I'm Turning Into Gacha Characters?!

Chapter 586 - 586: Turned Into Gacha?! - 586

The discipline within the Loki Familia is truly beyond reproach.

During the time Sushang spent conversing with Finn, even though everyone was burning with curiosity about the massive golden sword that had pinned the floor boss to the ground, not a single person wandered away from the formation out of impatience, nor did anyone come forward to ask why they weren't pressing onward.

Once a consensus had been reached, Finn was in high spirits. He personally explained to the adventurers behind him that they would be abandoning the current floor boss.

As compensation, he promised to pull from his own personal share and the Familia's activity funds to reimburse them.

In truth, he didn't have to compensate them; at most, it would have just left a bitter taste in their mouths. But by offering compensation, the cohesion of the group skyrocketed, and their sense of belonging to the Familia deepened even further.

To Finn, this was an incredibly worthwhile investment.

As they walked toward the next floor, Finn glanced back at the Goliath lying on the ground. "Will that be alright?"

"The Qi I left behind will dissipate after a while," Sushang explained.

Qi. Another term he hadn't heard before.

"A pleasure to meet you. I didn't have a chance to introduce myself earlier."

Beside them, an Elf woman with long green hair, exquisite features, and a poised, elegant demeanor spoke up. "I am Riveria Ljos Alf, vice-captain of the Loki Familia. As you can see, I am a mage."

Since they had decided to travel together—even if only as temporary companions—exchanging names was a matter of courtesy.

As the other two pillars of the Loki Familia alongside Finn, it was natural for Riveria and Gareth to take the lead.

Elves are an incredibly prideful race. They rarely show warmth to those they do not approve of, and some wouldn't even tolerate such people touching them.

Riveria had lived in human society for quite some time; having left her homeland at seventy-one, she was well over a century old today.

Consequently, she was much better at enduring and suppressing her elven instincts than others of her kind. Even so, it was extremely rare to see her take the initiative to be so friendly.

After all, she wasn't just an Elf; she was the "Nine Hell," Orario's greatest contemporary mage.

"Nice to meet you, Riveria. Speaking of which, Furina also uses magic. I wonder if she could borrow some of your experience? I'm afraid I only know how to wield a blade; I haven't the slightest clue about magic."

Sushang knew a bit about Elves—after all, Ryuu was one—though she mostly treated that knowledge as background lore.

Regardless of whether it was Ryuu or Riveria, neither showed any of the legendary elven arrogance toward her. They weren't overly affectionate, either; they just maintained a standard, polite attitude.

"Since you don't use honorifics with Finn, there is no need for them with me, either," Riveria replied. "However... magic, you say? Hmm. I recall your friend is not of the elven race. In that case, the help I can provide may be quite limited."

Elves are a race gifted with magic, but even if their bodies resemble those of humans, they are fundamentally different. Over the years, the only "apprentice" Riveria could truly claim in magic was Lefiya, a fellow Elf.

Adventurers could only really teach each other techniques for using magic, because in most cases, magic was determined by one's Falna and could not be imparted to others.

Still... that fountain diva is only a Level 1, right? She's already awakened magic at Level 1... She really is a talented child. Loki's eye for talent never misses.

"Gareth Landrock. I never expected someone as young as you to possess such formidable power. Hahaha!" The Dwarf adventurer looked up at Sushang with a grin. "If Loki saw you, she'd surely make a huge scene begging you to join the Loki Familia!"

Huh? Is that how it works? No, having met Hestia, Sushang found it hard to harbor any illusions about the personalities of the gods in this world.

"Haha, well, I've been prodded to train since I was a little kid." Sushang returned his smile, but didn't bring up the topic of joining a Familia.

A pity. Looks like no matter how unwilling Loki is, there's nothing to be done about it. Gareth pondered how to deal with a drunken Loki later while responding aloud, casually steering the conversation toward the blonde girl. "Started training as a kid, eh? Just like Ais."

Sushang's gaze followed his, landing on the famous Sword Princess who had been walking beside her, eyes fixed firmly on her.

"Er, I've been curious since we started. Miss Ais? Is there something about me that catches your attention?" Sushang had never really been stared at so intensely by someone she had just met.

"Her name is Ais Wallenstein." Tiona poked the blonde girl's cheek.

Under the pressure of her finger, Ais's face—which seemed to have the words "poker face" written all over it—was forced into a comical expression. "Don't let her cold exterior fool you; this kid just doesn't know how to express herself."

"Tiona..." Ais pushed her mischievous hand away, sounding displeased.

I see. Rather than cold, she seems more like a ditz... Is she one of those "reckless" character types who is single-mindedly focused on getting stronger?

It's pretty rare to see that trope used for a heroine. Still, she's actually quite cute.

"Miss Ais seems quite obsessed with becoming stronger," Sushang noted.

"Mmh... I want to become stronger. No matter the cost."

Although she said "no matter the cost," anyone could tell at a glance that she wasn't the type to do anything underhanded; she was likely the type to view pushing herself beyond her limits as the only "cost" required.

"I see..." Sushang wasn't so presumptuous as to ask the reason behind such a desperate desire for strength right off the bat. "But even if you stare at me like that, you won't become stronger instantly."

"Sorry..." Hearing this, Ais realized the truth of the statement and lowered her head, looking disheartened.

Seeing the poor golden-haired girl looking like that made Sushang feel like watching her for a few seconds longer.

"You can just call me Ais." After only a moment, the girl regained her composure and returned to her 'cold' expression. "After all, Sushang is someone I need to learn from."

She paused, wearing a thoughtful expression, and then added, "Should I call you... Master Sushang?"

"That's not necessary! It's just a footwork technique." Sushang was on equal footing even with Furina. While she knew she had reached the point where she could take on an apprentice, she felt that, for her, being a disciple suited her better.

Besides, she was worried that Fu Hua and Senti might have some kind of "grandparent-grandchild" attachment quirk; if she wasn't the "youngest" anymore, she might not be the most pampered one.

That was absolutely unacceptable!
