As wisps of phantoms were split off one after another, the Charm King’s face grew increasingly pale. After she had created a full 100 phantoms, her body looked as if it were about to collapse, making her seem like a truly frail and delicate woman.
"That should be enough. 100 phantoms. Even accounting for those killed by accident, I should be able to parasitize at least forty or fifty people. I hope there are a few good seedlings among them worth cultivating." A bewitching smile appeared on the Charm King’s stunningly beautiful face.
The Magma Demon King, already tens of thousands of meters away, turned his head and glanced at the Charm King, a hint of violence and greed in his eyes.
If this hadn’t been one of the Charm King’s avatars, he would have struck without hesitation in her weakened state, killing her and absorbing the Heaven and Earth Rules she controlled, even if it meant severe punishment from the Lord Divine King.
His power had not increased by even an inch in over a thousand years. As long as he remained in this world, there was no possibility of further advancement.
This was because at their Realm, one needed to master more Heaven and Earth Rules to advance, but the Rules of this plane had long been carved up and claimed by powerful beings like themselves.
Therefore, to improve, the only options were to kill each other and seize the Heaven and Earth Rules within their bodies, or to invade other planes and plunder their Rules.
Soon, the Magma Demon King’s gaze shifted from the Charm King’s avatar to the ever-expanding Abyssal Passage.
He could feel that the Heaven and Earth Rules of the Earth Plane were growing weaker and weaker under their gradual encroachment. He only had to endure for a few more years before they could truly enter that plane, which would be another gluttonous feast.
Withdrawing his gaze, he continued walking into the distance.
And in that direction were over ten thousand of his clansmen, the Magma Demons.
"My subjects, go! I have suppressed your power to a level that will not trigger a backlash from the Heaven and Earth Rules. You need only hold your ground on the other side of the passage for two hours before you can return." The Magma Demon King’s magnificent voice echoed throughout this world.
"Yes, sir!" A uniform response thundered across the land.
Over ten thousand Magma Demons, each at least 10 meters tall, marched toward the Abyssal Passage.
Wherever they passed, whether it was low-Level Abyssal Creatures like Abyssal Corpse Ghosts and Petrifying Spiders, or the various Mutated Zombies in the middle of the food chain, all respectfully cleared a path, their eyes filled with fear as they watched the Magma Demons.
...
Lin Xinghai, of course, had no way of knowing what was happening thousands of kilometers away. At this moment, he was methodically instructing everyone on their Gun Technique while simultaneously slaughtering Zombies.
As time went on, this ultra-large-scale zombie tide was rapidly diminishing at a rate visible to the naked eye.
Meanwhile, their haul of Elemental Crystals was increasing just as quickly. After three hours, they had already piled up into a small mountain.
To boost morale, Little Fatty had assigned two Combat Robots to move the Elemental Crystals to the top floor, piling them right in the middle of the rooftop where everyone could see their haul with just a turn of their head.
Under these circumstances, everyone was all smiles, and Lin Xinghai was no exception. After all, continuing to desperately chug elixirs to improve his strength after reaching the Body Shaping Realm would cost an amount of money that was no laughing matter.
For instance, the Blood Burst Pills he was currently using only cost 5,000 Huaxia Coins each. But to use elixirs of an equivalent tier in the Body Shaping Realm, the price would be at least 50,000 Huaxia Coins.
The top-tier ones were even more expensive; 200,000 to 300,000 Huaxia Coins per pill was considered quite normal.
Now that was what you would call truly burning money.
Thinking of this, Lin Xinghai glanced at the dwindling zombie tide and said in a loud voice, "Everyone, let’s give it one last push! After we finish off this wave, we’ll lure another one back. Let’s try to earn enough Cultivation Resources for a whole month from this one mission!"
"Yes!" everyone responded in an excited chorus.
In truth, Lin Xinghai didn’t even need to rally them. A single glance back at the mountain of Elemental Crystals was enough to get them fired up as if they’d been injected with stimulants.
Just then, Little Fatty walked over holding a long-range communication device. "Boss, that officer Ji Qirong sent us another message."
"What’s he saying this time?" Lin Xinghai asked, his brow furrowing slightly.
"Hehe, it’s not exactly harassment this time. He’s asking if we need help. He says they can lure other Zombies over for us," Little Fatty said with a chuckle.
Hearing this, Lin Xinghai’s eyebrow twitched slightly. "Ask them what they’re expecting for compensation."
"You got it!" Little Fatty replied, quickly sending a message back with the communication device.
The other party must have been waiting, because a reply came back almost instantly. "Boss, they said there’s no need for any compensation. Our actions have greatly sped up the construction of their outpost, so they say they can’t thank us enough."
"In that case, please thank them for their help." Lin Xinghai nodded. He was happy to accept this kind of assistance; after all, it was mutually beneficial.
And just as promised, Ji Qirong’s side quickly dispatched several combat teams to lure Zombies.
Although the military’s combat teams didn’t seem very skilled at this sort of thing, it wasn’t too difficult a task. With Little Fatty providing remote guidance, they quickly got the hang of it.
Since Lin Xinghai’s group was making a huge commotion, the teams only needed to draw the zombie hordes to within two or three kilometers of the shopping mall before they could speed away.
After losing their target, the Zombies would naturally be drawn over by the smell of blood and the noise here.
Furthermore, the Military Department seemed even more invested in this than Lin Xinghai’s group. After luring nearly all the Zombies from Zones 10 through 20, they turned their attention to Zones 7 through 9.
After all, these zones had not yet been cleared. Although other teams from East Sea Academy had already entered them, their efficiency was nothing compared to the Xinghai Squad’s.
Ji Qirong offered to step in and have those teams hand over the Zombies.
But Lin Xinghai thought about it and rejected the proposal. He wasn’t the domineering type.
Instead, he contacted those teams himself and told them they could lure the Zombies over on their own. He was willing to pay them for it: for every Zombie they lured, they would receive 1 Huaxia Coin or 0.1 Credit Points.
The other teams on cleanup missions were relatively weak. When they heard Lin Xinghai’s offer, they were overjoyed, to say the least.
If they just lured a few hundred thousand Zombies over, they could earn a few hundred thousand Huaxia Coins, which was definitely much faster than hunting them themselves.
And so it went: the Xinghai Squad, led by Lin Xinghai, was responsible for hunting the Zombies, while the other squads, plus the military’s teams, lured over all the Zombies from the remaining zones.
The final number of Zombies lured over was indeed enormous, totaling nearly 700,000.
This meant that the total number of Zombies Lin Xinghai’s group would kill this time would reach a staggering 2 million.
This made everyone even more excited. After nearly five more hours, the Xinghai Squad finally killed all 2 million Zombies.
