Chapter 32: Chapter 32: The Bald Brothers

"It’s him. I saw him flirting with Miss Maki. Not only that, she also seemed very enthusiastic while talking to him."

In the back, three muscular men with bald heads and thin mustaches were talking to each other while glancing at Derrick.

"Big brother, how long have you been chasing her, and every time she ignored you? Now? Just one handsome young man arrived, and she is purring before him like a little kitten."

"That damned woman!" The most bulky guy standing in the middle slammed his fist on the wall he was leaning on. "How dare she play with my heart like that?!"

"Indeed. Big brother, you have been so genuine about your feelings for her. She does not deserve you." The guy on the right pumped his muscles dramatically as a lone tear dripped from his eyes.

The one on the left nodded with equal emotions before asking, "But what about him? Should we teach the newbie a lesson? Let him know the depths of heaven."

"Of course." The big bald brother nodded along safely. "The young man saw Mount Tai and dared to ignore it. He needs to be taught a lesson so he does not suffer in the real world."

"Indeed, brother is wise."

"All hail, Brother Yamtcha."

After a string of praises and ass-licking, they finally stopped. The three of them finally raised their heads to focus on Derrick once more and took a step in his direction.

"Let’s go and put the newbie back in his plac—" The moment he said those words, the big brother in the middle froze. "Hey, tell me something. Am I seeing what you are seeing, or did I develop some rare form of myopia?"

On the treadmill, Derrick was now running at a speed no normal human could possibly run.

40 miles per hour. Or 64 Kilometers/hour.

"You are not the only one, brother..."

His legs were now moving like a blurring pendulum. Everyone in the area was now staring at Derrick in shock and awe.

"What power."

"Is he even human?"

"He has to be in the middle of the physical Strengthening Realm. At his age, that is scary." There were many Physical Strengthening Realm humans in the gym, but most of them were at a low level.

They would have reached the middle stage, but they could not afford so many pills.

Even the ones who were at the middle stage looked at Derrick like he was some sort of alien.

Just when they thought Derrick would stop, he continued to increase his speed.

50 Miles/hour...

60...

And finally, 65.

He broke through the mark of 100 Kilometers per hour, and the people around him went white seeing that.

"That... not even I can do that." One of the middle-stage Physical Strengthening Realm gym members could not help but suck in a cold breath, "the max I reached was 50."

"He is already in the Late stage? What a monster."

Unlike the crowd of onlookers, the three bald brothers were not even Physical Strengthening Realm beings; they were just very highly trained normal humans.

"Brother... I think that insolent brat sneaked away while we were not looking. That is someone else. We should go somewhere else and look for him."

Hearing the words of the brother on the right, the other two nodded frantically.

"Indeed, what you said is correct, my little brother. The one before us is Mount Tai Senior. It could not be that brat. Let’s go."

The three ran even faster than a low-stage Physical Strengthening Realm human.

...

"That run felt so freeing. I never ran so fast in my life before." Derrick finally hit the weight floor like he could not wait to get his hands on those rods.

He did not expect to create a muscular body by joining the gym; he just wanted to make his body reach its limit before he popped the second pill and repeated the whole thing.

Derrick calculated his strength and put on a 200-kilogram load on the road. The rod alone weighed around 50 kilograms. Derrick turned his head, and the man on his right was bench pressing the same weight without any trouble.

But for a lean, unassuming sixteen-year-old who looked like he had just gotten out of school, it was enough to make heads turn.

"Look, the new guy is overestimating himself on the first day." A guy two racks over stopped mid-set to stare. Someone near the mirrors elbowed their friend and pointed. "Is he copying the man beside him? Does he not know that Mr. Greer is an all-time weightlifting champion at this gym?"

"I remember when I went full-on hell mode on the first day only to end up unable to move a finger the next morning."

"You too? I did the same, and I barely got the will to keep coming back here."

Derrick ignored all of the comments about him and kept going; he calmly pushed the rod from the stand and did the first press.

Chrrr!

"Did he rip a muscle?" Someone could not help but comment, but when they looked over, they saw that it was his T-shirt that had ripped, revealing a set of dense muscles. "What the—"

My old body could barely carry groceries up two flights of stairs, he thought, chest heaving, sweat soaking through the leftover parts of his shirt. Now I can benchpress a small Car. I could get used to this.

By the time he finished training his upper body, the men who were laughing at him before or mocking him were now looking at him with their jaws hanging.

"Is he a super abled human or what?"

"No normal human can do that at his age. He must be a candidate for one of the Guild academies."

Most of the people in this section of the Gym were around middle- or upper-stage Physical Strengthening Realm Humans. All of them were stronger than Derrick, but none could say that they could have done something like what he did at his age.

Even though they were not affiliated with the guild, they could get their hands on the pills easily available to the normal public.

Only the pills for the Superpower Stage, which was a rank above the Enhanced Being Stage, were closely guarded by the government and the guild.

One would need a proper clearance from the government just to buy those pills.

Some of the people who mocked him from the distance before came to talk to Derrick, praising him for his strength and giving him tips.

They were all doing that to make connections with him, to become friends with someone who clearly had a bright future ahead of him.

Derrick smiled and shook their hands before he decided to take a break and walked around the Gym, exploring everything they had.

One of the trainers offered to guide him around since he was free anyway.

"You have already seen the cardio section and the weights sections. Let me show you the ring."
