After questioning his opponents for a while, Raiden was finally able to extract the story from them.

"So you are telling me that almost everyone who has taken part in this tournament is after us? And each one of your clan elders instructed you to stop us no matter what??" Raiden asked in a disbelieving tone.

"Yeah!! I swear I’m not lying!! Please let me go." Sitting in front of Raiden was a man on his knees, the same man who was the first one to threaten them.

"Those bastards out there, how dare they scheme against big sister?!!" Theodore’s furious voice rang out in the wild as his blood started boiling over, his voice travelling far and wide.

"Calm down, Theo. We already expected them to play dirty somewhere. This is nothing new." Aria’s calm voice rang out from behind, with a touch of sorrow in it.

Even though her father had taken her bloodline and castrated her, it still hurt her a little bit to think about it. He wanted to get rid of her for good.

Theodore took one look at his sorrowful sister, and all his fury just turned into one weary sigh.

"It is okay, big sis!! Don’t worry, your little Theo is here. I’ll definitely protect you and won’t let any harm come to you!!" Theodore petted his chest in confidence, causing her to break out in a smile.

"I am sorry, Raiden. This is turning out to be even more dangerous than I anticipated. If what he says is true, it means that almost every single team here will be after our blood. We will virtually need to fight every single participant in order to win. That is a much bigger risk than what I thought we would encounter earlier. I won’t mind if you want to withdraw right now."

Aria turned towards Raiden and bowed her head as she spoke in a heartfelt voice.

"What nonsense!! Do I look like someone who is going to abandon a beauty in distress?? No way!!" Raiden refuted her in an instant. There is no way he would do something so scumbag-like, especially when the other party helped him when he was nobody.

"But—"

"No buts!! I am not going anywhere. It’s just a group of kids coming at us, right? Don’t worry, I can handle it all alone." Raiden interrupted her in mid speech before he started walking forward.

"No, Raiden, listen to me, it’s dangerou—"

"Lalalalalala~ I am a deaf person, I can’t hear anything~" Raiden plugged his ears as he kept walking forward, singing in an out-of-tune voice.

After trying a few more times and getting similar kinds of responses, Aria just gave up.

"I think it’s going to be fine, Sister Aria. His claim about being invincible on the same level...might be a true one after all." Theodore’s voice had a sense of defeat as he spoke.

Aria stopped in her tracks and debated her choices for quite a while. She looked at the extremely carefree figure who had taken the lead in moving ahead while singing like a banshee.

He looked like he had no sense of worry in this world at all.

"Fine... This favour, I will remember it and pay it back when we go outside." Aria spoke in a determined tone before she set off with a quick step, trying to catch Raiden’s figure in the distance.

After making sure she didn’t have any nefarious thoughts about sending him back, Raiden resumed walking normally again, but this time taking the lead in the front.

He stroked Woolie’s head in his hands absent-mindedly, as he thought about an issue that was taking him for a mile.

Woolie’s uncontrollable anger.

Ever since he had evolved into a Gold-Tier Terra Beast, he had gotten unbelievably stronger, stronger than any other Terra Beast he had seen out in the wild.

Even the strongest Platinum Terra Beast couldn’t compare to him.

But a new problem started to emerge with it. The harder Woolie trained and fought, the angrier he started to become.

Before, when he used to fight while Terra Beast was living in the jungle, it had never gotten too serious, but nowadays his fights had been getting even more brutal every single day.

More often than not, he came home covered in blood and bruises that were not his own, and he still had a cheerful look on his face.

His kind-hearted and adorable nature had started to change recently, as he had gotten even more brutal and bloody. And Raiden had an inkling that the little emperor wasn’t aware of the changes going on inside of him.

Something was entrancing him, and it wasn’t a good thing in any way.

’This can’t go on for any longer. I need to stop letting him fight, at least for now.’ Raiden’s face got covered in a dark haze as he walked forward, before it quickly changed to his regular cheerful self again.

"Alright, you are up next, Neva! If we encounter enemies, you can be the one to take the lead. I’ll be counting on you, girl." Raiden petted the little white spider sitting on his shoulder, who closed her eyes in comfort as she nudged his hand.

"Sha Sha!!" Don’t worry, you can count on me!! I’ll protect you and big brother and sister!!

Neva moved her limbs and petted her chest; her voice was full of confidence.

"Woolie?? Woolie!!" *What?? Why?! Let this Emperor be the one who fights!! I’ll protect you all!!

Woolie spoke with a pout as he started wiggling around in his arms.

"No way! You have already fought once. Let others have a turn too." Raiden spoke in a calm tone as he held Woolie against his chest, who wanted to protest in reply.

"Sha Sha!!" Hahaha, just wait and watch, big brother!! I will take care of them all!!(૭ 。•̀ ᵕ •́。 )૭

"Then I am counting on you. But remember to hold back here, no killing anyone." Raiden warned for a final time as they moved forward, going deeper and deeper into the jungle...
