lian did not wait, he moved his body forward by a few centimeters himself and directly went toward the sword, he never thought that he would go toward his own death like this.

The control was cut and the purple light exploded in his eyes again, Black Silence took back control of the body.
But it was too late.
Seris froze completely for a fraction of a second, all this time she had told herself that if there was no other way, she would kill Lian.
She had even told Seraphina, she had told Rindo, she had told herself many times.
If the choice was between one person and the world, the choice was clear.
But at that time she thought Lian no longer existed, she thought that the man was dead!
Now she had seen it herself, that same look and that same voice and his final words echoed in her mind again.

He was alive, and this truth made Seris’s hand actually shake.

Black Silence took over all of Lian’s face again and anger filled his existence.
His right hand rose and this time went directly toward Seris’s head, black threads covered his entire hand and he wanted to crush the girl’s skull.
And the Young Pendragon understood that there was no chance left, if she hesitated, it would be over and she would be the one who died.
Seris gritted her teeth so hard that pain spread through her jaw and her eye burned for a moment, the pressure of something she did not want to let out.
"Bastard..." she said with an angry but slightly shaking voice and held the sword hilt tighter.
She took one step forward.
"If you survive this..." she continued and her eyes stayed on the purple eyes for the last moment and her lips became a cold line.
"I’ll kill you again myself for this stupid plan."
And then she finally did it!
[Absolute Moonless Severance.]
The distance disappeared, there was no defense, Lian himself had lowered it and the cut directly formed at the coordinates of the heart.
Seris’s blade entered his chest, flesh was cut, bone moved aside and the tip of the sword came out from the back of his body, exactly through the heart and the purple eyes opened wider for a moment.
Black Silence’s hand was only a few centimeters away from Seris’s head and then stopped.
The heartbeat moved weakly once... again, and this time even weaker and then... nothing.
[Death of the Vessel detected.]
Seris held her breath, she succeeded! She finally succeeded!
[Anchor: Destroyed.]

But Seris did not even have time to feel happy, apart from the fact that all of her strength had completely left her muscles and she could no longer feel any part of her body,
And even her sword fell from her hand, her mana was completely drained, without even realizing it, with the complete loss of energy from her body and the loss of her ability to feel her body, she fell backward onto the ground.
All of those deep and severe wounds that had been forcibly closed opened again, and she was covered in her own blood.
