Magna didn’t feel like he was moving at all, but suddenly Titus and Celeste disappeared from his sight.

’So this is a different dimension.’ Now that he knew where he was thanks to Celeste, he started looking around more carefully and paying closer attention.

The surroundings were too quiet. Even the chirping of birds had completely stopped. Apart from that, there wasn’t any other difference.

Every tree, every patch of grass, every bush was exactly the same.

He had to admit it was truly an incredible spell.

After listening to his surroundings, scanning with his eyes, and trying to feel for any presence nearby, he started to move.

He still knew which direction the old hut was in, so he decided to head that way first.

If he could find Faye along the way, that would be the best outcome, since he could grab her and run away right then.

He also kept murmuring the chant while he walked.

The mana inside him rose and moved with every sound he uttered, though he found it hard to shape it into a pattern.

One reason it was so hard was that there were too many branches to the spell. If the basic Water Spell was like a picture drawn by a three year old child, this spell was like a painting a millionaire had spent a fortune to buy.

The other problem was that he didn’t have enough mana to complete the whole pattern.

Right now, his mana reserves were around 10%. He wasn’t sure of the exact number, but he could roughly guess he needed to be at least around 80% to be able to draw the full pattern inside his body through his mana canals.

With those thoughts in mind and kept practicing, his feet carried him to the front of the hut.

’Luck isn’t on my side today either.’

He hadn’t found any sign of Faye at all on his way here.

So he had to search other areas now.

He didn’t know how big this dimension was, but the space he had experienced before while running from the Fceless Witch was enough to tell him it was vast.

So for his next destination, since he at least knew the way, he started walking toward the place with the screaming skeleton hanging from the tree.

He could guess that Faye would probably never go near that place if she heard the screams.

But if that Faceless Witch had found Faye, that place was likely where she would have taken her.

He just hoped he wouldn’t find Faye’s body hanging from a tree as he moved forward with quick steps.

When Magna reached the place where the skeleton was, he hid behind a tree and peeked out carefully.

The skeleton was still there, hanging by her hands in a red robe, but she wasn’t screaming or moving anymore.

’Is she dead now?’ Magna thought, though she had already looked dead from the start.

To his relief, Faye wasn’t there either, and the Faceless Witch was nowhere to be seen.

He didn’t leave the area right away. Instead, he stayed hidden and began to move closer to the skeleton.

He just wanted to make sure Faye had never come here, so he checked the tracks in the slightly wet, muddy ground.

His assassin trait didn’t give him an extraordinary tracking ability, but it gave him enough experience to notice a detail or two.

There really were footprints on the ground beneath where the skeleton hung, but when he crouched down to examine them, they were a little too big to be Faye’s.

Also, the footprints belonged to bare feet, which probably meant they were the Faceless Witch’s, since she walked around barefoot.

After making sure Faye really hadn’t come here, Magna turned to search a different direction.

But before he could leave the area, a woman’s voice called out to him from above.

"Wait..."

Magna flinched for a moment, raising his guard as he pulled his daggers from his waist.

He looked exactly where the sound had come from and saw the skeleton’s head turned toward him, staring straight at him.

Her jawbone started to move. "Please... help me..."

Magna felt confused about how or where she could even produce that voice, but that wasn’t the main issue.

’There’s no way I’m answering a skeleton’s call for help.’ With that thought, he turned and prepared to leave.

"I know... why you are... here..."

With those next words, though, he stopped again.

There was a good chance the skeleton was just trying to lure him into a trap, or that she had already become a puppet of the Faceless Witch.

Still, thinking there was at least a small possibility the skeleton really did have useful information, he turned his gaze back and asked without lowering his guard.

"What do you know?" he asked without raising his voice too much, all his senses scanning his surroundings for any presence nearby.

"You... are looking for that little girl... right?" The skeleton said slowly, every word seemed to come out forcefully. "I know... where she is... She doesn’t have much... time."

The skeleton seemed to really have useful information, but it wasn’t enough to convince Magna.

"Why would I believe you?"

The skeleton stayed silent for a while, her head bowed. Then her voice came out pleading. "I... just want you to... kill me."

It wasn’t a request to be saved, but asking to be killed was enough to make Magna slightly believe her now. Even slightly was enough for the situation he was in.

"First tell me where she is. Then I’ll think about it."

The skeleton didn’t hesitate at all and didn’t seem to care about the answer Magna gave, even with the uncertainty.

She raised her head toward a direction. "She went... that way a little while ago. You need... to hurry... if you want to find her... before that... Witch does."

Her voice trembled toward the end of her sentence, as even imagining what she had just said coming true was enough to terrify her.

Magna looked in that direction too. He could only see big trees, but it was enough for him to decide on his next search point.

He raised one of the daggers in his hand, drew his arm back, and threw it at the rope binding the skeleton’s hands.

The rope snapped instantly, letting the bones fall to the ground.

"Are you dead?" Magna asked the pile of bones lying on the ground in a worn robe, glancing around at the same time to check if the noise he’d made had caught anyone’s attention he didn’t want.

"Not... yet..." The skeleton spoke while slowly pushing her body up from the ground.

"I’m sorry then. You should find a way to kill yourself," Magna said coldly, showing no emotion, as he walked over to retrieve his dagger from where it had fallen.

After he picked up his dagger, he started moving toward the place where Faye might be.

The skeleton finally stood upright after forcing her body with much effort.

Her empty eye sockets watched his figure disappear among the trees.

She then began to move her shaking, clacking body to follow behind him.
