"Ready?"

"Yeah."

*Wrapped.*

Instantly after saying that, Lira wrapped her arm tightly around Kyle’s and leaned slightly against him. Her sudden movement startled him, but he didn’t do anything to stop her. Instead, he simply accepted her advance. He was too much of a coward to initiate something like this himself, especially with his complete lack of experience with women.

"Tell me, Kyle. Is this your first time going on a date?" she asked as they moved along the path through the city center, taking in the familiar charm of their city from a different perspective. They had spent most of their lives here, yet somehow the streets seemed different today.

"Wh-what? How did you know?"

Kyle stammered when she suddenly asked him that. He felt as though he’d choked on a fish bone.

"Oh, so it’s really your first time going on a date?"

Lira ignored his question and gave him a relieved smile.

"You didn’t answer my question," Kyle pointed out.

"I didn’t. I just wanted to know if you had any experience, but I’m glad you don’t."

She smiled at him, her eyes carrying that familiar mischievous glint.

"It’s going to be your first time with me."

The way she phrased it, along with the suggestive tone she used, earned them a few curious looks from passing pedestrians.

"Wh-what are you saying? Everybody’s gonna get the wrong idea..."

Kyle tried to correct her, visibly embarrassed as he noticed several people looking at them.

"Hmph! Why bother caring about others? When you’re on a date, you should only care about the woman you’re on a date with."

*Squeeze*

Lira pulled him even closer, pressing herself against his arm.

Kyle stiffened.

’Is this how she normally acts?’

Her behavior was usually clingy and teasing, but today she seemed even more affectionate—and every other sentence seemed to have some kind of double meaning behind it.

Kyle, who already had trouble dealing with women, felt something unusual stirring inside him. He couldn’t quite put his finger on what it was, though.

"By the way, what about you? Is this your first date too?" he asked, turning her question back on her.

"Me?"

Lira gave a small laugh.

"Unfortunately, it’s not my first time. I’ve had my fair share of dates in the past, but none of them worked out after the first. Maybe this one will be different since I’m with you."

She answered as honestly as she could.

Because of her looks and beauty, Lira had gone on plenty of dates in the past. Ever since her school days, she’d been proposed to and invited out by all kinds of men—not just ordinary guys, but some of the most handsome ones she’d ever seen.

Yet nothing had ever gone beyond the talking stage, and at most, the first date.

She had simply never felt attracted to them.

There had been no spark, no excitement.

Nothing that made her want to see them again.

Kyle had been different from the very beginning.

At first, it had only been because he was her colleague. Then, little by little, she had found herself becoming attracted to him. She couldn’t even pinpoint exactly when it had happened.

After that incident, however, she had finally stopped denying it.

She liked Kyle.

Romantically.

There was no shadow of a doubt about it anymore.

’He’s all I need in a man...’

She looked at him from the corner of her eye.

Kyle might not have been the most blessed when it came to looks, but Goddamn, somehow he’d ended up with a baddie.

Lira’s beauty and figure were enough to turn heads wherever she went. Even men walking beside their girlfriends couldn’t help glancing at her, and Kyle couldn’t help noticing the envious looks being thrown his way.

Standing beside her, he probably looked like a potato next to some glamorous celebrity.

Her beauty was honestly ridiculous.

Even the clothes she’d chosen today only accentuated it further.

’Get jealous, you fuckers.’

Kyle could almost imagine himself saying it to the men staring at them.

’But you fuckers will never know what it’s like to have your arm sandwiched between her arm and her sideboob.’

He wanted to say it because that would make them even more jealous, but thankfully, he kept his mouth shut.

Instead, he looked at Lira.

"Fair share of dates? You’re experienced in this game."

His tone had become rather crude and flat, and the blush on his face had disappeared.

Even though some part of him had wanted her to say that she was just like him—that this was her first time too—he knew better.

In the adult world, being single and completely inexperienced probably wasn’t normal.

At least, not like Kyle.

’What happened to him? Did I say something wrong?’

Lira, who had been enjoying the atmosphere until then, noticed the sudden change in him almost immediately.

"You-you’re wrong!"

She began speaking quickly.

"I had my fair share of dates, but that doesn’t mean I did anything!"

Kyle looked at her.

"I never did anything with anyone. I’m just as inexperienced as you, and I don’t even hold them like this! It’s all for y—"

Before she could spiral any further, Kyle stepped in front of her and raised a finger to her lips.

"I know."

Lira froze.

Kyle had the biggest smile on his face, barely managing to suppress his laughter.

"So, tell me, how does it feel to be teased by someone else?"

"Yo-you!"

Her face turned redder than a tomato.

*Bite*

She lightly bit the finger that was shushing her.

"Ouch! What are you doing?" Kyle exclaimed, acting as though she’d nearly taken his finger off.

"You deserve this," she said, looking away while trying to hide her embarrassment.

Kyle laughed.

After walking for a while longer, they eventually reached a small café in the city center.

"Coffee?" Lira suggested.

"Sure."

They entered the café together and found a table near the window. The place was cozy, with warm lighting, wooden furniture, and the pleasant aroma of freshly brewed coffee filling the air.

They ordered two coffees along with lunch.

While they waited, Kyle looked around the café.

"This place is nice."

"I come here sometimes," Lira said. "It’s quiet."

Their coffee arrived first.

Kyle took a sip and nodded appreciatively.

"Not bad."

"Not bad?" Lira repeated, offended. "That’s all you have to say?"

"What do you want me to say?"

"That it’s amazing."

"It’s coffee."

She rolled her eyes.

"You really don’t know how to appreciate things."

"I am appreciating you, though."
