Looking around the now-empty room, void of all the wealth it once held, I felt a hint of wistfulness surround my heart.

Clementine, Reazue, and Kuvie had finished transporting their haul half an hour ago.

Well, I finally finished analyzing the locks to every succeeding room.

It really took me a while. Even with my information-gathering abilities, actual problem-solving was a little harder than I thought.

It was like facing an engineering exam with open notes, open internet, open professors, and even open answers... But the solution was awful enough to induce despair.

I had to go through the method to unlock it, one step at a time, confirming with my Gift that each sequence of the process proceeded correctly.

The lack of a key and a qualifying status made it so that she could not access it just yet.

Unlike the trio, there was no need for me to risk discovery by transporting everything by hand.

Then, with the <Power of the Sky> and <Power of Death>, he swept everything into the ruby ring on his finger.

It was efficient and perfect.

None of the items were damaged thanks to the cushioning effect of the <Power of Death>, making sure the riches maintained their respective qualities.

Rinse and repeat.

Aventine collected about twenty-four artifacts, some as big as the appliances he had back on Earth and some were small, like the Emerald Gleam Pippette that could automatically siphon the required liquids at will.

All of these artifacts were practical and specialized. Though they weren’t unique like the ones he specifically searched for, they essentially raised the standard of his wealth.

Aventine was definitely satisfied by the hall.

Thus came the final room.

Unlike the other six, the last room in the legacy chamber appeared ritualistic.

Concentric circles filled with runes and supplemented with detailed sigils.

The subtle hum of mana coursed throughout the room.

"Aha~"

It was exactly as Aventine had sensed it to be.

His footsteps led him to the center of the room where an eyeball was floating in mid-air, gazing at him with intrigue.

Curiosity gleamed in its gaze, mirroring Aventine’s own.

Now that he was face to face with the final treasure, the mana expenditure would be at its lowest.

The complete knowledge of what the eyeball was flooded his mind.

All of the things he avoided knowing for the sake of delayed satisfaction finally appeared.

It was one of the eight eyes of a High Snakespawn—a greater species akin to High Humans—and contained the <Trait>, <Perfect Estimate>.

It was a <Trait> that allowed one to eyeball anything and obtain an exact measurement. Though it seemed to be a perception-type <Trait> that Aventine had no need for...

"It’s actually a mental-type."

Why? Because he didn’t actually have to sense anything to eyeball something. He could simply estimate any abstract idea in his mind and get a precise answer.

Like when imagining if a piano can fit through your door, but you don’t have the piano yet, thus forcing you to imagine the general size of a piano from your knowledge and seeing if it could indeed fit.

Most humans were capable of general estimates; after all, it’s quite easy to see that cars won’t fit through human doorways.

Meanwhile, pilots, truck drivers, and construction workers also hone their estimation abilities to an amazing degree by nature of their work.

Still, they were all susceptible to errors and minor deviations.

With <Perfect Estimate>, however, Aventine’s estimations would be, as its name implied... perfect.

Furthermore!

If Aventine collected all eight of Bhulmasine’s colored eyes, he could merge all eight <Traits> and reform the <Trait> that the original High Snakespawn had:

<Deduction>.

A powerful mental-type <Trait> that stood at the lofty A-Rank and spoke for itself.

"Hahahahaha!"

Aventine’s laughter flooded the room.

His eyes shone with a deep blue glow, emanating from the mana he was expending for the sake of his Gift.

With <Perfect Estimate>, he could finally take another significant step forward in becoming the most optimal vessel for omniscience.

Thus.

With an outstretched hand, Aventine grabbed the <Blue Eye of Bhulmasine> and crushed it where it was.

—Splotch!

A disgusting sound of squished flesh.

Suddenly, Aventine gained a wisp of enlightenment. His brain could function more efficiently, no longer struggling as much as it did before under the weight of [Absolute Awareness].

Though it was still far from being able to withstand the true breadth of his Gift, it was enough for the moment.

It was a liberating feeling, like half a headache had somehow vanished.

After taking a deep breath and after a brief moment to admire this newfound feeling, Aventine opened up the Gaea System’s screens...
