I Conquer Hell and Heaven With 666 Trillion Coins
Chapter 52: I Might Have a Way"Aether is at war. Whilst the inner regions of Aether are very peaceful, in the outer regions the minor gods and goddesses struggling to survive are forced to fight one another. Many of them were once angels, and a few were even ghosts before becoming angels, and they are, of course, seeking greater power."
"And of course, this leads to the ceaseless battles within such a battlefield, where angels, controlled and manoeuvred as if they were mere pawns, clash with one another."
When Dean heard these words, he paused to think for a few seconds. To be honest, he had many questions he wanted to ask, but in the end, there was only one thing he was truly curious about.
"And you lot?"
The purpose of this question was clear.
Dean was curious.
Which side were these angels, who were here with the remaining humans, on?
"We are members of Aether’s own angelic forces, young master. To put it simply, we are the ones responsible for maintaining security in many cities, even within the imperial palaces themselves, and for protecting innocent people who have done nothing wrong," replied one of the angels.
Upon hearing this, Dean said, "Oh... So you lot are exactly like Mirael."
The angels were taken aback by these words.
"Mirael the Secretary?" asked one of them.
Dean replied, "I have no idea what she does."
"Is this... person called Mirael living inside Etherum City by any chance, young master?" another had asked.
"Yes," Dean had replied, speaking in a perfectly normal tone of voice.
"Woah..." one of the angels couldn’t help but mutter. It was as if none of them could believe what they’d heard.
"I wasn’t expecting you to know Lady Mirael personally," said another of the angels.
"Well, she followed me around the whole time I was in Etherum; I wouldn’t say I knew her all that well, but Mirael seemed like a rather decent person. I was just surprised because of the similarity in your lines of work," Dean had replied.
Still, Dean had wanted to find out for himself who Mirael was.
Even he was taken aback by the angels’ behaviour.
Just as he was about to ask what was going on, the wounded man suddenly interjected, "Who is this Mirael, anyway?"
One of the angels replied immediately:
"Mirael the Secretary. She is an angel who takes her orders from Erebus, the very embodiment of darkness, known as one of the Creator’s two children and one of the two highest-ranking deities within the Archangelic Council."
"Come on, you’ve got to be joking," one of the humans had retorted. He simply couldn’t believe what he’d heard.
The very idea that he was one of the Creator’s children seemed far-fetched to them.
"He’s telling the truth. Mirael isn’t a particularly powerful angel... nor is it possible to regard her as an incredibly holy one. Still, Mirael is very clever... truly very clever. An angel who oversees not only Etherum City but the northern and eastern regions of Aether herself, and who could rally Aether’s army behind her with a single command," added one of the other angels.
When Dean heard these words, he didn’t know what to say.
He certainly hadn’t expected Mirael, who had followed him about as if she were his shadow and treated him with the reverence due a god, to be this sort of person.
"I won’t lie, young Master Decanus... it’s impossible not to respect you. Even setting aside the fact that we’ve been in the Supreme-Goddess’s chamber, the mere fact that you know Mirael makes you untouchable in many quarters."
As the angels shook their heads at these words, Dean rolled his eyes and said, "Very well... It’s quite clear that this matter isn’t important right now. What I want to know is what I need to do."
The angels immediately composed themselves.
"Normally, it’s possible to leave this area, but... unfortunately, our energy reserves are depleted, and we must divert even that small amount of energy we’ve managed to gather to keep the barrier up," replied one of the angels.
When Dean looked at the others, he could see they were gazing at the angels with a look of sorrow.
"You’ve lost a lot of friends, haven’t you?" Dean asked, turning to the angels.
The angels immediately bowed their heads. One could see the sadness in their face even meters away.
It was clear they weren’t bad people. It seemed they had sacrificed themselves for the people here, for those who were constantly sent here.
If there was one thing Dean had to accept, it was that he had to respect these people.
"Is there any way I can help you with this?"
When Dean asked this question, the angels’ gazes turned back to him.
"If you have an object we can draw energy from, something you no longer use, you could help us. Still, we know how valuable objects are to people, especially those that carry energy within them."
When one of the angels spoke these words, Dean smiled.
"Ha!" Dean exclaimed suddenly; there was something he could help them with.
"System, give me a ten-thousand note," the young man thought.
The moment the banknote materialised in his hand, the angels were stunned by the sight.
"What rich energies!!!" one of them shouted.
"Look... Both Life and Death energies are imprinted on it... How?" another asked.
Dean, however, held out the banknote to one of the angels and immediately said, "Try it."
The angel looked at him with tearful eyes.
"Young Master Decanus... We cannot accept this. It’s not just the Nether and Aether coins, but the energies within them... this is far too valuable."
When the angel to whom he’d handed the banknote spoke these words, Dean had struggled not to burst out laughing, before replying, "Don’t worry, even Mirael got two million coins from me. If you do have a way to draw all the energy from here to support and protect not only yourselves but us as well, then it’s fine."
This was what had convinced the angels.
If even Mirael had accepted this money, there should be no problem with them doing so either.
This banknote alone could keep the barrier around them standing for over fifty days.
Countless things could be done with it.
