Chapter 252: Chapter 234: Li Minghan’s Invitation

"The final match of the first round! The winner is Yu Changsheng of the Wanxiang Sect!"

As Mo Pengchen’s deep voice echoed, the disciples of the Wanxiang Sect erupted in cheers, while the mood on the Spirit Dragon Sect’s side grew somber.

Yang Chengxu’s eyes narrowed as he watched Yu Changsheng. After a moment, he suddenly let out a soft laugh, a peculiar look in his eyes.

’That was an easy win. I didn’t even get to see his real skills. That good-for-nothing Li Tao really wasn’t much of a challenge.’

Meanwhile, Tang Chen’s expression darkened. He glanced at Yu Changsheng before slowly closing his eyes, not wanting to arouse his opponent’s suspicion.

Seeing Yu Changsheng walk over, Zhang Tianwen broke into a smile and went to greet him, patting him on the back.

"Nice one. A beautiful victory."

"My opponent just wasn’t that strong. Against anyone else, I’m afraid it would have been a tough fight," Yu Changsheng said, shaking his head with humility.

Li Tao felt wronged.

"That’s still impressive! To have that kind of power with just two of your Spirit Beasts... If you went all out, it looks like no one besides that Yang Chengxu should be a problem," Zhang Tianwen said with a chuckle.

"It was all hard work."

Yu Changsheng chuckled, and they exchanged a few more words.

Up on the judge’s platform, Mo Pengchen’s gaze paused on Yu Changsheng for a moment. He and Mu Yongxian stood up. Mo Pengchen cleared his throat twice, and the noisy arena immediately fell silent.

"Alright. After two days of fierce competition, the first round of the tournament is officially over. I will now announce the list of disciples who have successfully advanced to the next round."

"They are: Jin Zhiran... Tang Chen... Zhang Tianwen... Li Minghan... Yang Chengxu... Shi Lei..."

"And Yu Changsheng!"

As Yu Changsheng’s name was called last, Mo Pengchen’s gaze swept over the disciples below. He smiled, his eyes filled with encouragement, and continued to speak.

"I’d like to congratulate those of you who have successfully advanced. To those who were eliminated, don’t be discouraged. Keep working hard. To summarize, thirty-two participants were eliminated in the first round of this tournament, leaving thirty-two remaining. Of those, fourteen are from our Wanxiang Sect, and eighteen are from the Spirit Dragon Sect."

"There is still a gap between us. The rest of you disciples, remember to train even harder in your daily practice."

After this customary pep talk, today’s competition soon concluded. Mo Pengchen had done most of the talking, while Mu Yongxian remained calm and composed.

As the host, it was only natural that Mu Yongxian didn’t need to concern himself with the details of the competition schedule.

’Fourteen from the Wanxiang Sect and eighteen from the Spirit Dragon Sect, huh? Not bad. The gap isn’t that large.’

Listening to Mo Pengchen, Yu Changsheng mused to himself, unsurprised by the result.

The Wanxiang Sect had indeed been on a decline in recent years. Being this close to the Spirit Dragon Sect was, if anything, to be expected.

’But this doesn’t mean anything. The true measure of the two sects’ strength will be decided by who makes it into the top ten, the top five, and most importantly, who takes first place.’

While he was thinking about this, Li Minghan had snuck up beside him at some point. He chuckled and said, "Changsheng, how are you feeling? The first round is over. Are you adjusting alright?"

"I’m fine," Yu Changsheng nodded. He turned to look at Li Minghan, curious about the Red-scaled Pangolin, but in the end, he didn’t ask.

"Good. If you’re free this afternoon, why not come and visit me at the Ten Thousand Beasts Tower? Our annual auction is today. What do you say we go check it out? We’ve accumulated some pretty good items over the past year. Perhaps there’s something you need, Changsheng."

Li Minghan chuckled as he extended the invitation, his eyes glinting with anticipation.

"Hmm..." Yu Changsheng pondered for a moment, then nodded. "Alright, let’s go take a look. Thanks for the trouble, Senior Brother Li."

"Don’t be so polite. We’re brothers." Li Minghan waved his hand dismissively. The two of them chatted as they flew toward the Ten Thousand Beasts Tower.

Before long, the Ten Thousand Beasts Tower came into view.

From a distance, it was clear that the Ten Thousand Beasts Tower was much livelier than usual. The annual auction always revealed many valuable items, so it naturally attracted a great deal of attention.

Yu Changsheng saw not only people from the Wanxiang Sect, but also many from the surrounding areas, disciples from Minor Sects, and even some of the visiting Cultivators from the Spirit Dragon Sect.

"Young Tower Master!"

Along the way, everyone wearing the uniform of the Ten Thousand Beasts Tower would stop respectfully and greet Li Minghan upon seeing him.

Li Minghan chuckled, nodding in response to the greetings while continuously explaining things to Yu Changsheng.

"The Ten Thousand Beasts Tower is a rather famous merchant guild throughout the continent. Although our main business is buying and selling Spirit Beasts, we deal in other things as well. This auction will have all sorts of items up for grabs, not just Spirit Beasts."

"Although this is just a branch, its influence shouldn’t be underestimated, and we have plenty of good items. The annual auction attracts not only Beast Masters but many other Cultivators as well. When it begins, Changsheng, if you see anything you need, just bid on it."

As Li Minghan spoke, a hint of pride unconsciously appeared on his face. He puffed out his chest and declared confidently:

"As the Young Tower Master, and on my own turf no less, I have at least that much authority. Don’t worry about the money. It’s not an issue."

"Is that so? I’d feel bad about that," Yu Changsheng said, momentarily speechless before shaking his head with a laugh.

"Just say the word if you need anything. What’s the big deal? Anything over what you have, I’ll just lend it to you. No interest." Li Minghan chuckled, scratching his nose subconsciously.
