Chapter 575: Chapter 575 - Supervisor Leo
"Sure." Supervisor Leo nodded while keeping his spiritual sense spread across the surroundings.
He was still wondering how a high-level demonic beast could appear in an area designated only for low- and intermediate-level demonic beasts.
On top of that, it was a crazed demonic beast. The person in charge of managing this mountain would never have allowed it to enter so easily.
Not to mention, this crazed gorilla had come from the depths of the mountain. It didn’t look like it had wandered in from outside.
Could it have recently evolved into a high-level demonic beast and coincidentally been affected by the Red Eye Craze phenomenon?
As for Leyvi, he didn’t care where the gorilla came from.
He simply wanted a little action.
Since this was a training camp for Spiritual Cultivators, he naturally restricted himself to using only Spiritual Cultivation abilities.
Over the past week, he had finally learned how to fly by manipulating his spiritual pressure. He had fallen countless times before getting the hang of it.
It couldn’t be helped. He had spent years flying with Qi, so changing to an entirely different method felt surprisingly awkward. Only after repeated failures did he finally manage to fly properly.
Leyvi immediately levitated into the air and flew toward the incoming crazed gorilla.
The sight of the beast reminded him of the demonic gorilla in Bara Forest that had nearly slapped him to death. Back then, he had challenged a high-level demonic gorilla while he was only a middle-stage Foundation Building Realm cultivator and had lost miserably.
Although this wasn’t the same gorilla, he couldn’t help but feel like returning the favor.
The next moment, he conjured a gigantic invisible hand.
It was so enormous that the already massive gorilla no longer seemed quite so imposing in comparison.
"Holy shit! Instructor Leyvi can create something that big?"
"This... isn’t this a little too exaggerated?"
"Ah... I want to make my spear that big too..."
Some of the Spiritual Cultivators couldn’t help but exclaim as they witnessed the colossal construct through their goggles.
Roaaar!
Completely unaware of what Leyvi had prepared, the crazed gorilla beat its chest twice, each strike producing a thunderous boom that echoed across the mountain.
Then it bent its legs and launched itself high into the sky.
Using its tremendous weight together with the momentum of its leap, it descended toward Leyvi like a falling mountain, raising both massive fists overhead, intending to smash the tiny human into paste.
Leyvi remained hovering calmly in the air.
Only when the gorilla entered striking distance did he move.
The gigantic invisible hand swung upward in one smooth motion, its open palm meeting the descending gorilla head-on.
Boom!
The collision erupted with a deafening blast.
The gorilla’s downward momentum vanished instantly.
Instead, its entire body was launched violently back into the sky as though it had been struck by a giant. Bones cracked throughout its body as its massive frame bent unnaturally under the overwhelming force.
A heartbeat later, it slammed into the mountainside.
Boooom!
The impact shook the mountain.
Its enormous body tore through the rocky cliff like a cannonball, carving a long jagged trench as countless boulders burst apart. Trees along its path exploded into splinters, while dust and shattered stone billowed outward, blanketing the mountainside.
Silence followed.
As the dust gradually settled, the crazed gorilla remained embedded deep within the broken cliff.
It no longer moved.
Its limbs were twisted into unnatural positions, its chest had collapsed inward, and blood slowly flowed from beneath the mangled body.
It had died instantly.
Leyvi’s gigantic invisible hand also shattered apart after the strike, unable to withstand the tremendous force it had unleashed.
Hovering quietly in the air, Leyvi looked at the demonic gorilla.
It no longer even resembled a gorilla.
"...Seems I’ve gotten stronger again." He muttered with satisfaction.
Previously, he needed to imbue his invisible hand with Qi to make his attack this powerful, but now he could achieve the same result using only his mental power. Even though he had spent the past year practicing other Spiritual Cultivation abilities, his overall mental power had still increased considerably.
Leyvi quickly flew over, stored the dead gorilla inside his space ring, then turned around and descended slowly toward everyone.
Below, the group of Spiritual Cultivators stared at him in stunned silence.
When he demonstrated his Spiritual Pressure in the Zenith State before, it had been shocking, but there was no obvious physical display of its destructive power.
This time was different.
There was a clear visual presentation.
Over the past week, they had fought low- and intermediate-level demonic beasts and plants themselves, giving them a good understanding of the difference in strength between each level.
Now they had just witnessed a far stronger high-level demonic beast being slapped to death with a single strike.
The gap between them and Leyvi wasn’t merely large.
It wasn’t even remotely close.
Even the four whom Leyvi had praised for possessing excellent combat sense suddenly no longer felt anything special about themselves.
"Alright, Supervisor Leo. We can head back now." Leyvi said with a smile.
"You’re as amazing as ever." Supervisor Leo praised.
He wasn’t wearing a goggle device, but he had still seen Leyvi’s gigantic invisible hand clearly through the ocular technique he had mastered.
"Do you really not want to join us? We could really use a talent like you." He tried persuading Leyvi once again.
"Hahaha! You already know my answer, Supervisor Leo." Leyvi declined with a laugh.
"That’s too bad then." Supervisor Leo sighed.
He had been selected as the supervisor because of his mastery of the ocular technique, which allowed him to observe and evaluate spiritual sense far better than the goggle devices ever could.
Ultimately, however, he wasn’t a Spiritual Cultivator. There was a limit to how much guidance he could provide them.
If Leyvi became his assistant, he had no doubt their progress would accelerate significantly. This past week’s training had already proven that. In fact, he would even hand over his position to Leyvi if the latter wanted it.
Unfortunately, Leyvi’s priority was always his family. He had no interest in joining anyone. Wealth wasn’t enough to tempt him either, as the Leyan Family was already filthy rich.
"Don’t look so gloomy. Just because I don’t want to join your project doesn’t mean I won’t help at all. Every once in a while, you can bring everyone to Bara City and we can hold another training camp like this." Leyvi suggested.
"Haha. Deal! It’s quite a long journey, but I’ll make sure to arrange one every few years. Just don’t leave us hanging when we actually come." Supervisor Leo replied happily.
And so, the week-long training camp for the Spiritual Cultivators came to an end.
Afterward, Supervisor Leo led everyone back to Arivu City.
Once only he and Leyvi remained, he handed Leyvi a copy of the ocular technique along with several sets of the goggle devices as thanks for his cooperation.
Leyvi couldn’t have been happier to receive them. He had actually been planning to buy a pair of the goggles, yet instead he ended up receiving several of them for free.
Even more surprising, he also received a copy of the ocular technique that allowed one to see spiritual sense. Supervisor Leo had already told him that, unlike the goggles, this technique wasn’t available for sale anywhere and only a select few were permitted to learn it.
Did they really trust him this much just because he had helped train them for a week? Leyvi couldn’t help but wonder.
After expressing his thanks, Leyvi bid Supervisor Leo farewell and left.
Supervisor Leo watched Leyvi’s departing figure until he disappeared into the distance.
"Master Newton told me to give him the ocular technique as appreciation for helping us... But was it really necessary to give away something this precious? The goggles alone would’ve been more than enough." Supervisor Leo muttered.
He knew better than anyone how valuable the ocular technique was because he had mastered it himself. It didn’t just allow one to see spiritual sense. It also revealed many phenomena that were invisible to the naked eye.
The human eye could only perceive a tiny fraction of what truly existed in the world. Those who mastered this ocular technique would discover an entirely different world hidden in plain sight.
"Well, at least Leyvi is a likeable fellow." He smiled before heading back to the academy.
After that, Leyvi quickly returned to the hotel and reunited with his family. He spent some time playing with his three adorable babies until they finally fell asleep.
Once he was alone, Leyvi took the opportunity to examine the ocular technique.
"Huh? This isn’t a one-time-use jade slip." Leyvi was surprised.
If it were a one-time-use jade slip, once the information was transferred to him, the jade slip could not be used anymore. But this one was not like that. It meant other people could still access and learn the ocular technique from it.
Leyvi sighed inwardly. It was obvious they had intentionally given him a reusable copy to make him feel indebted, but he didn’t really mind. In any case, he had already promised to help them from time to time. He would simply consider this his reward.
Another week passed, and it was finally time for the Leyan Family to depart for the Buchanan Family’s territory.
Barcas’ wedding would be held the following day.
