I Can Program My Body?

Chapter 704: Power of Merit Source

A month later, the situation around the dark gate began to stabilize. Although everyone still had to fight in full concentration, Nash no longer needed to take the helm.

"It’s time for me to go into seclusion."

Strength was the most important thing in this cosmic competition. No matter how large the Neon Star Alliance grew, or how wealthy they became, it was all useless without strength as a foundation.

After informing Julius and the other leaders, he took the Void Pulse back to the Neon Star Alliance Territory.

---

At the edge of the forbidden domain, Neon Star Alliance Territory:

"This place doesn’t seem to have suffered much damage," Camilla muttered as they arrived.

"The forbidden zone has its own gravitational pull. The Dark Gate’s power was not enough to overcome the pulling force of the tier 9 dark beast sealed inside."

In other words, the forbidden zone was the safest place in their domain area. Unaffected by the surge of energy, people’s lives here remained the same.

Landing on Neon Planet, Nash, Camilla, Elizabeth, and Tsuka took a walk through their back garden.

While having a picnic to relax their minds, Nash invited the two of them to join him in training.

"Let’s go inside. It’s time for us to go into seclusion."

"No, merits are limited. We need to use them at the sharpest edge of the blade. Furthermore, we’ve already reached the tier 6 realm."

"That’s right. You’d better use every merit to catch up to us soon."

"You two..."

Indeed, while the merit source crystal core seemed massive, the energy it contained was barely enough for him. Adding two more people would only further divide the energy.

"Alright, then I’ll leave the Neon Star Alliance to you. If you have any problems, you can call me anytime..."

---

Leaving the two behind, Nash entered the special dimensional space on Tsuka’s back. In the sky was an artificial sun made from the Merit Source Crystal Core, which he transferred before leaving the Void Pulse.

Heading to his private training quarters, Nash began to review the authority granted to him after opening the dark gate.

Merits were, after all, a unique form of energy. To grant them true omnipotence required the assistance of a power such as the Void Administrator.

In the past, his authority could only convert merits into void energy, soul energy, elements, and law, using them to increase training efficiency.

Unfortunately, the forms the merits could be transformed into were far too inferior compared to various natural resources. Nash wondered how that might change now that they had opened a dark gate.

"These authorities..." Nash muttered in a daze, having finished digesting the information.

In total, he had been granted three additional forms of merit conversion:

The first was converting merit into source energy: Void Source, Soul Source, Elemental Source, and Law Source. This form of energy was on a whole other tier compared to other natural resources.

By comparison, their efficiency was similar to a tier 9 potency potion, with the only difference being that they were easier to absorb and gentler on the body.

The second was transforming merits into evolutionary energy. This evolutionary energy could transform the likes of an ordinary rock into a tier 8 material of the same type. This meant that, with enough merits, they could obtain whatever resources they needed.

Except for the core materials of the Dark Gate, which possessed the power of origin, he could use merits to artificially replicate almost anything.

Finally, the third was using merits to accelerate time. That’s right, accelerating time, turning 1 day into a month, a year, or even a millennium!

The thing that had limited him the most, time, could now be solved as long as there were enough merits. From comprehension of the runic space, creation of module systems, to the cultivation of his body, soul, and elements, all of it could be accelerated by merits.

"No wonder those supreme leaders were so eager to build more dark gates." Nash thought, calming his racing heart.

Merits were practically a shortcut to advance to a Tier 8 War God. Given enough dark gates continuously producing merits, one could even advance to the peak in a single day.

As Nash calmed down and tried to produce a single drop of elemental void source, he quickly noticed the Merit Source Crystal Core shrink slightly in size. Although imperceptible to the naked eye, it shone as brightly as a morning star, giving him a wake-up call.

"As expected, how could it be that simple?"

Trying to produce other energy sources, evolving materials from tier 1 to tier 8, then accelerating time anywhere from 1 to 100 times, Nash began calculating how much energy each action consumed.

Factoring in the merit production capacity of a single dark gate, he calculated it could produce about 100 units of merit source.

A single unit of merit source could produce 1 unit of void or soul source. Ten units of merit source were needed to produce 1 unit of elemental source, and 100 units of merit source to produce 1 unit of law source.

For evolutionary conversion, one unit of merit source could elevate a tier 1 material into a tier 8 material, provided that its size and composition weren’t too complex.

Time acceleration was more complicated to calculate. Accelerating time a hundredfold without any physical consumption cost only one unit of merit source. However, if applied to training, a single unit of merit source might only be enough for a double or triple acceleration.

"It seems I need to work harder to build more dark gates..."

Now that he was only at the tier 5 realm, his consumption was still negligible. But what about once he advanced to the tier 6 realm? A dozen dark gates might not even be enough.

"Let’s take it slow and steady..."

Having finished his calculations, Nash began to absorb the different energy sources he had condensed earlier to reap their benefits.

---

A few days later, after absorbing every energy source, he opened his panel to take a look.

[Nash Navre: Tier 5 Void Marshal

Primal Void: 66,080% → 76,080%

Soul Sublimation: 983,485% → 984,485%

Void Amplification: 66 trillion → 76 trillion

Soul Amplification: 14.7 quadrillion → 14.8 quadrillion

Physique: 9,999x

Void Affinity: SS Lvl (1,518), SSS Lvl (100)

Elemental Core: 1,618

Sublimated Element: 1,270 → 1,271]

"Amazing~ I didn’t expect a single energy source could increase my strength this much."

His primal void energy had increased by 10,000%, soul sublimation by 1,000%, and even his sublimated elements had increased by one.

While each energy source was expensive, the energy contained within them was enormous. What was better was that he could absorb one in just a single day.

"What should I focus on first?" Nash fell into thought.

He had already tried it earlier, even with the module system, he could only absorb 1 unit of energy source at a time. Any more, and his body would explode from overload.

"I’ll perfect my soul sublimation first..."
