I Can Replicate Martial Arts
Chapter 549 - 280: What Was Seen and Heard on the Return Journey"This is the power of technology!"
Zhao Rui said with a grave expression.
When something is developed to its absolute peak, it often possesses world-shaking power.
This was true for the Martial Dao, true for technology, and true for theology as well.
Zhao Rui never dismissed any civilization, nor did he look down on one.
He had been bombarded with information during the technological explosion of his past life. In this life, he had been baptized by the Spiritual Qi Revival and the charm of the Martial Dao. He had even experienced an inconceivable, alien power like the system.
Zhao Rui maintained a level-headed perspective on all forms of power.
Hearing this, the Five Immortals couldn’t help but nod. Although they were masters from the Martial Arts Realm, they had seen Cosmic Battleships that dominated the stars during their wanderings through space.
That kind of formidable strength was in no way inferior to a Martial Dao expert capable of traversing the cosmic rivers between stars.
But what lay before them now was even more shocking, even more powerful than those massive Cosmic Battleships.
"Let’s go. This teleportation point will send us to a location five hundred light-years from the Bright Divine Domain..."
Zhao Rui said, leading the way toward the Transmission Base ahead.
The massive base resembled a space-time tunnel, densely packed with all sorts of flying machines.
At the platform entrance, Zhao Rui and the others underwent a strict biological contamination scan to prevent certain unique organisms from covertly entering.
Zhao Rui was completely baffled by the robots’ explanation. He had never heard of special organisms hiding like that, but he was certain they, at least, were not among them.
After passing the inspection, a dedicated channel transported them to different space-time teleportation nodes.
The teleportation here wasn’t point-to-point but many-to-many, functioning as a sort of network hub. Teleportation points elsewhere could also set this location as their coordinates to send things over.
Of course, this was limited to authorized cosmic nodes.
Zhao Rui’s group followed the transport craft to the designated area. Traveling with them were many strange-looking creatures.
Humanoid beings made up a third of the travelers, while the rest were non-humanoid intelligent species with rather peculiar appearances.
But their intelligence was not the least bit inferior; in fact, it was even greater than that of the humanoids.
These non-humanoid intelligent species were further divided into technology-based and Martial Dao-based types.
The technology-based ones were similar to humanoids, both specializing in researching cosmic Energy and developing the universe’s potential.
The Martial Dao-based types, however, were different from humanoids. They didn’t evolve by practicing Cultivation of cosmic laws, cultivating their bodies, and absorbing Heaven and Earth Spiritual Qi.
Martial Dao-based non-humanoids primarily focused on strengthening their external physical power.
They were much like the Exotic Beasts of Blue Star, or rather, similar to Chi Hu and its kind—intelligent animals.
Some were terrifyingly large and were stopped at the inspection gate, denied entry.
According to the base robot’s explanation, their physical strength was too great and their bodily density too high, which would affect the quality of the teleportation.
Zhao Rui and his group personally witnessed a dissatisfied, beast-like intelligent creature clash with the guard robots.
This phenomenon gave Zhao Rui a strange feeling, as if humanoid civilizations held a much higher status in the universe.
’If that’s the case, then who sealed Blue Star?’
The transport craft wound its way through various passages before arriving at a vast base. The base was brightly lit, with nearly a hundred floors. Each floor bustled with the flow of different personnel and the transport of materials.
The entire base looked just like an ant nest.
Zhao Rui put on the protective suit required for entry and instantly found all his external Energy senses blocked.
He could only follow the robot in front of him, walking step by step toward the base’s teleportation point.
Although there were many people here, the shielding equipment made everything seem orderly. No one chatted with each other, and no one exchanged greetings.
After traveling for dozens of minutes, Zhao Rui and the others stepped into something that resembled a Spaceship, or perhaps a high-speed train.
As they entered, they were quickly enveloped by a thick liquid inside.
This liquid gradually seeped through their protective suits and into their bodies. In just a moment, every part of their bodies was covered by it.
This liquid possessed a wondrous power. It could resist the intense tearing forces of space-time during a spatial jump, ensuring the safety of the passengers inside.
Creatures that did not accept the protection of this substance were not permitted to enter or use the teleportation device.
Soon, as their bodies were covered by this unique liquid, the entire ship began to travel in high-speed circles. Its velocity climbed steadily, gradually exceeding the speed of light and reaching an inconceivable level.
Everything seemed to stand still.
Zhao Rui could clearly see a shadow of his own future, but he was unable to pinpoint or hold onto it.
’Is this the river of time and space?’
’Or a mirror image created by light speed?’
Zhao Rui mused quietly.
The ship’s speed didn’t stop accelerating just because it had surpassed the speed of light; instead, it grew faster and faster.
After an unknown amount of time, the ship abruptly passed through something like a thin membrane.
It was like popping a soap bubble.
Then, with a POP, the entire ship shot out of the bubble and appeared in the pitch-black, starry sky.
To one side of the star-filled expanse, an equally tall and magnificent cosmic transit station stood quietly, looking down upon the droves of tiny figures who came here to travel through space.
After breaking through the membrane, the ship orbited a ring-shaped device, its speed gradually decreasing. The liquid inside the ship began to recede in an orderly fashion.
Again, after an unknown amount of time, the liquid finished retracting. The ship came to a halt with a low rumble, docking quietly beside a star-pier.
The ship’s doors opened, and a group of robots filed in. They checked the characteristic signals of every being on board, one by one, to identify their life signs.
Once everything was complete, the robots dispersed, and the passengers in the cabin were finally allowed to step out of the ship.
Zhao Rui led the Five Immortals out, feeling somewhat dazed. For a brief moment, time and space had felt chaotic and disordered.
Fortunately, their Divine Souls were powerful. With a slight adjustment, they quickly recovered from the minor discomfort.
Riding a small shuttle craft, Zhao Rui’s group arrived in the outer space of the massive star base.
Before Zhao Rui could even wonder why the robots had brought them here, he saw rows upon rows of transport ships lined up neatly at the interstellar docking station.
It was strangely reminiscent of a taxi stand from his past life, with drivers vying for customers.
The sight left Zhao Rui feeling a bit disoriented.
While he was still dazed, a colossal battleship, a full ten thousand meters long, slowly approached in the distance. Its powerful force field immediately attracted the attention of the base’s guards.
"A battleship this big? Who does it belong to? How powerful is it?"
"I wonder what VIP they’re here to welcome? The Bright Divine Domain is five hundred light-years from here. Could they be here for someone important from the Bright Divine Domain?"
Just as the travelers by the wayside were whispering among themselves, a group of warriors clad in Armor strode over.
The group had an imposing aura, and their Armor was so lustrous it seemed translucent, instantly drawing everyone’s gaze.
"It’s them?"
The Fifth Immortal frowned, because this was the very same group of people they had clashed with outside the base earlier.
