A jet landed on a mountain range. On its rudder, an octagonal logo could be seen, with ’Phantom Legion’ written in bold letters in the middle.
As the exit door opened with a mechanical chime, a lone figure quickly walked out. Much of his hair had turned white, yet there were no wrinkles on his face. He was radiating a unique aura that exuded both calmness and destructive will at the same time.
His face darkened as he looked at the mountain ahead. Or what was a mountain earlier, but now looked like a hill. "No. D-don’t tell me I arrived too late." He quickly rushed forward and climbed the mountain. This was the same mountain where Leon had slaughtered multiple opponents today. The mountain beside the Red Horn’s Nest.
Looking at the ruined place, the person’s heart sank.
But suddenly...
Cring! Cring!
His phone started to ring. He brought it out, and the moment he saw who the caller was, his mood brightened a little. He quickly answered the call and touched the phone to his ear.
"Father, where are you?" From the other end, Sol’s voice rang out. The person released a breath he hadn’t realized he was holding. "You brat!" Then he started speaking. "Where the hell are you? I arrived at the Red Horn’s Nest. Where is your sister? How is she?" He threw one question after another.
Back inside Emily’s car. "Relax, relax," Sol said. "She is totally fine. She has never been better." Sol grinned.
Emily used her left hand to pinch him hard.
"Ouch! Ouch! What the hell are you doing, sis?" Sol asked, puzzled.
"You still have the nerve to ask me that?" Emily said while driving the car.
Sol rubbed the place where she had pinched and started speaking with his father again. "Father, we are going to Delvan. We will come back later."
"Delvan? But what happened to Sylus Moure?"
"Him? He is dead already." Sol said casually, like it was no big thing.
Meanwhile, the person on the other side froze. Then he snapped. "You brat! You brought me all this way, telling me it was urgent, your sister was in danger, and now you are telling me the strongest Disaster Class hunter is dead? Is this some kind of stupid prank? Trust me, I am going to ground you for a year if you can’t explain it to me properly." He almost roared. He was a busy person managing a guild. But he had come here urgently as his daughter was in danger. Yet now it seemed like it was all just a prank. How could he not get angry?
Sol pulled the phone away a bit because of the loud voice. Once his father was over, he touched it to his ear again and started explaining. "It’s no prank, Father. She really was in a bad situation. We all were. Then big bro killed Sylus Moure, and now we are going to visit his house."
"Big bro? Spencer? He killed Sylus Moure? How?" Jason Flemming was dumbfounded.
"Spencer? Don’t even mention his name. That ungrateful stood like a statue instead of offering even the slightest bit of help when sis was in danger. It’s big bro Leon Bale. He saved us during that time when we were trapped inside the hidden realm. We already told you. You remember him, right?"
"But... But didn’t you say he was lucky enough and saved you by sheer luck? How can someone grow this strong in just one month?"
"Well, we were shocked as well. But that’s what happened."
"Give me the address. I am coming to meet him as well." Jason Flemming said immediately.
"Huh! Oh! Okay." Sol then collected the address from Leon and sent it to his father.
The journey passed in silence. After achieving so much, Leon couldn’t enjoy the moment for some reason. After hours of journey, Leon finally arrived at his destination.
But even before entering the vicinity of the colony he used to live in, his expression darkened.
Buildings after buildings had collapsed. The ground was razed with multiple craters. He could even see a big fissure. Growing unease gripped his heart.
"Bro, what happened here? Is it normally like this?" Sol asked as he stared outside with a puzzled expression.
Emily could feel as well that something was wrong.
"That way... Go fast." Leon hurried Emily to go toward his building.
The moment the car stopped, Leon burst out of the car. His mood totally sank. The building he used to live in was totally flattened. Nearby buildings were in no better condition. The whole place looked like a barren land. Amidst the ruins, two people were kneeling.
They were none other than Lamia and Frenrir.
Leon bolted toward them. "Lamia, Frenrir. What the hell happened here?"
"Master, punish us." Both of them said at the same time and hit the ground with their heads.
"What nonsense are you talking about? Get up first and tell me what happened."
Leon helped them to stand. Both of their faces were ashen.
"Where... Where is Noira? And where is Jenny?"
At those questions, Lamia’s and Frenrir’s faces darkened even further.
"Master..." After staying silent for a while, Lamia finally spoke. "Your sister and Noira... Both were abducted..."
Leon froze, his head becoming light. He felt like the ground beneath his feet was collapsing and he would fall from a cliff at any time.
Emily and Sol had also followed behind him. And the moment they heard what had happened, they froze as well.
Then...
A low hum...
Something gushed out of Leon’s body, sending a chill down everyone’s spine. Lamia was far, far stronger than Leon. Yet she, too, felt affected by the sudden change.
"Who? Who were they?" Leon asked, his eyes turning blood-red.
"The group was from a world named Glamoxia. They were all elves, a species blessed by mana. First, I thought they were here for you. But no. They were here for your sister. She has a special bloodline known as the Zenekian bloodline, which can elevate a person’s talent for perception. And...." She was about to explain more, but Leon raised his hand, stopping her mid-sentence.
"How do I go there?" He asked coldly.
