"Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven!"
The moment the Soviet finished speaking, Zhang Wenda felt as if his body had passed through a thin membrane. The world instantly brightened, and a sacred white light enveloped everything around him.
The thirty-meter-wide, empty training room disappeared. In its place, a vast sky filled with holy white clouds instantly unfurled with him at its center.
When he looked up, he was shocked to see a giant eyeball with three pairs of wings.
"Is that... an Angel?!"
The Angel once captured by the Big Circle appeared before Zhang Wenda again—and it wasn’t just one, but eight!
All the Angels were imprisoned by green circuit boards, completely transformed into immobile engines.
But unlike the Big Circle’s Angel Engine, these eight Angels did not wail, even though they were completely restrained.
Countless data cables extended from their bodies, reaching deep into the clouds.
Accompanied by a resonant hum, the countless data cables were gradually pulled from the clouds along with some kind of liquid. At the other end of the cables was a colossal, mechanical God, wearing a crown of thorns made of cement and with a body pieced together from heavy metal structures.
The mechanical God, powered by the eight Angel Engines, was bound to a giant cross shaped like a hammer and sickle, cast from reinforced concrete.
As if operating a puppet, the Angels pulled on the data cables covering the God’s entire body. With a metallic CREAK, the God slowly raised its head and looked at Zhang Wenda.
In that single moment, Zhang Wenda’s body instantly shattered, breaking apart into monstrous rabbits and children of three different colors.
When these three-colored forms shattered again, the Hippocampus Zhang Wenda had seen before, along with various other bizarre creatures, burst forth in an instant, like a cosmic Big Bang.
Zhang Wenda had no idea what happened next. It was as if his consciousness had vanished, his body and soul both splintered into hundreds of pieces.
But in the final moment before he lost consciousness, he faintly heard a familiar roar.
When Zhang Wenda regained consciousness, he had no idea how much time had passed. The scalped, blind man was still kneeling like a statue, but a tear had appeared on his white, judo-gi-like clothes.
"What just happened?" Zhang Wenda asked, struggling up from the ground.
"I opened a temporary thought wave to give you a taste of the path we are to walk. If all goes well, you will possess this power too."
Zhang Wenda recalled the sensation—the utter inability to resist, a power that could rival Qianxi’s ability!
At the thought of mastering this power, his body couldn’t help but tremble with excitement. He had been searching for so long, and now, he finally saw a glimmer of hope!
The blind white man looked up, giving Zhang Wenda an approving glance. "You’re not bad. Very few people can fight back while in a state of dissolution."
Hearing this, Zhang Wenda looked at him eagerly. "How do I start? How can I begin to master this Thought Wave Ability?"
"Don’t be so hasty. You have a great deal of talent, but we must take this one step at a time. We’ll begin with the most basic training."
As he spoke, the man finally stood up. Only then did Zhang Wenda realize he was also missing a leg.
"I’m sure you’ve heard the rumors. We Soviets excel at Spiritual Control. In truth, this isn’t unique to us. For anyone who wishes to master the Thought Wave Ability, the first step is to control your own mind."
"How do I control it?"
"Meditation. Breathe deeply. Clear your mind."
Zhang Wenda did as instructed, but it was no simple task, especially since he wasn’t a very calm person.
"Meditation. Breathe deeply. Clear your mind." As the man repeated the words, he pressed a finger to Zhang Wenda’s brow, and voices of three different colors exploded in his mind.
The yellow one wondered, ’Will an empty brain float away?’
The blue one reasoned, ’He’s making us train our focus.’
The red one raged, ’This is impossible! He’s making me uncomfortable. Attack him! Make this feeling stop!’
Following these three voices came a cacophony of other noises, so loud he could barely keep his eyes closed.
’You’re a waste of space. You’re worthless...’
’Why is this taking so long? What am I even doing?’
’Will this method even work?’
’Can I do this? Am I losing focus?’
’Why was the God in the Soviet’s thought wave a puppet?’
Some of these were his own thoughts, but others were not.
As the voices grew louder, Zhang Wenda’s eyes snapped open. In that instant, he could see the noise. His own thoughts had materialized as intertwined black threads, weaving in and out of his body.
Upon seeing those thoughts, Zhang Wenda suddenly understood the source of that alien feeling.
As Zhang Wenda came to this realization, an even larger ball of thought materialized before him. ’This is the Spiritual World! Whether it was the liquid I drank or the Soviet’s touch, he’s sent me into the Spiritual World!’
In his Spiritual World, every thought and association manifested before him as something tangible.
It was obvious that learning the Thought Wave Ability was intimately connected to the Spiritual World. ’I need to first learn how to eliminate all distracting thoughts.’
’Only by first learning to control my own mind can I control the space outside it.’
’Clear my mind? No, I can’t think about how to do it. So what should I do?’ Watching a new ball of thought appear as an old one vanished, Zhang Wenda recalled the method he had used to escape his office before.
’Attack them! Attack them!’ an urgent voice echoed in Zhang Wenda’s mind.
’Can I attack my own thoughts?’ As the idea to attack surfaced in his mind, he found that his fingers had turned into sickles.
’Maybe I can give it a try.’ Zhang Wenda rushed forward, charging toward the ball of thought and plunging his claws directly into it.
Almost instinctively, Zhang Wenda grabbed the ball of thought, stuffed it into his mouth, and swallowed hard. In an instant, the idea vanished from his mind.
Zhang Wenda had finally found the trick. His body flickered, moving with incredible speed as he frantically attacked the thoughts that continuously appeared.
As his attacks grew faster, the other thoughts vanished, and Zhang Wenda felt his mind grow increasingly empty.
Just as everything was going smoothly and Zhang Wenda thought the training session would soon be over, the unexpected happened.
All the other thoughts were gone, but one red thought remained, refusing to stay still. Neither his attacks nor his attempts to swallow it had any effect.
For some unknown reason, Zhang Wenda noticed the red mass gradually growing larger. ’Something is clearly wrong with this,’ he thought. ’Why is there something like this in my Spiritual World?!’
