Outside the silver-colored reaver tent, the guards were standing at attention.

Two Outsiders envoys, dressed in red round-collared robes, were waiting for Fern’s summons.

When a strange-looking figure emerged from the camp, he was immediately informed that he was called in.

"Envoy Dax Paxton from the Outside Kingdom presents his respects to Lord Fern."

As soon as Dax saw Fern, he knelt down and performed the full kowtow ceremony, a sign of deep respect.

Since the reavers had grown in power and pushed the Eldorian Empire’s influence back to the Snake Pass, the King of Outside had taken the opportunity to send a diplomatic letter, offering to become a vassal state to The Order, pledging loyalty and agreeing to tribute, and listening to The Order’s commands.

"Rise!" Fern said with a smile.

He enjoyed the feeling of being bowed to. If the envoy had come from the Eldorian Empire, however, it would have been even better.

Dax stood up, carefully smiling. He had come to The Order to pay tribute. Naturally, he also had to make sure to please the various Lords, as they didn’t want to see The Order’s cavalry marching into Outside’s land.

After all, they were now reduced to just the remaining half of the peninsula.

"Thank you, Lord Fern," Dax said, signaling to one of his attendants, who immediately brought out a wooden box.

Dax opened the box to reveal a night pearl the size of a fist, shining in the golden-lined box.

Fern glanced at the night pearl, and with indifference, he said. "The people of The Order are not interested in such jewels. These are things that only the backward Southerners like. We prefer fine horses, bows, arrows, cattle, sheep, and beautiful women."

Dax laughed and quickly replied. "Lord Fern, we naturally understand your preferences. This time, I’ve brought with me ten beautiful maidens from the Outside Kingdom. The King of Outside specifically sent them as a gift for you, Lord Fern."

Fern nodded in satisfaction. "Very good. You are far more considerate than the people of the Eldorian Empire."

"That’s right, that’s right. The Eldorian Empire is obstinate. How dare they defy The Order’s orders? It’s time they were taught a lesson. The King of Outside has been displeased with the Eldorian Empire for quite some time." Dax continued, speaking with more caution.

Fern’s eyes narrowed as he said. "If that’s the case, when we next attack the Eldorian Empire, the King of Outside should send troops to assist. After we capture the Eldorian Empire, we can divide the spoils."

"Hehe, I will relay your generous offer to the King of Outside. The Eldorian Empire has long ceased to be worthy of being our overlord. It’s time they return the tribute they’ve taken from us." Dax replied, playing along with Fern’s words. However, he had other intentions for his visit.

He continued. "Lord Fern, I’m sure you’re aware of the situation regarding the Eldorian Empire and the Latin envoys. They’ve already made contact with the King of Outside."

"I have heard about it." Fern hesitated for a moment before responding.

His relationship with The Father was always strained. In fact, he was always well aware of every move the Father made.

Dax continued. "A few days ago, the Latin envoys arrived in Aluu. They leaked their plans to attack the Eldorian Empire’s Ashenford. They want to pass through Outside and use the Outside coastal ports as a base for attacking Ashenford. Lord Fern, the Latins have always been scheming. I’m not sure if this information was truly leaked or if it’s just a ploy, but if they pass through Outside, it will certainly be harmful to the King of Outside. What should we do?"

Fern’s eyes shifted. "So, what did The Father say when he met with the Latin envoys?"

"During the meeting, the Father acknowledged that the Latin, led by Lord Scott Raynolds, had similar ambitions to invade the Eldorian Empire. He promised that The Order would attack from the north while the Latin would invade from the south. At that time, the Latin envoys suggested they pass through Outside and cross The Order’s territory to reach the Eldorian Empire. The Father rejected the proposal immediately, which led to the Latins’ current plans to attack Ashenford." Dax explained.

"Ah, I see," Fern muttered. He understood the situation now. The Father had seen through the Latins’ ambitions and didn’t want to open the gates of Outside to them.

What surprised Fern was that the Latin envoys were now bringing up the idea of using Outside’s territory again.

"Your meaning is for the Order to reject the Latin’s request again?" Fern asked.

Dax nodded. The King of Outside was clearly on edge. The Latin envoys were pushing their agenda relentlessly, so the King of Outside had sent him to The Order, hoping they could block the Latins’ request.

This way, they wouldn’t have to directly offend the Latin.

Fern laughed coldly in his heart. He had never had any respect for the Kingdom of Outside. To him, it was nothing more than a small country on the peninsula that blew whichever way the wind took it.

The Outside Kingdom had once relied on the Eldorian Empire, bullying The Order. Before the Outside submitted to The Order, they had even slaughtered several Outside cities.

Now that they had submitted to The Order, they showed their fangs to the Eldorian Empire while still being cautious of the Latin.

Fern hesitated for a moment and said. "I think the Latin envoys have a valid point. They are only asking to use your coastal city. The Eldorian Empire is now our common enemy. We should cooperate."

"Lord Fern..." Dax knelt again. "Lord Fern, we cannot trust the Latin so easily. They’ve never kept their word. They’ve always been deceitful. A hundred years ago, the Latins tried to invade us. If they stay in The Outside, what should we do?"

After a pause, Dax continued. "Lord Fern, theLatinsn have very large ambitions. Their goal is the entire Central Plains, which is why they refuse to become a vassal state of The Order."

Fern frowned. Dax made a valid point. If The Outsidwereas occupied, the Latin would extend their reach into The Order’s territory.

But thinking back to the humiliation in Dunmere, Fern found it wouldn’t be such a bad thing to make things more difficult fhe Prince Simon.

He said coldly. "You go back and tell the King of Outside not to worry. If the Latin refuse to leave, the Order’s cavalry will take action. For now, attacking the Eldorian Empire is our priority."

Dax’s face went pale as he heard this.

He felt a mixture of sadness and helplessness, but had no other choice. With a heavy heart, he sighed and said. "Yes, Lord Fern."

Fern waved him off.

Now that he controlled both West Ham and The Outside, his focus was on organizing forces to deal with Prince Simon in Brambleford. For now, he didn’t care about The Outside’s fate.

As far as he was concerned, anything that made things difficult for Simon was worth doing.

"Just a bunch of dogs. Let them tear each other apart. Don’t they understand this principle?" Fern sneered.
