Silas shook his head as he looked through the lab.
He glanced at his sandwich, which sat on the table just beside the door.
"To think I would collapse from the overload," he muttered.
But he did not feel any sadness.
After all, everything that Analyze had displayed was stored cleanly in his mind.
Even though he had not been able to read it in the heat of the moment, his mind had taken over to store all the information.
"Let's see the results, shall we?" he muttered.
Silas's mind began to display the results of the Analyze from earlier.
[Name: ??? Leviathan
BODY COMPOSITION:
Voidhide: Resists energy, physical, and conceptual damage.
Eldritch Nucleus: Source of the entity's power. Actively leaking Void Aether into surrounding space.
Null Ichor: Liquid that suppresses energy in anything it contacts.]
[Note: It is not a being from this universe, but if it were alive, it could destroy this universe alone.]
The note.
It made Silas's eyes twitch.
"Destroy this universe alone?" he muttered in disbelief.
There were at least a hundred Primordial Realm beings in the universe; how was one thing going to destroy all of them?
And that was not the only shock.
"There's a world beyond this universe," he said.
His eyes widened as he thought about it.
This was one of the most discussed topics among scientists.
Even though there was no proof of a world beyond their universe, they still felt the need to find that proof for themselves.
"What can I do?" he asked himself.
Silas had begun to pace back and forth within the lab.
"I could return the corpse to the Imperial Research Department," he said, stopping for a brief moment.
Then he shook his head slowly.
"They would probably ignore something brought by a little boy like me," he said. "Those guys are too proud."
His pacing continued.
"What am I even thinking about?" Silas suddenly said, stopping.
"I would create a bloodline potion and get myself a pet that can use it."
He had always fantasized about getting a pet.
But because he did not want to end up with a low-level pet, he had constantly held himself back.
But now, if he could create the potion, he could make even a low-grade pet stronger.
Then his eyes drifted towards the corpse.
"Let's think about the pet later," he said.
"Rion, move it to the dissecting table."
The tube began to roll backwards slowly.
Until it reached the biggest piece of equipment in the room.
A large table with hundreds of mechanical arms attached to it.
"Rion, I need every bit of that corpse. Not even a drop of its blood should go to waste."
The tube clicked open, and the corpse was guided onto the table slowly by the slide.
For a moment after the corpse landed on the table, there was only silence.
Then, the whirring sound of machines coming to life.
The arms began to move, their roller blades spinning at a speed that made it seem like they could cut through anything.
A loud metallic chime erupted from the table as sparks flew into the air.
Bang.
Metal twisted until it could not hold on any longer and exploded.
Silas stared at the broken blade, eyes wide with disbelief.
"This is just too ridiculous," Silas commented as he walked towards the table with hurried steps.
He was not too worried about the arms; he knew he could get them fixed with a bit of points.
What was shocking to him was the corpse.
"I did not expect this voidhide to still be in effect even after its death," Silas mused.
It was common knowledge that a beast or creature's body loses its effect upon death and instead preserves its essence until it is refined into something else.
"If I can't tear it apart, how do I even get the materials I need from it?"
Silas felt a headache coming on, one he had not felt in a long time.
"Maybe I should really take a break and come back later," he sighed.
"Rion, return the corpse to the tube," Silas said as he turned back.
The table began to roll back towards the tube's slide.
Silas, on the other hand, carried the tray he had brought and left the lab.
"What are you guys doing here?" Silas gasped as he saw the two people standing beside the door.
"We wanted to see if you were doing fine," Asher said.
"I was, not until you guys almost gave me a heart attack just now," Silas replied.
"Sorry to scare you," Howard quickly said, collecting the tray from Silas's hand.
"How about we continue that mission today?" Asher asked with a wink.
"I am too busy right now. I can't think about playing games at the moment," Silas replied.
"I even need to start condensing the elements."
He thought of the kind of people he had met in the hall earlier that day.
Literally all of them had condensed an element and advanced to the Paragon rank.
"I thought you were waiting for the perfect moment before you started," Asher asked with furrowed brows.
"Yeah, it is time," Silas said with a smile.
The elevator doors slid open and they entered.
"Just don't rush yourself because of those children. They are all monsters, true monsters," Howard said. "This year has the greatest talents in the record of the Empire."
"I am not so feeble-minded as to hasten myself just because I saw people who reached it before me," Silas replied with a smile.
They all smiled at this.
The elevator chimed as the doors opened.
The group did not hesitate, as if they had been secretly praying for the doors to open.
"Why are you in such a rush?" Silas asked with furrowed brows.
"Nothing," Asher replied.
Silas furrowed his brows, but did not think much about it.
Since they chose not to talk about it, he decided to leave it at that.
"Aren't you eating?" Howard asked.
"What is it?" Silas asked, walking towards the dining table.
"Spaghetti."
As he said those words, he set the plate on the table, with a fork.
