Levi stepped through a crack that formed in the void.
His steps were calm and regal.
But his appearance was not.
He looked like someone who had just escaped a prison yard.
His hair was dishevelled.
"It seems following Celeste for so long has made me lose my touch," he said, his eyes staring directly into the soul of the void venerate.
The venerate could not so much as twitch.
The pressure Levi exuded paralyzed not only it, but the swarm under its command.
All of them were frozen in place from just his aura.
"Look how much time I spent to kill a single Void Lord."
Thousands of cracks began to open in the void as he spoke.
Within them, elements stirred violently.
They were ready to tear through the void itself once they were let loose.
Levi did not linger.
The cracks released all their pent-up energy, breaking through the void like fragile glass.
The swarm was reduced to nothingness within a breath.
The void venerate began to regenerate from the wound.
But this time, unlike before, it did not attempt to attack the barrier again.
It turned away from the barrier and Levi, running through the void.
Levi gazed at the void venerate.
"Where do you think you are going?" he yelled, lunging towards the venerate.
Tens of light years were crossed in a breath.
Levi and the venerate had disappeared from sight entirely.
That was when the students were finally able to breathe.
"He came at the right time," Silas said, a heavy gasp releasing from his lips.
"But why was he like that?"
Asher did not reply to any of Silas's questions.
After all, they were also things he would like to ask Levi himself.
Just at that moment, Sylvester regained consciousness.
He stood up from the floor, rubbing the back of his neck slowly.
"What happened?" Sylvester groaned as he looked at Silas.
Then his head drifted slowly towards Asher.
"You passed out from shock," Silas replied.
He did not turn back, only focusing on the empty void where Levi used to be.
Something seemed to bulge in that space, then it tore.
It was a long, vertical line that looked more like a passage than a crack.
Levi sauntered out of the passage.
His eyes, gentle and calm, fell on the students.
Before he could address them, he saw the large duplicate of the weapon floating above the original.
He said nothing.
But his gaze pierced through the entire weapon until it landed on one person.
He knew without doubt that Silas was the one behind the cloned weapon above the original.
"Thank you all for holding the enemy back. Now that I have dealt with the main threat, it is time we refill the batteries."
As he spoke, he phased through the barrier without any restrictions.
Levi reached the first weapon, putting the replacement batteries in before moving to another one.
He paused as he approached Silas's port, then he skipped it entirely.
Levi flickered through the space, then refilled everything within the span of 10 minutes.
He stopped and looked around for a moment.
Then he reappeared in front of Silas.
Silas was stunned by the sudden appearance.
Levi extended his hand.
"Thank you," he said, shaking Silas's hand.
Silas nodded, almost embarrassed.
"Here, the reward I promised you," Levi said, pulling a ring from his finger.
"This spatial ring is the size of a multiverse, and your other rewards are in it."
Silas stared at the ring with shock.
A spatial ring that size — even he could not imagine the price for one.
"Let me have the ring I gave you for the weapon earlier," Levi said, stretching his palm towards Silas.
Silas pulled the ring out quickly and dropped it on Levi's palm.
Levi nodded once again before vanishing, appearing in front of Silas's port and slotting the batteries there.
Time passed in a blur. No one knew how much time had passed.
The only thing they could see was the darkness of the void beasts that passed.
The void beasts that targeted them reduced in frequency.
"Is it finally ending?" One of the students asked his partner as the darkness in the void began to recede.
Although they were not the ones controlling the weapon anymore, the fear of the void venerate still clung to their hearts.
The students had done nothing but pray for the tide to end quickly so they would not have to experience something like that again.
Right at that moment, Levi looked back at the students.
A smile spread on his lips, subtle and unseen by the students.
But it was there nonetheless.
"The tide has ended," he said.
The students' eyes widened with joy at those words.
It felt like a ray of light in the deepest of tunnels.
But their faces dropped once again as they thought of their spaceship.
It had been wrecked earlier from the tremor the void venerate released during its attack.
Levi, even from how far he was, noticed the sadness on their faces.
"I have a void land that can carry us till the academy's reinforcement arrives."
He did not wait for them to talk; he acted.
The ring on his finger flared with a white light as something began to push through the void of space.
Soon, a flat platform that stretched for over a light year formed in the void of space.
It looked entirely like a normal planet filled with greenery and plants that made it appear calming.
"What is that?" Silas asked with furrowed brows.
Asher was about to reply when Sylvester, who was just waking, spoke.
"It is a void land."
As he spoke, he rubbed his eyes with his palms to wash away any lingering tiredness he was feeling.
"It is a vast landmass that can float in the void, while also shielding those in it from the vacuum of space."
"Something like this existed?" Silas muttered beneath his breath.
"It is mostly used for sightseeing or picnics. The only downside is its inability to move."
'I should research this later, maybe I can try to create a mobile one,' Silas thought.
Their compartment clicked softly as Sylvester opened it.
"Wait, you fool, you can't breathe in space," Silas yelled, pulling Sylvester back and locking the compartment.
Sylvester blinked, scratching his head nervously.
"How long does it take you to recover from fainting?" Silas asked, although rhetorically.
Levi began moving from compartment to compartment, carrying the students within his bubble of space.
He left them on the land before continuing.
While this was ongoing, Silas rubbed his palm on the glass of the compartment he was in.
"Fission," he said calmly.
Instantly, Marcel's soul was pulled out.
The weapon's copy above the original began to fade away, the star particles fusing with the void before they dissolved fully.
Levi noticed this, and the other students saw it too.
But no one spoke about it.
They all ignored it as if they had never seen it.
Asher stared at the soul.
He was not as surprised as when he saw Silas fusing it with the ship.
Sylvester, on the other hand, waved it off.
"I should wake fully in about 10 minutes."
To him, what he was seeing was a result of his hallucination from still being half asleep.
Levi reached their compartment last and picked up Sylvester before shooting off.
Asher looked at Silas, who also had a tired expression on his face.
The distance between the void land and their position was at least a thousand kilometers.
"Asher, how long do you think it would take a Monarch stage cultivator to reach that place?" Silas asked.
"About 10 seconds," Asher replied as soon as the words fell from Silas's mouth.
Silas smiled, then turned towards the land.
"Let's see how fast it would be for me."
As he said those words, he lunged.
Asher stared at Silas's frame as he streaked through the void.
A blue, ethereal glow covered Silas as he crossed the distance.
Silas looked like an arrow that had been loosed from a divine bow.
"This speed," Asher stuttered.
Three seconds had passed; almost half of the distance had been covered.
"This is approaching Paragon territory."
Asher had not moved.
He waited in the compartment just to see how fast Silas was going to reach the place.
"At this pace."
The words forced themselves out of his lips.
He did not need to complete them; he got his answer in the next second.
Silas landed on the land.
A tremor swept through the land. The force made it tilt to the side slightly before balancing itself again.
Before the students could panic, Levi intervened.
"You had to make such a grand entrance."
Silas smiled.
"Figured just landing would be bland," Silas replied as he turned to the speaker.
It was just Billie and Amelia.
Silas sighed.
"Seems like we have to find the others in this big place."
Billie frowned.
"It seems like you really enjoy stress, why not just enjoy the serenity of staying alone till we get to the academy?"
