I Conquer Hell and Heaven With 666 Trillion Coins
Chapter 56: Gotta Be As Fast As PossibleDean ran straight towards the group and, without a moment’s hesitation, thrust the spear he was holding straight forward.
He had gripped the spear by its very tip and thrust it forward as if pushing it through.
He was about to pierce the enemy closest to him in the same way.
"Thunk!"
A heavy thud rang out as the pierced heavy armour caved inwards and Dean drove his spear home with incredible force.
Before he even had time to pull his spear back, the enemy angel had already fallen to the ground.
Percival and the two angels beside him had already managed to kill three enemy angels.
With this attack by Dean, he had killed three of them, too.
Now only three remained, and at that moment these three enemy angels were fighting against eleven.
Dean and, of course, the rest of the group had literally pounced on them.
There was no mercy or any other such sentiment to be found.
The remaining enemy angels were killed in a matter of seconds.
Every corner of this thirty-metre-wide area had turned into a veritable sea of blood.
The angels’ blood was not only red but also white.
The mixture of the two colours seemed to suggest that a magical pool had formed here. To be honest, it was quite a sight. Still, for those who knew what was happening here right now, and for those responsible for creating this pool, it was a grim sight.
Dean had really had to fight the urge not to vomit.
Although the Ghosts were the ones shedding blood, they were still Ghosts. He hadn’t felt this way when he’d killed two of them.
Yet when he’d taken an angel’s life, his whole body had trembled from head to toe.
It was as if he’d killed a being he shouldn’t have.
Still, those feelings had faded away within a short time. They’d had to fade. They were still in a fight-or-flight situation, and they needed to get out of this area as soon as possible and head for open ground.
They had already begun to move away from the centre of the battlefield. They simply had to do their utmost to head straight north.
And that was exactly what they would do.
When Dean withdrew his spear back into his soul, Percival could see that he was gasping for breath and truly in need of help.
The burly Percival immediately embraced his master and couldn’t help but say, "Hang in there, my lord, it’s only the first day."
Dean’s body was certainly not used to all this.
He possessed nothing but his money and a little bit of energy left in his body.
Being thrown straight into a battlefield had certainly not helped him.
It seemed that increasing his body’s resilience was one of the most important things. If he managed to get out of this dungeon alive, it had become absolutely clear what the first thing he would do would be.
In the ten minutes or so that Percival had been carrying him, Dean had already managed to pull himself together.
The angel’s blood on him had dried completely, and the sensation it gave him was starting to feel even worse.
The angels had now begun to observe their surroundings much more carefully. Each of them remained on high alert against any potential danger.
Dean, for his part, kept one hand in his inside pocket, just in case, ready to press the Pocket Watch at any moment.
It was clear that he really didn’t want to take on any danger head-on.
Especially when he was already so exhausted after just a few minutes’ fight.
Of course... that was perfectly normal.
After all, the incident that had befallen him was the abnormal one.
It was simply impossible to view this as if it were a normal occurrence.
He’d been given a task outside of his usual duties. Not only the dungeon he was currently in, but even the previous shipyard dungeon were places he shouldn’t have been in at all.
Although Dean didn’t realise it, the new players he’d encountered in the previous dungeon weren’t actually new at all. Each of them had been playing the Cosmic Terror game since the GAMMA version.
It was simply that each of them had been introduced to the game towards the very end of this version.
The difference in experience between Dean and the others was enormous.
When Dean first set foot in Aether, that is, when he was in Etherum City, he had actually been in the very heart of Aether.
The fact that he is currently fighting in the outer ring, having appeared in a Shipyard city within the Nether that could be considered of good quality, and having previously been in Etherum City... it really ought to have been impossible.
Cosmic Terror was, in essence, designed to help players get used to the game at the very beginning.
So, under normal circumstances, it should have been IMPOSSIBLE for Dean to be here, right now, on this mission.
Harry, who was inside the barrier, had been playing the game since the very beginning of the GAMMA version, and the other people in the barrier weren’t much different from him.
In this situation, there were two possibilities: either the Cosmic Terror itself had glitched, or someone was interfering with Dean’s game.
Both possibilities were equally terrifying.
Mind you... no one could rule out the possibility that both scenarios might be happening simultaneously.
That, however, was a whole other matter.
Still, this wasn’t something he needed to be thinking about right now. Dean didn’t even know how the dungeons worked, let alone anything about this sort of thing.
There was so much more he needed to learn.
Although he spent days scouring the forum every time he left the dungeon, there was, of course, a limit to what he could learn.
That was why he had to try to gather as much information as possible here.
To do this, the obvious thing to do was to head to one of those towns or settlements outside the war zone.
That was exactly what the group were busy doing.
Each of them continued to make incredible progress.
The distance they covered on the first day was nearly 30% of the total journey.
Perhaps it was because they were being so careful, but their progress had become much faster.
