Infinite Rebate: I Get Richer Every Time I Spend
Chapter 286: The Board Is MovingDurnik walked back toward the bedroom still smiling.
He had gone outside ready to explode, ready to curse Gracie’s name into the night. Instead, everything had turned in his favor. She had stripped down for him, apologized like a guilty little pet, touched herself on camera, and then asked to work under him.
By the time the call ended, the humiliation from earlier in the day felt smaller than the image of her bare breasts and wet dildo still stuck in his head.
He pushed the door open quietly.
Rebecca was already inside.
She sat near the edge of the bed in thin silk pajamas, the kind that looked soft under the lamp light and clung just enough to show the shape beneath. The top rested loosely against her full breasts, the fabric shifting whenever she breathed. Her waist was slim, her hips rounded, and the short pajama shorts left most of her clean, smooth thighs bare.
Even with no heavy makeup and no performance in her posture, she still looked like a woman in her prime thirties: polished, desirable, and coldly aware of it.
She watched him enter without bothering to sit up straighter.
Marrying Durnik had been about money. That was the truth, and she no longer pretended otherwise in her own mind. At the time, his wealth had looked like an escape and an upgrade. Now it felt like the worst trade she had ever made.
The first time she saw his dick properly had killed whatever little physical tolerance she still had left. Small. Embarrassing. Impossible to take seriously. After that, sex stopped. She still enjoyed the lifestyle, the clothes, the accounts, the protected comfort of a rich household, but she would never again pretend she enjoyed his body.
Leaving was not an option either.
His family had made that clear long before the wedding. His grandfather, his brothers, the whole rotten structure around him had opposed the marriage from the start.
They saw her as a woman trying to harvest money she had not earned. The only reason she made it into the family at all was because Durnik had been obsessed enough to force it through. If she ever pushed for divorce now, she knew it would not end with paperwork. It would end with her disappearing.
So she stayed.
She spent his money.
She avoided his bed.
And she waited.
It helped that he made the waiting easier. Ever since she cut him off, the old bastard had been filling his nights with younger women, secretaries, paid girls, anyone soft and available enough to stroke his ego.
Rebecca had long stopped reacting to it. In a strange way, it suited her. The less he came looking for her, the better. All she needed was patience. One day the idiot would die, and everything attached to his name would be hers to claim.
Tonight, he walked in smiling like a man who had won something.
Rebecca’s eyes moved over him with quiet contempt. She already knew something had happened. She had seen the leaked videos, the online mockery, the pathetic little performance of his body spread across the internet. She just had no interest in discussing it.
Durnik climbed onto the far side of the bed still looking pleased with himself, satisfied in that greasy, private way that made her stomach turn.
The distance between them was obvious. Most nights they did not sleep in the same room at all. Most nights he was somewhere else entirely, buried between another girl’s legs and pretending size did not matter if the girl was paid well enough to moan.
Rebecca sneered softly and turned her face away.
Whatever had made him smile tonight, she doubted it made him any less disgusting.
Lucas woke up feeling clearer than he had in days.
The night had been intense, messy, and worth every minute of it. His body carried that pleasant heaviness that came after being used properly, but his head was sharp again. Beside him, Mia, Daisy, and Debbie were still asleep, tangled across the bed in loose sheets and bare skin.
One of them had an arm near his waist. Another’s hair was spread over the pillow. None of them looked close to waking.
He eased out of the bed carefully.
After a night like that, the least he could do was let them rest.
Downstairs, the house was quiet. Lucas picked up his phone from where it had been left the day before and unlocked the screen. Missed calls. Several of them. All from Gracie. A few unanswered messages sat under them as well.
He stared at the list for a second, then called her back.
---
On the other end, Gracie had only just started dragging herself out of sleep when the phone rang.
The night before still sat heavy on her. The performance for Durnik. The fake sweetness. The way she had touched herself on camera for a man she found disgusting. Even after bathing and forcing herself to sleep, she woke up with that sour feeling still stuck under her skin.
She answered on the second ring, voice rough and weak.
"Why didn’t you reply to my texts or pick up my calls last night?"
Lucas opened his mouth, then closed it again.
There was no clean way to tell her he had spent the night buried between three women in a hardcore mess that lasted until his body gave out. So he went with the simpler version.
"I slept off."
Silence.
Gracie’s fingers tightened around the phone. Slept off. That was it?
She was used to men waiting on her, refreshing their screens for a reply, getting restless when she left them on read. This was the first time someone had brushed her off so casually, and it left her caught between anger and an unfamiliar sense of being unimportant.
What made it worse was the other weight in her chest.
Today she might actually have to walk into Durnik’s company. See that old bastard in person. Smile. Play soft. Stay useful. The thought alone drained more strength from her voice.
"I successfully convinced Durnik," she said at last. "I’ll start working at his company. I may go today."
On Lucas’s side, satisfaction settled in quietly.
He had not expected Gracie to cooperate like this. The result was better than he planned, and for now that was good enough.
"When you reach the company," he said, "text me. I’ll give you the next part of the plan."
Gracie gave a short reply and ended the call before her temper could slip further.
Lucas lowered the phone, already turning the day over in his mind.
The board was moving again.
