Holding the banknote Dean had given him, the angel expressed his thanks with a broad smile, then left the area briefly to go into one of the houses within the large complex.

Dean, meanwhile, handed out ten-thousand-banknotes to each of the remaining angels in the same way, after which he found a place to sit and settled down naturally.

There was nothing he could do at the moment.

The only way he could get out of here was most likely through those angels, and so he would do his best to continue his training.

Amidst all these thoughts, he spotted the man who had been following him and gestured towards the seat opposite him.

When the man moved over and sat down, he looked carefully at Dean and said calmly, "My name is Harry. I’m glad to see you again, young sir."

Upon hearing these words, Dean nodded and said, "Likewise, Harry. I suppose there’s something you’d like to discuss with me?"

Harry took a deep breath immediately, then said, "Please allow me to serve under you."

"Huh?" Dean muttered. He certainly hadn’t been expecting to hear those words. His gaze was fixed directly on the man.

"You want to work under me? Why is that exactly?"

When Dean asked this question, Harry took another deep breath but this time, without exhaling, replied, "Opportunity."

The moment he heard that word, Dean could no longer contain himself:

"Puhahahaha!!!"

At the sound of Dean’s laughter, Harry was at a loss as to what to do. It could be said that the middle-aged man could do nothing but swallow hard.

When Dean had finished laughing, he looked at him intently and blurted out, "I’ve never met a man like you in my life."

Harry really couldn’t bring himself to say a word.

"I know nothing about you apart from your name. I have no information whatsoever about where you live, how old you are, your family, your personality, whether you’re a good person, or anything of the sort," said Dean, this time in a serious tone of voice.

After that, it was he who took a deep breath and let it out:

"Sigh...."

Then he asked:

"Why on earth should I give you this ’opportunity’?"

At this question, Harry furrowed his brow and shook his head up and down a few times. He looked as if he were thinking.

"My name is Harry Lawrance. I’m 37 years old. I have two sisters and a mother. I live in York. I use Yin and Yang energy, and I have a Mid-Level ghost servant who shares the same energy type."

When Harry said these words, he had truly managed to catch Dean’s attention.

Dean had thought he was begging, that he’d do absolutely anything to get him under his command.

He’d been wrong.

"I’m not very powerful, but I am experienced. You couldn’t exactly call me a good person, but I do try to help those in need. All I need is a chance to prove myself, nothing else."

When Harry finally fell silent, Dean rolled his eyes.

He had already officially taken the Evergold family under his protection.

I mean... this wasn’t a joke.

The Evergold family was, in every sense, a family that could act directly on his command, because Dean was personally regarded as someone directly loyal to Aether.

And indeed he was.

After all, everyone knew of Nemesis’s interest in him.

He knew full well that, should he ask the Evergold family, they would find Dean countless servants, followers and even warriors at a moment’s notice.

So why on earth should Dean even consider taking this person called Harry under his protection?

Actually, the answer was quite simple.

[Loyalty]

It was something that was extremely difficult to attain; indeed, it should be regarded as almost impossible, and which was rarely fully achieved; it was never 100%.

Dean had, in effect, bought the servants in his own castle, regardless of whether they were men or women, or of their age, with his money.

In these circumstances, it was impossible to expect 100% loyalty from them.

The man standing before him, however, was saying he wished to place himself under his command.

Was it possible to win complete loyalty?

That... was truly difficult, and it was hardly possible to give a definitive answer.

Still, one thing was certain.

It... was worth a try.

"All right, Harry," Dean had said suddenly. He’d abruptly stopped speaking respectfully to the man opposite him, his tone taking on a more serious air.

Dean had behaved as if he were addressing a servant.

Harry, for his part, had raised his head, which he’d been bowing whilst Dean spoke to him, and looked at him once more.

"Sir?" Harry had said suddenly.

"I shall take you under my wing, though it won’t be easy. Your family members, your sisters and your mother, will become servants, whilst you, in turn, will be a man who fights by my side when necessary, just as one must in real life."

"If your sisters are of an age to be educated, their duties as servants will be lifted, and they will be enrolled in the highest levels of education, not in schools; I will pay for and arrange everything. If your mother is in good health, she will be a servant, or she will be given another job according to her abilities."

"Provided you do not betray me, which I suspect you will... after all, my trust in humanity is not particularly high, I shall offer you a good life. A life in which you can grow stronger, develop, and, most importantly, live happily with your family."

"However, should you betray me, I must warn you that you will possess nothing, not even yourself, and I will reduce you to a state worse than death."

After uttering all these words, Dean watched Harry’s stunned expression for a moment, then asked calmly, "Is that understood?"

Harry jumped to his feet immediately and, standing to attention like a soldier, shouted, "Yes, sir!"

That was enough for now.
