Chapter 253: Chapter 234: Li Minghan’s Invitation 2

"We’ll see." Yu Changsheng nodded without saying much more, but he committed this friendly gesture to memory.

Whatever Li Minghan’s true intentions were, Yu Changsheng had accepted the goodwill offered.

"Alright." Li Minghan didn’t dwell on it; making his stance clear was enough. With a wave of his hand, he summoned an attendant and gave his orders.

"Go on, take us to the best Celestial Room. Prepare some Spirit Fruits and Spirit Water, and arrange for a couple of attractive female companions."

"Of course, Young Tower Master. This way, please."

The attendant nodded respectfully and began leading the two forward, instructing others to make the arrangements as they walked.

Yu Changsheng raised an eyebrow and shook his head slightly. "There’s no need for all that trouble. And... let’s skip the companions. Um, having the Young Tower Master’s company is more than enough. You don’t have to go to such great lengths."

’These companions from the Ten Thousand Beasts Tower are a bit improper.’

Li Minghan froze for a moment, shooting Yu Changsheng a surprised look before nodding with a smile.

"Alright, no companions it is. It’s rare for Brother Changsheng to do me this honor. Go prepare the finest wine and dishes for the Celestial Room. It’ll be perfect for the two of us to drink and chat."

"We can grab a bite, and the auction starts in about two hours. Perfect."

The Celestial Room, it was said, could not be reserved by anyone less than a most honored guest of the Ten Thousand Beasts Tower. Its occupants were invariably rich and powerful.

The splendor of the interior truly left Yu Changsheng speechless. Though called a room, it was incredibly spacious. The moment he stepped inside, the faint scent of sandalwood surrounded him. Through the intricately carved, openwork window frames, he had an unobstructed view of the auction in the main hall below.

"This is truly luxurious. I bet Cultivation in here is countless times faster than outside."

Yu Changsheng said with a surprised laugh, shaking his head.

"It’s decent," Li Minghan nodded, looking completely used to it. "I usually cultivate here when I have free time. The progress is certainly not slow." He clapped his hands, and lights flared to life from all sides, illuminating the room.

Yu Changsheng took in his surroundings. The walls were inlaid with gold-threaded wood carvings, and the lifelike paintings of flowers and birds made one feel as if they were standing in a garden.

The floor was paved with magnificent Spirit Stone tiles, each one an exquisitely carved work of art that shimmered with a dazzling light. They continuously radiated Spiritual Qi, filling every corner of the room. Unseen, a series of Arrays hummed with power, providing buffs and protection. In the center of the room, a Spirit Banquet was already laid out.

"In the entire Ten Thousand Beasts Tower, this is the one and only Celestial Pavilion, and it’s the most lavishly decorated. Below this are the Earth Character, Profound Character, and Yellow Character pavilion rooms. They’re nice, but they can’t hold a candle to this."

Li Minghan said by way of introduction, gesturing for Yu Changsheng to eat and drink.

"Heh, I guess I’m just enjoying the perks of knowing you," Yu Changsheng chuckled.

"From now on, if you want to come here, just use my name. This place will always be open for you."

Li Minghan waved a dismissive hand, downing a cup of wine with a look of grand generosity.

"That’s really not necessary, but I appreciate the thought." Yu Changsheng gave a wry smile and cupped his fists. He found Li Minghan’s enthusiasm a little overwhelming.

"Don’t worry about it." Li Minghan waved it off. Just then, an attendant approached and whispered something in his ear.

Yu Changsheng quietly sipped his wine, taking care not to interrupt.

When the attendant finished speaking, Li Minghan’s eyes glinted. A faint smile touched his lips as he waved his hand dismissively and said to the attendant,

"Go back and tell him that the Celestial Pavilion already has a distinguished guest. He is free to choose any other room, but he is not to disturb us."

"Understood." The attendant bowed his head respectfully and withdrew.

Once that was handled, Li Minghan turned back, raised his cup to Yu Changsheng with a small smile, and said, "A minor issue, nothing to worry about."

"Oh?" Yu Changsheng nodded, his curiosity piqued. "What was that? I hope it’s not any trouble."

"It’s nothing. The Sect Leader of the Spirit Dragon Sect, Yang Chengxu, has also come to the auction. He wanted to book this Celestial Pavilion."

Li Minghan said with a wave of his hand and a shrug.

"But I’ve already rejected him. Let’s get back to our food."

"I see," Yu Changsheng said, realization dawning. After a moment’s thought, he asked, "Is it really okay to refuse him like that?"

"The Ten Thousand Beasts Tower has no reason to be overly concerned about a mere Inner Sect Disciple from the Spirit Dragon Sect." Li Minghan shook his head, a slight smile playing on his lips as he raised an eyebrow.

"On any other day, I might have let it slide. But you’ve come all this way today, Changsheng. How could I possibly give up the Celestial Room so easily?"

Li Minghan gave a sly grin, and Yu Changsheng could only return it with a helpless, polite smile and a shake of his head, feeling it was best not to say more.

They continued to eat and drink. After about the time it takes for an incense stick to burn, a dissonant voice shattered the tranquility.

"Yang Chengxu, a disciple of the Spirit Dragon Sect, comes to pay his respects to the Young Master of the Ten Thousand Beasts Tower. Would you do me the honor of meeting with me?"

Hearing the voice from outside, Li Minghan put down his chopsticks. He exchanged a troubled look with Yu Changsheng, a hint of irritation showing on his face.

"Let him in. We should at least show him some courtesy,"

Yu Changsheng suggested calmly, a hint of surprise on his face.

"Alright." Li Minghan nodded in resignation. He gave a nod to Yu Changsheng before getting up to open the door himself.

The moment he saw his visitor, Li Minghan’s expression changed completely. Beaming, he chuckled and said, "Well, if it isn’t Senior Brother Yang, the Sect Leader of the Spirit Dragon Sect! Please forgive my poor reception. Come in, have a seat!"

As he welcomed him, he personally poured tea, careful not to show the slightest neglect.

Yang Chengxu returned the smile with a nod. His gaze swept around the room, pausing for a fraction of a second when it landed on Yu Changsheng. A flicker of surprise crossed his eyes, but he recovered instantly, cupping his fists toward Yu Changsheng with a laugh.

"I was wondering which distinguished guest could be here. I never expected it to be Brother Changsheng! I remember you—your victory in the last match was clean and decisive. A brilliant performance. You’re certainly not one to be underestimated."

Yu Changsheng raised a slight eyebrow. He had no desire to analyze the hidden meaning in those words, so he simply replied, "I’m far from Senior Brother Yang’s level. If we do end up meeting, I hope you’ll show mercy and not let me lose too badly."

"It’s hard to say who will be the one needing mercy," Yang Chengxu replied, shaking his head. After looking Yu Changsheng over and exchanging a few more pleasantries, he prepared to take his leave.

"Since you’ve come all this way, why not stay and sit for a while? The room is certainly big enough," Li Minghan offered politely, after a moment’s thought, to the departing Yang Chengxu.

Yang Chengxu paused, a thoughtful expression on his face as if he were tempted. "This Celestial Room really is luxurious. Now that I’m here, I almost don’t want to leave."

Yang Chengxu chuckled, his gaze shifting between Yu Changsheng and Li Minghan. "But today doesn’t seem like the right time. Wouldn’t I just be spoiling the atmosphere? Besides, I have some things to take care of downstairs."

"Since you put it that way, I won’t insist on you staying." A look of regret crossed Li Minghan’s face. After a moment, he waved over an attendant from outside. "Go and clear out the best room, Earth Character Number One, for Senior Brother Yang. Make sure he’s well taken care of."

Having done all this, Li Minghan turned back to Yang Chengxu with an apologetic smile. "If today is truly inconvenient, then I must properly host you some other time. I hope you will do me the honor of attending then."

"Very well. I won’t disturb you any further."

Yang Chengxu nodded. He glanced at Yu Changsheng one last time, gave a faint, meaningful smile, and departed with a cupped fist. The moment he turned, out of their line of sight, the smile on his face vanished, replaced by an icy flash in his eyes and a cold sneer.

’Tomorrow, we’ll see if you’re still smiling then.’

Watching Yang Chengxu’s back as he left, Li Minghan shook his head and scoffed. "What a killjoy. Let’s get back to it. He’s not going to spoil our mood."

"Did he really come over just to say hello? It feels a little strange," Yu Changsheng mused, his brow furrowed. He had a feeling the man had come specifically for them.

"It’s fine. I wasn’t discourteous to him, so there’s nothing to worry about. As the Sect Leader of the Spirit Dragon Sect, surely he’s big-hearted enough to handle it."

Li Minghan said slowly, his brow creased.

"Never mind that. The auction is about to begin."

"There are plenty of good items up for grabs today. Changsheng, if you see anything you need, don’t hesitate to bid. It’s a good chance to boost your strength."
