I Can Level Up Infinitely

Chapter 276: Dying Fantasies

"H-how?" Kamalon somehow uttered that word with difficulty. He felt like the ground beneath him had collapsed. Standing before him was a human.

Humans were considered inferior to the beast race because they lacked aggressiveness and raw power. In the same realm, a human had no chance of winning against a beast.

And Kamalon wasn’t just a beast. He was a divine beast and had one of the ten legendary weapons. Yet before this human, he felt powerless. Just now, he had used the strongest attack with his gauntlets. Yet Logan was still alive. Nothing made sense to Kamalon. He felt like he was inside a ridiculous dream.

"Thanks," Logan said, a blood drop rolling down his forehead. "Now, it’s time for you to face consequences." He raised his right hand.

Whoooosh!

Whoooooosh!

Whoooooosh!

Gigantic earth spikes shot out from the ground. Kamalon dodged almost all of them. But one grazed one of his thighs. Another struck his forearm, piercing from one side and bursting out from the other.

"Arrghgggghhhhhh!" Kamalon howled in pain. But in his eyes, shock was deeper than pain. "You... You can use earth magic?"

Logan didn’t reply. Instead, he clasped his hands hard and then thrust them forward.

Instantly, a tiny dot of earth appeared in the sky. Right after materializing, it started pulling chunks of earth. It was the same as Kamalon’s last attack.

The more chunks of earth flew toward the tiny dot, the bigger it grew.

Kamalon’s face paled. But instead of cowering in fear, he punched the ground with his right fist.

Instantly, heaps of earth erupted from the ground before morphing into golems. There were a total of ten of them. Some stood at the height of fifty meters, while some stood at the height of forty.

As Kamalon gestured, all those earth golems shot toward Logan. But before they could reach him, Logan was already done. A huge boulder had materialized in the air. Though it was nothing compared to the boulder Kamalon had made, it was still massive for a human.

Logan waved his hand. The boulder shot forward, a thin line appearing horizontally. Just like before, a maw opened, and it munched right as it clashed with a golem.

The golem was bitten down and shattered instantly.

The monstrous boulder shot toward another rushing golem and destroyed it with a single munch.

It didn’t take even a single minute, and all the golems were destroyed.

Verham was totally dumbfounded. "H-he awakened that ability by taking damage. Just like he had done with me with lightning. But only one being ever had that ability. The Demon Monarch!"

Logan, meanwhile, didn’t give Kamalon any more opportunities to attack.

The boulder shot toward Kamalon.

Munch!

The boulder’s maw opened and closed sharply. Kamalon dodged it somehow. Even with his ridiculously huge size, he was very fast.

The boulder continued to munch.

Crunch!

Crunch!

Crunch!

With each munch, dust and debris rained down.

Just as Kamalon was about to dodge another attack from the boulder...

Baaaaaaaaaaam!

A sword made of earth struck the golden ape.

Whooooooooooosh!

He was sent flying, right at the boulder’s maw.

Munch!

The boulder bit his muscular arm. First, the maw didn’t close fully due to the arm’s thickness. But the boulder’s jaws pressed so hard that Kamalon didn’t get a second chance to defend. His arm was ripped apart.

Before the ape could even scream, the boulder continued to move boldly.

Right after the arm, the boulder targeted his shoulder. Then the chest. Within twelve bites, the ape was gone.

A divine beast...

Dead...

Just like that.

Logan let go of the spell as the boulder vanished.

The Reaper’s Fist started to fall from the sky. Logan didn’t rush toward them. He only raised his hands.

Instantly, that falling pair of gauntlets shot toward Logan like shooting stars.

Thwack!

Thwack!

Both gauntlets slammed onto his fists. A golden hue radiated from them.

Logan smiled in satisfaction.

Others stood in a daze before finally snapping out of it. Mercer started hovering in the air and shot toward Logan. Lilith followed behind him.

Verham did the same.

"Who are you?" Mercer asked directly. "Are you a demon?"

Logan turned toward them. "Why? You won’t give me the Sky Heart if I am a demon?"

Mercer brought out his scythe instantly and took a fighting stance. "So, you really are a demon. What purpose are you here for? Are you really here for the Sky Heart only?"

"Yes," Logan replied calmly.

"And how are we supposed to believe that?" Mercer pressed on. "You are a demon. All demons are pathetic. Especially the one known as the Demon Monarch. The one that sword belongs to."

"Oh?" Logan raised an eyebrow. "And why is that?"

"Why? Because he’s mad. He kills anyone without restraint. Whether it’s a human or elf or dwarf or beast, he won’t let anyone go who crosses him. Even demons were afraid of him. And..."

"And!"

"It’s rumored that he once lived in a village while pretending to be a human. And then, he killed every single human living in that village."

At those words, Logan’s face darkened a little as if Mercer had touched a sore spot. "You don’t even know what actually happened. Don’t you think it’s unwise to judge someone without solid proof?"

Before Mercer could even respond, something happened. The air shimmered as three figures materialized out of nowhere.

"You have some nerve." A female voice echoed.

"How dare you believe and spread nonsense about my Master?" Another female voice spoke.

"Mercer, I always thought you were a wise one. How did you fall so low?"

Mercer staggered back. His eyes widened with bewilderment. He looked at the man. Broad shoulders, lean, but each muscle defined as if they had been sculpted. His silver hair billowed in the air. And his silver eyes were locked on Mercer now. "Y-Yami," Mercer whispered. "What are you doing here?"

The person with silver hair chuckled. "Oh! You can at least remember me? That’s progress."

Mercer’s eyes darted toward the two ladies then. These two ladies were none other than Lamia and Renata.

Lamia looked at Logan. "Master, congratulations on the new legendary weapon. For the new affinity as well."

Renata, meanwhile, slipped her arm around Logan’s and said in a playful tone. "Master, you are always fighting and fighting. How about we take a few days off and enjoy a hot bath at night today. What do you say?"

"Mercer, as promised, you should soon make the arrangements to hand over the Sky Heart to Master," Yami said to Mercer.

"Y-You three? So it’s really true! Divine beasts following a human!"

"You are staying with the Hale family as well," Lamia said, displeased.

"My case is different."

"Different! Few of the core family members treat you as who you really are, while the others keep disrespecting you? That’s really different, actually." Yami said.

Mercer opened his mouth to speak but then sighed. He thought for a while before speaking again. "You said I judged without proof. Are you saying those rumours are really false information?"

"What else?" Yami said angrily. "If you knew what really happened, you wouldn’t act like this."

"Then I am really sorry. I have some bad blood with demons. And I have been staying in the Seventh Heaven for a long time. So it was difficult to determine which was true and which was false from the rumours. But as it was related to a demon, it was easy to believe that the demon was in the wrong. After all, even his wife was killed."

The moment those words left Mercer’s mouth, the temperature dropped. A frightening aura erupted from Logan’s body. A memory flashed before his eyes. A memory neither Logan nor Leon wanted to witness again.

Both Renata and Lamia placed their hands on his shoulders. "Calm down, Master. Just two more ingredients. One is already within our reach. It won’t be long before you will finally be able to see her again."

At those words, the crimson aura started to fade. Logan slowly looked at Verham instead of Mercer.

"You still want to stop me from obtaining the bow?"

Verham, who had been keenly hearing everything and trying to digest all the information, was suddenly taken aback.

"Me? Stop you? I don’t have dying fantasies."

Yami, Lamia, and Renata couldn’t help but burst into laughter hearing that.

Mercer was surprised.

"Verham? Weren’t you acting so high and mighty even just an hour ago? What happened?"

"You!" Verham glared at Mercer. "You call me stupid, but look at you. He killed Kamalon like he was a low-class goblin. Even I would have to go all out to kill Kamalon. Why would I even think about stopping him anymore?"

Verham looked at Logan and smiled warily. "That bow is all yours. But that’s a soul weapon, so even if I agree, you won’t be able to wield it if the weapon doesn’t accept you as its master."

Logan didn’t say anything and turned toward the Thunder Valley, which was already in ruins. The bow stood atop the boulder, still intimidating like a king.

He raised his right hand. "Come." He spoke.

Instantly, the bow started to vibrate. The boulder started to crumble. And then...

Whoooosh!
