The holy sword cleaved the Lich skeleton in half.

Ethan sheathed the blade.

Crack!!

The skeleton split open, black magic surged out from its body and shot straight into the sky.

Then the Lich’s body, the body of a high-level undead, turned to dust and dissipated into the air.

Eric, Rude, and Caesar stared at the scene dumbfounded, they didn’t snap back to their senses until Ethan walked up to them, prompting all three to stumble a few terrified steps backward.

"Uh, uh..."

"What’s wrong with you guys?" Ethan asked.

"N-Nothing..."

The Lich they couldn’t defeat even fighting with everything they had, annihilated as though it were nothing, how could they not be shocked?

But Ethan didn’t seem to care about their reaction, he watched quietly as the fissures in the ground closed back up.

’Maybe I can use this to till the soil.’

The land the Wrath of the Earth had torn through had become loose and soft.

The earth had split open and closed again, turning the deep, fertile layers up to the surface.

Ethan sat on the ground and grabbed a handful of soft soil.

"U-Um... t-thank you," Eric managed at last.

"It’s nothing, I was just protecting myself too."

’Protecting himself?’ Could what just happened even be considered a battle? But it wasn’t their place to say anything, they could only smile awkwardly.

"Um... that scythe..." Eric pointed at the Scythe of Gaia.

"It was bestowed upon me by the Goddess Gaia."

Ethan brought out the Scythe of Gaia. Eric respectfully took it, examined it closely, and then returned it.

"Your swordsmanship just now was quite extraordinary... Have you used a sword before?"

"Yeah."

Although he had used one, it was nothing special, he was just a farmer now.

"Ah, haha, I see."

Ethan’s short answer told Eric not to pry, the elf sensibly kept his mouth shut.

He glanced at the kiln. "It looks like it’s done firing..."

"Mhm, let’s go take a look."

Ethan opened the kiln and took out the pottery inside. The three elves peered at the ceramics with curiosity, every piece was finely crafted, not a single one cracked or warped, leaving them in awe.

Ethan glazed the pottery and placed them back into the kiln.

"Do they need to be fired again?" Eric asked.

"Yeah, only then can perfect pottery be produced."

Ethan gave a simple explanation and smiled to himself.

In the past, Pearl always helped him explain these things, he hadn’t expected to actually feel a bit odd without the cat around.

"Ethan! We’re back, meow!"

"Never a moment of peace."

Pearl’s shout came from a distance, the white cat bounded toward them with three Beastmen in tow.

"I’m back, meow, Zharok did go to the Canine Beastman village, but he already left with the other Canine Beastmen, meow~"

"Is that so? Thanks for the hard work, when is Zharok coming back?" Ethan asked.

"He seems to have gone somewhere far away, it might take a day before he comes back!" one of the Canine Beastmen said.

"Are they those elf nobles?! To think they actually ran all the way here?"

The three Canine Beastmen looked at Eric and his companions with curiosity, Eric lowered his head in embarrassment.

But the Canine Beastmen didn’t blame them, instead, they grinned and patted their shoulders.

"So brave!"

"To actually dare to run into such a dangerous place! Impressive."

"Do you want to go check out some other, even more dangerous places?"

"Ha, hahaha... No need, thank you," Eric said, waving his hands.

While they were chatting, Ethan glanced at the kiln, the pottery firing was going smoothly.

"You’re making pottery again?" a Canine Beastman asked.

"Never hurts to make a few extra pieces."

"Make some for us too!"

"We can trade for them later."

"Alright!"

Pearl jumped onto Ethan’s shoulder, rubbed its tail against his neck, and said, "I ran all the way here, I’m hungry, meow, Roast a sweet potato for me, meow~"

"Do you want some Candied Sweet Potatoes?" Ethan asked.

"That works too, meow~"

"You guys eat too, you must be tired, let’s have something together," Ethan said to the Canine Beastmen.

"Uh... it seems like Ethan was the only one who actually fought..." one of them said, scratching his head.

"Ethan, you fought, meow?" Pearl asked in surprise.

"Yeah, that Lich chased them all the way here."

Ethan told them what had happened, when he mentioned the Wrath of the Earth, the Canine Beastmen asked in confusion.

"Why did that Lich chase them all the way here?"

"Undead usually don’t leave the cursed lands!"

"He said he wanted to use the elves to make Undead Knights, what’s an Undead Knight?"

"Undead Knights are generals that command low-level undead, meow, they are the direct subordinates of high-level undead and incredibly powerful, meow, however, undead generally don’t make Undead Knights, meow."

Unless they were trying to build an army, Undead Knights were meaningless, and why would the undead want to build an army in the cursed lands? They usually just wanted to stay in their own territories and live quietly.

The Canine Beastmen and Pearl were completely puzzled.

Ethan, meanwhile busy making the Candied Sweet Potatoes, said, "Maybe it’s to fight for territory?"

"Undead? Impossible..."

"Maybe he just wanted to make an Undead Knight for fun?"

If that was the case, there was nothing to be done, Ethan smiled and scooped the finished Candied Sweet Potatoes onto a plate.

"Let’s eat and talk."

"Awesome, meow~!"

Pearl cheered, and everyone began enjoying the Candied Sweet Potatoes.

Just as they were happily eating, an angry voice came from afar.

"You brats!!"

Everyone looked back, Leon was marching toward them, fury written all over his scarred face.

"Ahahaha..."

Leon’s figure blurred, he appeared in front of Eric, Rude, and Caesar in an instant and gave each of them a hard rap on the head.

As the three elves clutched their skulls and groaned, Ethan grabbed Leon’s arm.

"Wait until they finish eating to hit them."

He glanced at the Canine Beastmen who were eating with great relish and smiled. "You don’t even kick a dog when it’s eating, let alone a person."
