(Author note: In this second arc, you do not have to side with Aldes or the humans. In this story, there is no good or evil. Everything is based on their respective interests. Enjoy)

Aldes opened his eyes. He felt his body was now much denser and sturdier, although some stiffness remained in his joints. He turned his head to the right. He saw Finea sleeping soundly with a steady breath. The maid's head rested on the edge of the mattress right next to Aldes's hand. The woman's white hair was slightly messy, covering part of her cheek.

Finea.

Aldes moved his right hand slowly toward Finea's head. His movement stopped for a moment in the air. He hesitated. But in the end, he lowered his hand and stroked Finea's hair gently. The surface of the white hair felt soft slipping through his fingers.

Aldes smiled faintly, looking at the woman's sleeping face.

She is very beautiful.

Aldes then realized something. The pain in his body left over from last night had completely disappeared. He now felt much more energized. The mana capacity inside his body felt much denser and flowed quickly beneath his skin.

Several new memories entered his head. Memories of the powers that unlocked automatically when he reached level thirty.

The first power was shooting hot laser energy. The second was minor cellular regeneration. The third was a sharp increase in bodily nerve reflexes. The fourth was a forty percent increase in physical capability. And lastly, mana capacity increased by seventy percent.

Is that all? Aldes muttered in his heart.

Well. It is only level thirty. I should not expect more.

Aldes shifted his gaze, staring straight at his room's window. He focused his mind and used telekinesis. The wooden window was pushed wide open, hitting the stone wall. The morning sunlight immediately beamed brightly, illuminating his bedroom floor. Cool air blew in, hitting Aldes's face and bringing the scent of leafy dew.

I wonder what happened to Illfa. What did Tominus do yesterday after I killed that envoy? Will there be a war? And the letter. What about the fate of that letter.

"Uh. Hmmm." A soft mumbling sound was heard from the side of the bed. Finea moved her shoulders, responding to the touch of cold air from the window.

Finea opened both her eyes slowly. "Morning, Master Al. Des."

Finea stopped speaking. Her consciousness gathered completely. She realized her position, sitting and leaning against the edge of the mattress. She raised her gaze and saw Aldes's hand was still on her head, stroking her hair gently.

Finea's cheeks instantly flushed bright red. She pulled her body back and immediately stood stiffly upright on the bedroom floor. "Master!"

"Morning, Finea," Aldes greeted with a calm expression. "How was your sleep?"

"Huh. That." Finea immediately bowed her head deeply, wringing the edge of her apron. "Forgive me. Forgive me, Master. I fell asleep. I was disrespectful. I. I."

"Thank you, Finea," Aldes said softly. He pulled his hand back onto the mattress.

"Huh?" Finea raised her face, looking at Aldes with a confused expression. "For what, Master. What do you mean. I was truly disrespectful."

"Thank you." Aldes flashed a gentle smile at the woman. "For accompanying me last night."

Finea's pupils dilated for a moment. The temperature at the tips of both her ears heated up. Her eyes darted quickly to the right and left randomly, avoiding direct eye contact. She then turned her body around, facing away from the mattress.

"I. I will prepare b. Breakfast!" Finea said quickly with a nervous voice.

Finea bowed her head briefly, looking toward the door, then hurried out of the room as fast as possible, leaving Aldes alone.

Aldes let out a long sigh, watching Finea leave. "Alright."

He pushed aside his thick blanket and got off the bed. The soles of his feet stepped on the cold wooden floor. He began his morning routine. He took a prone position on the floor and did push ups repeatedly. Afterward, he stood up to do squats. He repeated these physical movements continuously until all the muscles in his body felt sore and burned painfully.
