*Anos's POV*
"Well you've just walked your way into a month of free chocolate milk, so buckle up." I said in fond exasperation while Hermione huffed.
"But all of you already knew about this?" She said with exasperation nudging towards the tomes and books we had collected regarding Nicholas Flamel.
"But you managed to find out about him all on your own. And it took the rest of us to do a combined effort and some of us didn't enjoy our holidays and rest." Alucard said in praise before returning to his notebook.
I leaned forward from the chair to pick up the newspaper regarding Nicholas Flamel's birthday.
'Its a shame he didn't study from Hogwarts or we would've gotten the entire Forbidden Forest turned into a pleasant maze and park 2 centuries ago.' I said lamenting.a
"Well now we know what's the deal with the Philosopher's stone. What are we exactly planning to do about it?" Simon asked, looking up from his homework.
"You're going to finish your homework and let the ones that don't play with ropes do the thinking." Alucard chided Simon who just sighed and went back to his work.
'That's what he gets for asking Alucard to help him finish his homework after wasting most of the holidays. ' I had to hold back a grin as Simon cursed under his breath and Alucard pretended not to hear.
"For now? I don't think there's anything we can do." I said, shrugging.
" We do not know who wants the stone, well we've guesses but we can't stay around to guard it all day. The best thing to do is do nothing and wait for the other party to make an appearance." I continued after pausing to scratch my neck.
'Why is it so itchy? Probably should ask Madam Pomfrey to check it.'
" Well we can't just wait and sit around!" Harriet said surprised.
" Actually we can." Alucard answered.
" And it is probably for the best that we do so." I spoke in conjunction.
" But if we know about all of it, shouldn't we at least tell any teacher about it? It might actually help them, even if we can't do anything with it.'' Hermione suggested.
" Yes. I agree it can help. But it's also likely that we'll be playing into the hands of whoever is thinking about grabbing the stone in the first place. For all we know our little excursions might have already alerted them." I said immediately.
" You fear that someone from the school is in on it?" Alucard asked with a raised eyebrow and was he trying to hide a grin?
"Yes. More than likely I would say since this year is proving to be a bit more threatening in Hogwarts so to speak. I mean we get accidents once in a while, yes but this year has been going a bit over the top. For example the Troll at Halloween." I said in a grave tone though I wanted to grin.
"Ah yes they never did find anything about how a troll just appeared in the Dungeons of all places." Alucard followed, while his nails lightly scraped his ring.
"I really did want to fight that troll." Simon said sadly.
"Perhaps we should have arranged it. Maybe that brute creature would've met it's match in you and if the world was feeling particularly kind you would've been whacked enough to rid us of your whining for a few days Belmont." Alucard said before a chair pushed itself next to his.
Simon looked a confusing mix between angry and surprised.
"Well shall i pat the chair for you Belmont? Join us. God knows you're not going to complete your work with those bat ears." Alucard said and Simon tried his best to look affronted while he chirpily sat down on the chair.
"Well whoever it is we need to find them." Draco said though it sounded more like an order.
" 'We' are children who can't even use our spells correctly." Hermione chided.
"Well as I'm aware we have quite a few eccentric quirks don't we?" I said smiling.
"You mean the fact that we have a Progenitor, vampire, Sect follower and a Belmont between us?" Simon said with a grin.
"I think the last one is more of a deterrent on our capabilities really." Alucard quipped.
"Yes, well not the deterrent part but the other one. Can't we do something or anything to find who's behind this? We know what they want, how many people are there that have the capabilities of sneaking into Gringotts and also desiring the Philosopher's stone?" Draco asked.
'Wow, Harriet has gotten him fully into this hasn't she? Or maybe it's his taste at freedom, away from his parents?' I mused as Alucard answered.
"On this Continent? Not many i would say. Perhaps around two score individuals? We can take the Progenitors out of them since those have a great enough life force on their own. We can also take out another 5 who would not be able to leave their wards." Alucard said while scratching his teeth with an elongated nail.
'I didn't know he could elongate his nails.' I made a mental note to look more into the strength of vampire nails later.
" Another dozen you can take out from those that'll be non-human and don't have the desire for the Philosopher's stone. Leaves a few individuals but those are the ones that we can't look into even if we want to.
Most are seclusive hermits. Kept safe away from the Muggles due to the Iris Parchment." Alucard ended.
"What is an Iris Parchment?" I asked with a raised eyebrow .
"The Statute of Wizarding Secrecy, you know the one where we have to keep away from the Muggles and so on? The Vampires always have their own terms for such things." Simon explained.
"Ah I see. That one almost got broken in the Wizarding War a decade or so ago huh. That would've been a doozy." I said while stretching my hands and trying to stifle a yawn.
"Yes, that one." Alucard said grimly.
'Is he really that embarrassed that Belmont explained something to him?'
"Well whoever wants an immortal life certainly doesn't wish to be a hermit living on a mountain i suppose." I said and Alucard gave a brief nod.
"Between the thousands of years that magic has existed it has seen enough change that a mortal mind would never be able to comprehend it all, Nicholas Flamel might be the only maker of the Philosopher's stone but magic doesn't stay uncovered for long if it could be done once then it can be done again." Alucard said, crossing his legs.
"Well who could it be, I wonder." I said and before I could continue we already had an answer.
"Voldemort." Harriet said, holding her scar.
