Seris ignored the pain, she was not someone who would regret her actions, not when it had already been done.

She only looked at Lian’s face.

"At least you wanted it yourself." She whispered softly, and a strange heaviness formed in her chest.

Those two short words that had come from Lian’s mouth in his final moments had taken a heavy weight off her shoulders, but at the same time, the thought that part of him was still truly alive bothered her.

Her lips moved only slightly.

"Bastard... you even made me responsible for your death." She whispered in a voice so weak that it could barely be heard.

At that moment, the sound of approaching footsteps made her raise her gaze slightly.

Darian.

Before fully returning to the battlefield, Lian’s brother had noticed that Seris was still conscious and more importantly, he had realized that she had heard his words.

Their eyes met for a few seconds, and his smile was gone, leaving only a cold look.

"You can die too, Pendragon." He said simply, as if he was talking about something completely normal.

Seris looked at him for a few moments, she did not even have enough energy to become angry, and a very weak and mocking smile appeared on her blood-covered lips.

"I didn’t like you from the beginning." Seris replied in a rough voice.

Darian ignored her, as if replying to a girl who already looked dead was not worth his time.

Then, without saying anything, he turned around and raised his bow toward the Cindari swordsman.

The Young Pendragon also put her head back on the ground, she truly did not think it mattered anymore, with their current situation, it was unlikely that anyone would leave this place alive.

The four Cindari had gone mad and she was sure that no one had the power to deal with them anymore, they had not had that power from the beginning.

She also had no strength left to help.

There was no hope for anyone anymore...

But at that exact moment, a huge panel appeared in front of all the remaining Awakened.

[An abnormality has been detected in the result of the mission.]

Rindo saw the panel for a moment while moving back from the Cindari mage’s attack.

Seraphina also kept her sword raised and gave the words a quick look.

[Re-evaluating the current condition of the world...]

[Checking the final result...]

[Corrupted Titan: Dead.]

[Black Silence: Destroyed.]

[Threat of the Calamity reaching the Origin World: Removed.]

[The failure condition of the mission is no longer active.]

[The result of the main mission has been changed.]

Then a larger message appeared, a message that brought hope back into all of them.

[Congratulations.]

[You have successfully saved the world.]

For several seconds, no one reacted, because that sentence was too big.

Had the world really been saved?

After all those deaths?

After the Forgotten Tree?

The Titan?

Black Silence?

After all the difficulties they had gone through?

After all the sacrifices?

Rindo closed his eyes for a moment, but the battle was still continuing, so he immediately raised his weapon again.

The next panels appeared one after another.

[Calculating the contribution of all participants...]

[Calculation complete.]

[The reward of the main Quest has been applied with changes:]

[+3 Levels]

[+100 Fragments]

[+250 Stat Points]

[Special Treasure Chest ×1]

[Title: Calamity Survivor]

Seris looked at the words with one half-open eye, some of the rewards seemed to have changed, could it be related to the way they had completed the Quest?

However, at that moment, another notification appeared for her.

[The Host has reached the current level limit before evolution.]

[Level rewards will be stored until the completion of the evolution.]

Three levels.

One hundred Fragments.

Two hundred and fifty Stat Points.

Even after burning half of her stats, seeing the last number created a bitter feeling inside her for a moment.

She had lost one thousand points and now two hundred and fifty had returned.

Well... better than nothing, but she knew that bringing her stats back to 2000 would take a long time.

[The participants with the highest contribution to saving the world have been identified:]

[Lian Vorhelm]

[Seris Pendragon]

Seris’s eyes stayed on the first name for a moment.

Lian.

Even after his death, the system had still placed his name in the ranking, but there was no doubt that he had made the greatest sacrifice for this success...

[Outstanding Contribution Reward:]

[Golden Treasure Chest ×1]

[Special Title]

And Seris’s special panel immediately showed another message.

[Special Condition fulfilled.]

[You personally destroyed the Anchor of a Calamity.]

[You personally destroyed the Vessel of a Calamity.]

[Special Title received: Calamity Slayer]

"Calamity Slayer." She looked at the title for a few moments, for some reason, this title gave her a strange feeling.

But she did not care much about that strange feeling and turned her attention to the notification for the Golden Treasure Chest, she opened it without hesitation and another panel appeared only in front of her eyes.

Seris’s eyes moved over the lines, and the description of the reward she received from the Treasure Chest made her raise an eyebrow and stare at the panel for several seconds.

Then the corner of her lips moved up very slightly.

"Not a bad compensation for all this trouble." She whispered with weak satisfaction.

[Rewards for both Outstanding Contributors have been delivered.]

Seris frowned, rewards for both Outstanding Contributors?

Her eyes returned to the motionless body beside her.

Lian was dead, she had seen it herself, so what did "delivered" mean?

Did the system transfer the rewards of dead people to their families?

As far as she knew, no.

So maybe it was just a general way of writing the message, but something about that message bothered her.

The system usually did not use such unclear words for no reason.

She herself did not know why, but those words had caused a small hope to appear in her heart, a hope that had unconsciously excited her.

She was about to check the panel again when another warning covered everything.

[End of the main mission confirmed.]

[All surviving participants of the mission will be returned to the Ruined Realm in 10 seconds.]

[10]

The Cindari swordsman roared and attacked, and Darian fired a seven-colored arrow.

[9]

The arrow hit the sword and an explosion of light covered the battlefield.

[8]

Another Cindari punched, and Rindo threw himself in front of Cassian and blocked the attack with his sword.

Both of them moved several meters back.

[7]

The Root Controller blew up the entire ground.

"Break!" Aren shouted as he slammed his foot hard against the ground, and a wall of stone rose between the survivors and the roots.

[6]

The wall split apart instantly, and Liana pulled herself behind Aren.

[5]

The Cindari mage released a wave of fire and ash, and Selina was directly in the path of the attack, she had no mana left to defend herself.

[4]

Seraphina stepped forward, held her sword with both hands, her legs were shaking and tears were still on her face.

[3]

The transfer light slowly formed around the bodies of the survivors, and the four Undead became even more violent when they saw the light.

[2]

In the middle of all that chaos, Lian slowly opened his eyes.

His eyes were no longer purple, they were his own eyes again and his gaze was fixed directly on Darian’s back.

At that moment, Darian turned slightly to the side to fire his next arrow.

And maybe

Just maybe

He saw a movement from the corner of his eye and quickly turned his gaze toward Lian’s body.

But the transfer light became stronger.

Darian frowned, had he seen it correctly?

Or had the light simply changed the appearance of the dead man’s face?

Had he just imagined it?

He had no time to check.

[1]

[Foreign Human detected within the mission area.]

[Origin Alignment: Confirmed.]

[Emergency Return Conditions: Accepted.]

[Transfer Permission Granted.]

Then, for all the surviving Awakened, the entire world became white.

There was no sound, they could not feel any pain or the ground, and the only thing that existed was light.

But a moment later, everything returned.

Dozens of bodies appeared almost at the same time on a hard surface.

Some were standing, some were on their knees, and some had fallen to the ground from the very beginning

And the area they saw in the distance was completely different from a few seconds ago

Huge walls made of metal and stone.

Lights, watchtowers, and behind them, the same huge crack they had passed through to enter the Special Area, which slowly began to close after they came out.

They had returned to the Ruined Realm and Base#9
