I Reincarnated As A Dragon With A Devourer System
Chapter 32: Bloodcap MushroomAfter stepping off the pond, a heavy silence fell between the little black dragon and the little white wolf, both of whom were still seriously injured.
Noir stared at the little white wolf for several seconds.
The little white wolf stared at Noir for several seconds.
"..."
"..."
’What should I do? This is getting awkward.’
But the little dragon didn’t think much of it; he tried to move, but his body protested immediately.
The golden sphere scanned every part of his body and then pressed itself against his cheek, as if apologizing for having brought him to this place.
It was the first time that damn traitor had ever seemed truly remorseful; Noir couldn’t believe it.
’Are you okay? Did you eat something bad?’
The sphere retreated, offended; it wasn’t going to let itself be bothered like that. It circled the little white wolf several times, leaving behind several points of light.
The images began to appear: a little dragon could be seen struggling to open a door.
’HEY! Why are you showing him that?’ He hadn’t expected this turn of events.
He felt the puppy’s gaze; disappointed, he even shook his head, as if he couldn’t believe what he was seeing.
’Damn you! You fell face-first onto the bank of the stream; you have no right to look at me like that!’
The little white wolf looked to the right, then to the left, and finally behind him, before turning his gaze back to the little dragon with innocent eyes, as if to say, "Are you talking to me?"
’Y-You... you little bastard...’
Noir couldn’t believe he’d just found someone even more shameless than the golden sphere.
The little white wolf tried to get up, but unfortunately fell flat on his snout.
’HAHAHAHA, you deserve it!’ He laughed like a child... although, if you counted his previous life, he was practically twice as old.
The puppy stared at him, on the verge of tears and growling.
The golden sphere approached Noir and scolded him for making fun of a puppy like that.
’...’
The little dragon let out a long sigh.
’Between a magical deer, a giant monster, and a floating lamp with personality issues—and now a shameless wolf... I think my life is getting really weird.’
Noir sat up and, with a trembling claw, pointed the way.
’Show this beautiful and majestic dragon the way.’
The golden sphere turned and looked at the little black dragon. Then it began to show the way.
***
Noir and the little wolf walked for almost an hour.
Well... "walking" was a bit of an exaggeration; most of the time they were hobbling along, stopping every few minutes to catch their breath.
’I need to eat something to regain my strength.’
The little black dragon looked at the puppy, and a wicked idea crossed his mind, but he quickly shook his head.
’I’m not an edgy protagonist.’
Then, the golden sphere appeared among the bushes and circled several times around a cluster of moss-covered rocks.
Noir followed the golden sphere, and a small cave appeared behind the rocks. It wasn’t very deep, but it was enough to shelter from the wind and hide from any creatures passing through the area.
The puppy went in first, spun around a couple of times, and finally flopped down on the stone floor.
The little dragon did the same as he let out a long sigh of relief.
’At least this way we won’t be sleeping out in the open.’
Then he looked at the golden orb perched on one of his beautiful, majestic horns, proud as ever.
’Proud of having found a cave... wow, do you want a prize?’
However, the comment didn’t seem to affect the orb in the slightest.
Noir looked at the puppy, who had fallen into a deep sleep after all the chaos, and decided to do the same.
It didn’t take him long to fall asleep.

The next five days passed in a simple routine.
The first thing he did, after regaining enough strength to walk without cursing the ancestors of both monsters, was to explore.
’All these plants restore mana, but none of them offer any bonuses. I was hoping to find a miracle herb, but...’ Noir shook his head in disappointment and took another bite of a herb that looked like a blue cloud.
Mana coursed through his body as the Devourer ability absorbed a portion of it to heal him.
Almost at the same time, the familiar window appeared before his eyes.

A second later, the result appeared.
[New magical resource registered.]
[Blue Mist Grass]
A mana-rich herb that grows in areas where the shade of the clouds remains constant. It slightly increases mana regeneration.
The little black dragon let out a sigh; it wasn’t what he was looking for. Although his unique ability, Devourer, was helping him recover.
...It wasn’t enough.
’But this place is speeding up my recovery.’
Noir had noticed it after two days; as a dragon closely connected to mana and nature, that should have made a difference.
He continued exploring the area, but without straying too far from the cave; he didn’t want to run into a monster.
Not long after, he found a small reddish mushroom.
[The unique Skill Devourer has been activated.]
After activating his ability, Noir bit into the mushroom, and the reaction was immediate. He could feel his blood regenerating faster and his wounds healing more quickly. It also slightly increased his mana reserves.
The system notification window reappeared.

The little dragon’s red eyes widened in surprise when he saw the description of the mushroom he had just eaten.
’Thank goodness I’m immune to poison.’
[Bloodcap Mushroom]
A rare crimson mushroom infused with vitality mana. Consuming it temporarily stimulates blood production and accelerates natural recovery, though excessive intake may cause vivid psychedelic hallucinations.
Noir devoured about three more mushrooms; then he couldn’t find any more.
Next, a thin root sticking out from among the rocks, then another plant with elongated leaves. Each time, a new card appeared with different information.
Some were used to restore mana.
Others gave him a slight boost of energy.
He even found a plant so bitter that it took him several seconds to get the taste out of his mouth.
’Ugh... who came up with this?’
As he continued tasting plants, a curious gaze fixed itself on his back.
Noir turned his head.
The young wolf had just come out of the cave.
He was still walking with difficulty, but he looked much better than he had a few days ago.
He stood there watching as the little dragon pulled up another plant... and ate it without a second thought.
The wolf slowly tilted his head; it was as if he were trying to understand what kind of creature was solving all his problems... by eating the garden.
Noir noticed that look and smiled.
’What? Haven’t you ever seen a vegetarian dragon?’
The little wolf gave him a pitying look and went back into the cave, followed by the golden orb, which was enjoying the moment as always.
’...’
Noir stood still, with a blade of grass in his mouth... He wisely decided not to pay any attention to the two bastards and continued munching on grass.
