Chapter 35: Chapter 35: Breaking Through Once More

One after another, Derrick popped those pills in his mouth without waiting for the first one to be completely digested.

Taking so many pills at once came with consequences, and Derrick knew that, but he still did it anyway.

By the time he took the third pill, he felt full. Stuffed.

His body temperature continued to rise. His eyes bulged as his heart started beating faster and his veins pumped with blood.

So Derrick lunged down.

He swallowed the pill along with half of his hand and fell face-first into the pool of gel.

And the moment the fiery blood-red pill slithered down his throat, he could taste the blood in his mouth and feel his brain throbbing.

’Am I going to die, again?’ That was the only thought that remained in his mind for the next few moments.

Until finally the pill touched the contents of his stomach and dissolved completely.

He heard a faint ringing voice in the distance even though the voice sounded directly in his mind.

With all of his remaining will, Derrick accepted the reward, and it was like he had suddenly fallen into an ice bath right after burning in molten lava.

All the pain and throbbing disappeared from his mind. His body temperature slowly returned to normal. All the internal injuries that he could feel or did not even know about healed instantly.

Derrick explained everything to her and even how he had broken the edges.

Since he had already ordered a replacement, Rebecca was not angry. She just told him to be careful.
