Silas dabbed his mouth with the napkin.
After drinking a full cup of water, he looked at Howard.
"Thank you, I would head to my room now," he said.
"Good night," Howard said, already packing up the plates.
"Asher, you could injure yourself with how much you play games," Silas said as he entered the elevator.
"Good night," Asher replied.
Silas could only sigh at this.
"Well, I was the one who asked him to enjoy himself for a week," Silas muttered as the elevator began to ascend.
It chimed open soon and Silas stepped out.
Looking at the hallway, Silas couldn't help but smile.
It was because of the world beyond the glass window.
The stars made Silas feel weirdly at ease.
"Why does it seem different looking at the stars from Earth?" he wondered aloud.
He had stayed in the void for over a year and had seen lots of stars.
Although they were beautiful, he had grown tired of them quickly.
But now, looking at them again, the beauty made his heart skip a beat.
He went into his room after a few minutes.
"Let's see, I have light and wind," Silas said before he even shut the door to his room.
"Wind is faster, maybe 3 months if I am truly fast," Silas said.
The door shut behind him as he pulled it closed.
"I forgot my blazer downstairs," he muttered.
He pulled his shirt off, leaving his chest bare.
'Maybe I train first, then take my bath when I am done,' he thought, taking slow steps towards the bed.
He jumped into it, letting his body sink into the softness and warmth.
His body seemed to fail him as he tried to sit up and train.
Before long, Silas was asleep, his body unable to hold on any longer.
The morning sun filtered through the window, the rays piercing directly into Silas's silver eyes.
Slowly, he brought his hand over his face to block the sunlight.
Then his eyes fluttered open in shock.
"It is morning already," he groaned.
Checking the clock on the wall, it was indeed morning.
[7:24]
"How did I sleep off?" he wondered as he pushed himself up and rested against the headboard.
"I must have just been really tired," he muttered with a smile.
He thought of when he had gone unconscious using Analyze on the corpse.
"It must be the lingering effect from then."
He pushed himself away from the bed and his feet met the cold floor.
It was nothing to him though; Silas just ignored it completely.
"I should just use today for fun, then head to Auranova's later."
He picked a set of clothes from his wardrobe.
A white top and blue jeans.
He threw them onto the bed.
The sound of water hitting tiles filled the silence of the room as Silas entered the bathroom.
For a moment, that was the only sound that seemed to exist in the house.
Until the water was turned off again.
Silas stepped out, body soaked, with a towel wrapped around him.
After a quick dry-off, he put on his clothes.
"I wonder what they are doing now," he whispered, his voice barely above a breath as he stepped into the hallway.
The thought of knocking on their doors surfaced in his mind, but he dismissed it.
"Let's just check downstairs."
The elevator doors chimed open as Silas hit the control.
"Why are you here?" Silas asked with furrowed brows, looking at Howard in the elevator.
"I was just heading down," Howard replied with a bow.
Silas nodded.
"So, is Asher still sleeping?"
The elevator began to hum as they descended.
"I told him to sleep early when I was heading to my room yesterday, but he did not reply."
As he neared the end of his sentence, he began to slow down as another possibility came to mind.
It was not just him — Silas also thought of the same thing.
They looked into each other's eyes.
"Do you think Asher played games overnight?" Silas asked.
Just then, the elevator dinged, and the doors slid open gently.
Their eyes turned towards the living room.
There, they saw Asher, sitting right in front of the game, hands moving in a blur across the controller like an expert who had been playing for years.
"Asher," Silas called.
"Okay, Asher, that's it, this is the last game you are allowed to play this month," Silas said as he walked out of the elevator.
His steps were deliberate and calm.
Asher paused the game and stood up.
"Good morning, Master Silas."
"Please, don't patronize me. Switch the game off now," Silas said.
"And yeah, you are to follow me to Auranova's, so get some sleep."
Asher was about to speak again.
"Now."
He bowed, then left the room.
Silas watched Asher leave, then sighed, before collapsing into a chair.
He switched the 100-inch television on with a soft click of the remote.
"What is this?" he asked with furrowed brows.
It was a bunch of moving, paper-like beings.
"Rion, any idea?" Silas asked.
"It is called anime," Rion replied almost immediately, as if it had been waiting for the question.
"It looks weird," Silas mused as he watched it.
"This is one of the most popular ones from old Earth. Its title is Attack on Titan," Rion added after a few minutes, as if it had been researching while Silas spoke.
"Yeah, yeah, keep quiet," Silas said, eyes glued to the television as though it might vanish if he looked away.
Meanwhile, Howard was busy thinking about what had transpired between Silas and Asher.
Although he knew neither of them was angry — after all, Silas had only done it so Asher would get some sleep, and Asher was definitely smart enough to know that — he still felt it could make their relationship more tense.
He reached his palm into the sink.
"Argh," he hissed, feeling the hot water burn his palm.
He did not think twice; he opened the tap, letting the fresh water cool him.
