I Can Reincarnate Infinitely

Chapter 244 - 239: I Am Liu Hua

As soon as he returned to the Chongzhen Sect, Du Youqian received news that the demons within the Wu Kingdom’s borders had been mostly cleared out.

At the same time, a disciple who had been out exterminating demons happened to run into Shuyue Hua and relayed Elder Shi’s instructions to him.

Du Youqian sighed, then flew his Flying Boat to the Hundred Flowers Sect. He borrowed their Communication Array to inform Elder Shi that Elder Pang was confirmed dead and the Teleportation Array had been destroyed. He also added that, based on clues from a Soul Search, Yin Ruozhen was attempting to awaken the Great Saint Incarnation.

There was a long silence on the other end, so long that Du Youqian wondered if the Communication Array had malfunctioned. Finally, Elder Shi’s voice came through again. "Understood. Come back for now."

Du Youqian had never heard Elder Shi’s voice sound so somber.

’He and Elder Pang must have been very good friends.’

’As for which pained him more—the loss of his friend or the loss of the Teleportation Array—it was hard to say.’

Du Youqian piloted his Flying Boat, taking Little Wukong with him as he hurried toward the Holy Blood Sect.

Just as he reached the gates of the Holy Blood Sect and disembarked from his Flying Boat, he saw Feng Xiaoyi standing by the road, looking around expectantly.

For once, Feng Xiaoyi wasn’t striking seductive poses or radiating glamour. She was so plain and subdued, it was as if she were a different person entirely.

"Master?" Du Youqian was completely surprised. "I thought you were in the Desolate Abyss. How are things over there?"

Feng Xiaoyi sighed. "Not well. A lot of people died. The good news is, those Demon King Zombies have been mostly eliminated. Let’s hope nothing else nasty comes crawling out of the Desolate Abyss."

’You’re mistaken,’ Du Youqian thought. ’The strongest one is yet to come.’

’But that’s fine. We junior cultivators won’t have to deal with the strongest one. The Blood Slaughter Sword itself will naturally take action.’

’But as for which Core Formation Masters will be sacrificed to enhance the Sword Intent’s power... that’s hard to say.’

’All one can say is that, aside from the True Inheritors, anyone is fair game.’

Of course, Du Youqian couldn’t tell Feng Xiaoyi this directly. But recalling how she had looked out for him in the past, he still gave her a discreet warning. "If there’s nothing urgent, Master, you’d best not return to the Sect for now. Maybe continue hunting demons outside, or find a post to garrison somewhere."

Feng Xiaoyi frowned. "Do you know something? Some top secret known only to the True Inheritors?"

Du Youqian lowered his head, saying nothing.

Feng Xiaoyi shook her head. After a moment of contemplation, she looked as if she had finally made up her mind. "Do you remember when I said I would one day ask something of you?"

"Of course."

"Then come with me now," she said, her expression grim. "Help me with something."

Du Youqian hesitated. He thought of Elder Shi’s warning, but said anyway, "Master, I have other matters to attend to. Let’s talk about this later. I will help you, but only after the dust has settled here."

’I have to stay here,’ he thought. ’If the Great Saint Incarnation emerges and they decide to sacrifice Fang Hua, Luo Jinyu, Meng Xiao, or Lin Sha, I must intervene.’

Feng Xiaoyi’s expression was more serious than he had ever seen it. She slowly produced a small Jade Scroll Fragment. "You’ve been looking for this, haven’t you?"

Surprise and anger raged within Du Youqian.

But he controlled his expression perfectly, revealing none of his inner turmoil. He smiled faintly. "Yes, I have been. I never expected you to have it, Master."

Feng Xiaoyi sighed. "Do you think I deliberately sought this out to use as leverage against you?"

Du Youqian smiled faintly. "I wouldn’t know. Whatever you say, Master."

"What if I told you..." Feng Xiaoyi transmitted via her Divine Sense, *"...that this Jade Scroll was mine to begin with? I am Liu Hua."*

The name "Liu Hua" left Du Youqian stunned.

’Good god,’ he thought. ’Has she lived for several thousand years?’

’Even Possession can’t extend one’s Celestial Lifespan.’

Feng Xiaoyi handed the Jade Scroll Fragment to him. "Do you know why I took you as my disciple? It was because of how you acted during your deathmatch with Xi Mengran. It showed me that you are, at your core, a good person. The kind of good person who has no place in the Holy Blood Sect."

After a moment’s hesitation, Du Youqian took the Jade Scroll Fragment. He glanced at the masked Feng Xiaoyi, then slowly took out his own two fragments and fitted the new piece with them.

It was a perfect fit.

Du Youqian probed it with his Divine Sense.

Because the breaks were incredibly clean and smooth, not much of the information within had been lost.

Du Youqian could finally read the last part of the Jade Scroll.

The location of the Liu Hua Cave Mansion.

He looked up, his expression unreadable. "Master, what do you want to do?"

"Accompany me back to my cave mansion to retrieve something." Feng Xiaoyi’s red lips parted, uttering words that shocked Du Youqian. "I left four Tier Four Puppets to guard the place, but due to some... complications, they won’t recognize me now. I can’t possibly go back alone."

Du Youqian frowned. "Tier Four... four of them? Master, have you perhaps overestimated my strength?"

Feng Xiaoyi smiled. "Under the suppression of this world, these so-called Tier Four Puppets can only display the power of a Peak Tier Three. And I’m not asking you to dismantle them—I’d be heartbroken if you actually did. I have a method that will allow you to stop all four of them with ease."

Du Youqian stared at Feng Xiaoyi without blinking. After a long moment, he finally spoke. "My dearest Master... if we do manage to successfully enter your cave mansion, how can you guarantee you won’t kill me to tie up loose ends?"

Feng Xiaoyi said quietly, "I should be the one worried that you’ll kill me and take my treasures... That’s why I hesitated for so long. I can’t see through your current level of strength at all. I doubt I would last ten breaths against you."

Du Youqian was speechless for a moment.

"As for the various traps and arrays in the cave mansion, you’re a Tier Three Array Master yourself. Would you be afraid of them? Besides, if I can’t even command my own puppets, what makes you think I can control the cave’s Grand Array?"

Du Youqian fell silent for a moment before speaking again. "In the Jade Scroll, Elder Liu Hua said she came from the outside world. Master, if you truly are Elder Liu Hua, can you tell me why you came here from the outside? And why did you stay? Is that passage still there?"

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Jiu Banxiu stared, her eyes fixed on the Great Saint Incarnation.
Compared to the towering throne, which was as large as a mountain peak, the Great Saint Incarnation was just an insignificant speck.
But when the Great Saint Incarnation opened its eyes and stiffly turned its head, the entire world seemed to lose its color. The throne became worthless scrap. It alone was the most vivid, most eternal thing in existence, as if all the light in the universe converged upon its body.
She knew that this Great Saint Incarnation had once been at the Peak of Tier Six, truly unrivaled in the Human World.
It had fallen for the treacherous plot of the despicable Human Race and been ambushed from afar by one of their despicable Tier Seven Harmonization Great Powers, leading to its suppression for the last eight thousand years.
It was safe to say that the Great Saint Incarnation now possessed less than one percent of its original power.
However, even one percent of a Peak Tier Six’s power—or even a thousandth of it—was enough to destroy this Small World.
A Small World like this could suppress Tier Four and Tier Five beings down to Tier Three.
But it was completely incapable of suppressing a Tier Six being!
The Power of the World should have no effect on the Great Saint Incarnation!
It was just like the Blood Slaughter Sword and the Rivers and Mountains Map, two of the Human Race’s most famous Spiritual Treasures, which could also be wielded freely in this Small World without any suppression.
Jiu Banxiu’s hopeful gaze was fixed on the Great Saint Incarnation.
The Great Saint Incarnation finally pushed itself up, slowly getting to its feet.
It glanced downward, then its dazed eyes slowly swept across the surroundings.
Jiu Banxiu knelt, raising her hands high. "Great Saint! Great Saint! You’ve finally awo—"
The words caught in her throat, because the Great Saint Incarnation had vanished from her sight.
She scrambled to her feet in a panic, looking left and right. Her gaze landed on a figure in tattered armor, its fur scorched and matted with dried blood.
The Great Saint Incarnation was standing behind her, its head bowed as if studying the array.
"Great Saint!"
"Stop shouting, little bird. It’s too noisy," the Great Saint finally spoke.
Jiu Banxiu feigned tears of joy. "Great Saint, you’ve finally awakened! I am overjoyed!"
Inwardly, however, she was horrified. ’The Great Saint Incarnation saw my true nature in a single glance.’
"To think eight thousand years have passed..." the Great Saint Incarnation murmured. It was unclear where it had received so much information, but it instantly understood its situation. "Those humans were clever, shoving the South Sea Relics into this Small World to suppress me. If not for you, given the density of Spiritual Qi in this world, I wouldn’t have woken up for another few tens of thousands of years. I would have been suppressed for eternity."
"I must reward you. Tell me, what do you want?" The Great Saint Incarnation suddenly spun around, its intelligent, monkey-like eyes staring at Jiu Banxiu.
The pressure emanating from a Great Saint Incarnation was simply overwhelming.
Jiu Banxiu instinctively dropped to her knees. Swallowing hard, she lowered her head and said, "Great Saint, this is merely what I should have done. I require no reward."
"No, I have always been clear about rewards and punishments," the Great Saint Incarnation said, scratching its furry face with a smirk. "You take your time and think about it. I’m going to attack the Taihe Sect now. Care to come along?"
Jiu Banxiu was ecstatic. "I would be honored to go and cheer for you, Great Saint!"
The Great Saint Incarnation withdrew its gaze from her and stared blankly into space for a moment.
It didn’t speak aloud, but grumbled inwardly. ’Which one of my enemies sent her? I was sleeping soundly, so why wake me in this era of all times? Are they that eager to have the Blood Slaughter come and hack me to pieces?’
