Infinite Mana In The Apocalypse

Chapter 5335: Sword of Existence! III

Chapter 5335: Sword of Existence! III

Noah’s eyes shone as he took in the full breadth of THE Hallowed Demesne, the grasslands and the golden trees and the mountain of obsidian gold structures and the lounging Relictus and the distant terrifying auras.

On his shoulder, Seo-yeon’s eyes sparkled.

"Wow," she breathed. "Seo-yeon has never seen anything like this before!"

She looked around at everything, her small head turning to take it all in. "I was locked up this whole time. The whole, whole time! I only ever saw the storm and the endings and the dark. I never saw grasslands. Or gold trees. Or big lazy lizards just lying around like that!"

She pointed at a lounging Relictus with the delighted lack of fear of an entity who was understanding that existence was suddenly full of wonderful things. "Look at them! They’re so big and fat and they don’t even care about anything!"

She said it casually, joyfully, the simple wonder of a being seeing the open world for the first time after an eternity of confinement, and Noah couldnt help but smile. She deserved to see grasslands. She deserved to point at lazy lizards!

He turned his attention back to Sir William’s words, and one phrase had caught on something in his mind.

"Her Majesty?" he asked. "THE Queen Regnant?"

Sir William stood taller still.

Around them, the other three Source Lifeforms who had fought at Chernobyl appeared, materializing from their own transit through THE Undefined Gaps, and the twelve Relictus that had answered Sir William’s call settled onto the grasslands behind them, taking their places among the lounging native Relictus with the ease of beings returning home. The full party that had escaped Chernobyl reassembled in THE Hallowed Demesne, and Sir William spoke into their gathering with the gravity of someone introducing the being he answered to above all others.

"Her Majesty, Victoria," he said. "THE Queen Regnant of THE Hallowed Demesne and many other regions of THE Source Lands. She is the one who unified the Source Lifeforms of these regions of THE Source Lands under a single banner, in an age when they moved as scattered powers without common cause, each pursuing their own survival and their own ascension and answering to nothing but themselves."

"She gathered them. She gave them a standard to serve and an order to belong to, and she did it not through conquest but through the simple fact of what she was, a being so undeniable that the proud and the powerful chose to follow her rather than continue alone."

He let the weight of it settle.

"She is the First Sword of Existence. THE Origin Sword. The one from whom the designation itself descends, the being whose example defined what it means to be a blade of existence that serves THE Primordial Source and follows its own Way. Every Sword that has ever been sworn was sworn in the tradition she began." He looked at Noah directly.

"And you have more than shown your capability to be a Sword of Existence. What you did in Chernobyl exceeded what any trial would have asked of you. You demonstrated something that the Swords of Existence have never seen a candidate demonstrate. There is no further trial required. You can be sworn in her name, and take your Oath, today."

...!

Oh?

Noah’s eyes shone brightly as he turned the introduction over in his mind.

THE Origin Sword. The First Sword of Existence. A being who had unified millions of Source Lifeforms under a single banner not through conquest but through the sheer undeniability of what she was!

A Queen Regnant who sat at the head of all of this, of THE Hallowed Demesne and its mountains of obsidian gold structures and its lounging Relictus and its distant terrifying auras.

What Scale was a being like that in?

He could sense the auras throughout THE Hallowed Demesne, Third Scale and Fourth Scale and things that pressed beyond what he could cleanly categorize, and if those were the beings who served her, who lived within her order and followed her rule, then the being they all answered to had to be something he did not yet have a frame for.

Something that made even the gathered power of THE Hallowed Demesne into subjects!

Without any further tests, without any more trials, on the strength of what he had shown in Chernobyl alone, he could be sworn as a Sword of Existence.

He smiled.

Seo-yeon swung her legs on his shoulder and looked around at the wonderful new world, and Noah looked toward the distant mountain of obsidian gold where a being he very much wanted to understand was waiting.

"Today, then," he said.

Noah moved across the green-gold grasslands of THE Hallowed Demesne, following Sir William toward the distant mountain of obsidian gold structures.

Seo-yeon did not stay on his shoulder. She floated off to drift near the lounging Relictus, her eyes wide with wonder, examining the vast obsidian-scaled creatures the way a child examined animals at a place built for looking at animals.

She circled one of them, peering at its scales, its claws, the slow rise and fall of its massive flank as it rested, and the Relictus tolerated this with the lazy patience of a being that had seen many curious things across its long existence and found a small girl among the least concerning.

One of them, however, was less patient.

A Relictus toward the edge of the group lifted its head and released a portion of its Fourth Scale pressure toward Seo-yeon, just a sliver of its Intent, the kind of thing a large creature did to shoo away something small that had gotten too close. It was not malice. It was annoyance, the equivalent of a swat, meant to startle the little girl into giving it space.

Seo-yeon startled.

Then she pouted.

And then she swung her small hand toward the Relictus.

HUUUM!

A sharp Akashic Civilizational Intent filled with budding Infinity and THE Primordial Source erupted from her tiny frame, vast and sudden and entirely disproportionate to her size, and it swept past the Relictus and threw the Fourth Scale creature miles across the grasslands, the obsidian-scaled body tumbling through the air before crashing down in the distance with a force that left a furrow in the green-gold earth!

Silence fell across the immediate area!
