Gracie put her phone down and sat there for a long moment.
The call with Lucas was over, but the weight of what she had agreed to was only now settling in properly.
She had pushed herself into Durnik’s reach on purpose. She had smiled for him, touched herself for him, called him papi, and asked to work under him. At the time it had felt like control. Now, in the quiet of the hotel room, it felt like a trap she had walked into with her own feet.
Had she known it would feel like this, she might never have taken the original deal from him at all.
She leaned back against the headboard and stared at the ceiling, already trying to map out how to handle the old bastard once she stood in front of him in person.
Eventually she got up and started preparing to head to TikTok Live’s headquarters.
---
Across the city, Durnik had already been awake for hours.
He got up around 3 a.m., too restless to stay in bed. The memory of Gracie on his screen was still fresh, and it left him unusually energetic. He washed, dressed, and left the house while the streets were still empty, arriving at the office long before anyone else.
At the gate, the night security was slow to react.
Durnik slammed his palm against the horn and did not let up.
"Are you blind or just fucking useless?" he shouted through the window. "What do I pay you people for? To sleep standing up? Open the damn gate before I have you thrown out with the trash!"
The security guard rushed forward at once, face tight with fear. He clearly wanted to explain himself, but one look at Durnik’s expression killed the words in his throat. He only bowed his head and kept apologizing while unlocking the way in, swallowing every insult without protest.
Durnik drove through still irritated, though the anger did not last long.
Once inside the building, his good mood returned. The halls were quiet. The offices were empty. He liked it that way. He went up to his floor, settled into his chair, and waited. From the outside, it almost looked like patience. In truth, his mind kept drifting back to Gracie. He kept imagining what he would do to that thick ass once he finally got her close, and no matter how long the hours stretched, the thought refused to leave him.
By 8 a.m., the building had filled with staff.
That was when the thought finally hardened into a decision.
Lena.
She had been convenient for a long time. Useful. Soft. Easy to order around. But she was not Gracie. She was not the woman he now wanted in his office every day, close enough to look at, close enough to claim. If Gracie was going to work under him, then Lena had to be moved out of the way.
Durnik turned to his computer, drafted the notice without hesitation, and sent it.
---
On the lower floor, Lena had just arrived and settled at her desk like any other morning.
She powered on her computer, still half-expecting the usual pattern: a call, a summons to his office, some crude order mixed with the work she actually needed to do. On normal days, Durnik rarely bothered with formal emails. If he wanted something, he made her come to him.
Then the new message appeared.
From Durnik.
She frowned and opened it.
The words hit her all at once.
She had been removed from her current role. Effective immediately.
For a second she just stared at the screen. Then she read it again. And again. Her mind refused to accept it cleanly. This had to be a mistake. A bad joke. Some file sent to the wrong person.
Her chair scraped hard against the floor as she stood up too fast. Blood rushed to her head. The office noise around her suddenly felt distant and unreal.
She read the email one more time, jaw tightening, then turned on her heel and stalked toward Durnik’s office, each step sharper than the last.
Inside his office, Durnik was bent over his computer with unusual seriousness.
He was not reviewing reports. He was not answering company messages. He was online, searching for the best office chair money could buy. One soft enough, wide enough, and expensive enough for Gracie’s ass. Every time he imagined her sitting down, that heavy Latina curve settling into a chair, he rejected another option.
Too hard.
Too plain.
Not good enough.
He scrolled past chairs costing more than two hundred thousand without blinking. At that price, one seat could have paid for half the furniture in the building, but he did not care. If Gracie was going to work here, she was not going to sit on anything ordinary.
Then the office door burst open hard enough to rattle the frame.
Lena stormed in like she wanted to tear the hinges off.
Durnik’s face tightened at once. He already knew this headache was coming.
She crossed the room fast, eyes sharp, voice already rising.
"That email you sent me," she said. "It was a mistake, right? Tell me it was meant for someone else."
Durnik barely opened his mouth before she kept going.
"After everything I’ve done for you? I gave you my body. I let you treat me however you wanted. I cleaned up after you, stayed late for you, bent over for you, and this is what I get?"
Her anger spilled out faster than she could control it. She shoved papers off the edge of his desk, sending them scattering across the floor. One swing of her arm knocked into his computer monitor hard enough to make the screen shake.
"You used me like your bitch," she shouted, "and now you want to throw me away?"
Durnik stared at her, caught between irritation and a thin, inconvenient stretch of guilt. For all her noise, she had been useful. Loyal in the way desperate people were loyal. Firing her completely, right there in the open, suddenly felt messier than he wanted.
He raised a hand.
"I’m not firing you," he said. "I changed my mind."
Lena’s breathing hitched. Some of the wildness in her face loosened at once.
"Better," she snapped. "And don’t ever try a prank like that again in your life."
She turned to leave, already finished with the sight of him.
Then Durnik spoke again.
"But you’ll join the receptionist desk. We need someone there."
Lena stopped.
For a second she did not move at all. She turned back slowly, staring at him like she needed to confirm she had heard correctly.
"Receptionist?"
Durnik met her eyes without apology. "That’s the best I can do. Unless you want to look for another job."
The words landed heavier than the email.
Lena’s face flushed hard. All the nights, all the obedience, all the times she had let him use her body while telling herself it would lead to better pay and a stronger position, and this was the result. Not promotion. Not even the same seat. A demotion dressed up as mercy.
"You bastard," she shouted. "Receptionist? After everything? You demoted me to receptionist?"
Her voice cracked with fury as it filled the office.
---
Meanwhile, downstairs, Gracie had already arrived.
She stepped into the building in a fitted suit that should have looked formal, but on her body it only made things worse.
The cut hugged her waist and left the heavy shape of her ass impossible to ignore. Security at the entrance watched her too long. Men near the lobby forgot what they were doing the moment she walked past. Even in office clothes, every step made her figure draw eyes like a magnet.
Everyone recognized her.
Especially after the livestream.
And still, she walked in like she belonged there.
