Diane swiftly killed all the Wraith Larva on Agnes’s body, then she immediately took out her healing elixir and the medicine their group had bought to counter the paralyzing poison of the Ghost Crawlers from her Space Bag, without showing any hesitation.

She carefully removed the remaining webs wrapped around Agnes’s body before taking out a small syringe and drawing the Anti-Paralyzing Poison into it.

She handled it almost like a professional nurse.

Diane tapped the plastic syringe with her middle finger a few times, making sure the air inside was removed. She then changed the needle for a new one before injecting the antidote into Agnes’s body.

The effect of the antidote began almost immediately.

Agnes was just about to let out all the pain she had been holding back.

The sharp mouths of the Wraith Larva had pierced into her legs, and before Diane arrived, they had slowly began tearing pieces of flesh from them, one after another, in a slow and painful manner.

"A..."

Agnes’s mouth opened.

But before she could scream, Diane immediately placed the Healing Elixir into her mouth.

Agnes swallowed it.

The injuries across her legs, which had already been left in a terrible state, began to heal slowly. The wounds closed little by little as the medicine took effect, though the pain didn’t disappear immediately.

"Use your Cognis to speed up the healing now. I will go and release the rest before the Young Ghost Crawlers make their way here."

Diane said calmly while looking at Agnes with a serious expression.

Agnes nodded quickly.

Even though immense pain still ran through her body, she knew there was still more that needed to be done. Crying over her injuries would only make her look pathetic in front of her Junior, especially when that same Junior was the one who had just saved her.

As a Senior...

This was already disheartening.

And although Agnes wasn’t a noble.

Her family served under the Burnwick House, being amongst the non-noble Houses with a high status in the military force of the Burnwick’s.

Being rescued by her Junior under these circumstances made the situation even more humiliating for her.

Diane didn’t wait for her to reply.

She turned around and left to release the remaining members.

After a few minutes, the group was finally free.

"Thank you, Lady Diane Bergwyn."

Emily tried to approach Diane while crying hard, seemingly wanting to hug her.

Diane simply raised one hand and placed it against Emily’s forehead.

She stopped Emily from coming any closer.

"We are already in the nest of the Ghost Crawler."

Samuel rubbed his shoulder as a chill ran through him.

He looked around completely stunned by the sudden turn of events.

"Good work, Lady Diane Bergwyn."

Jeremy said calmly while wrapping a healing bandage around Agnes’s legs.

"But where is Ezra?"

Hugh asked.

He looked at Diane worried.

"That’s why we don’t have time to stay here."

Diane walked toward Jeremy and looked at him plainly.

"Don’t tell me you left him to draw all the attention of the Young Ghost Crawlers to save us?"

Hugh looked at Diane in stunned disbelief.

"I will explain everything on the way."

Diane adjusted her clothes while passing Cognis through her entire body.

A thin fog began flowing from her skin toward her clothes.

The blood of the Young Ghost Crawlers that covered her body and clothes slowly froze, turning into small pieces of ice that fell from her clothes and body.

"Right now, we need to get to his side, because I feel like I’m forgetting something that I shouldn’t be forgetting."

Diane said this in a serious but soft tone, although a faint trace of worry could now be seen on her face.

"What’s that?"

Jeremy asked, confused by Diane’s words.

Before Diane could answer...

BOOM!

A loud echo of something striking the wall spread throughout the entire cave.

Diane’s expression changed.

She finally understood what she had been forgetting all this time.

The loud echo that she and Ezra had heard earlier, the sound of the Elder Ghost Crawler approaching, had somehow vanished from their thoughts.

She had even forgotten that the Elder Ghost Crawler was already moving toward the position where she had left Ezra.

Which could only mean one thing...

Diane immediately flashed forward.

The remaining frozen blood of the Young Ghost Crawlers she had killed fell from her body like drops of rain as she accelerated through the tunnel.

"We should move too."

Jeremy said firmly as he helped Agnes stand.

The others nodded.

Even though they had only just been rescued...

They all understood that one of their members was alone and battling an army of Young Ghost Crawlers and now...

The Big one.

They all had to move now, and fast.

Because the real battle was about to begin for them.

Back to Ezra’s Location...

Small clouds of dust continued drifting from the wall where Ezra’s body had crashed.

"KRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAGH!"

The deafening roar of the Elder Ghost Crawler echoed throughout the cave, and the entire area seemed to shake from the force of its voice.

Small pieces of stone fell from above as Ezra removed the damaged hardened coat from in front of his body.

His dull black eyes immediately darted toward the large hole in the wall.

The hole had been created when Ezra had used his coat as a shield to block the Elder Ghost Crawler’s enormous front leg.

"Cough! Cough!"

Ezra coughed, and a small amount of blood escaped his mouth.

His eyes returned to the Elder Ghost Crawler.

"I almost forgot about you."

Ezra said plainly, as though the massive creature standing before him could actually understand his words.

BOOM!

"You’re not even going to give me time to recover, huh?"

Ezra said again, his eyes darting toward the huge leg of the Elder Ghost Crawler, which was only inches away from striking his shoulder.

The enormous limb slammed hard into the wall behind him.

Making the stone crack beneath the impact, and small pieces of rock break loose from the wall and fall around Ezra.

"KRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAGH!"

The Elder Ghost Crawler roared again, its voice shaking the cave.

Dust drifted down from the ceiling as the sound rolled through the underground chamber.

Immediately, Ezra jumped down as another one of the Elder Ghost Crawler’s legs smashed into the position where he had been standing.

BOOM!

The impact struck the wall and floor at the same time, sending fragments of stone across the ground.

Ezra twisted his body while falling, turning his shoulder slightly so he could control his landing.

Once he reached the ground, he rolled across the stone floor to dampen the force of the fall before planting one hand against the ground and pushing himself back onto his feet.

He barely had time to steady himself.

A strong pressure suddenly descended from above.

Ezra’s eyes widened slightly.

He could feel the movement of air before the attack even reached him.

"Tsk."

Ezra gritted his teeth as Cognis immediately flowed into his legs, strengthening his muscles.

His feet scraped against the stone floor as he pushed himself sideways.

The enormous leg of the Elder Ghost Crawler came crashing down.

BOOM!

The limb struck the exact position where Ezra had been standing.

The stone floor cracked under its weight, and the leg dug a deep hole into the ground.

Stones were thrown outward from the impact, while dust spread across the area and briefly obscured Ezra’s lower body.

Ezra didn’t wait for the dust to settle.

The Elder Ghost Crawler’s body shifted.

Its mouth opened.

A large mass of venomous saliva gathered between its jaws before it was suddenly spat toward Ezra.

Whoosh!

The venom flew through the air in a thick stream.

Ezra immediately grabbed his hardened coat and slammed it against the stone floor, positioning it between himself and the incoming venom.

He also shifted his body away from the large hole that had already been created in the coat from the previous attack.

Splash!

The venomous saliva struck the hardened coat.

For a moment, the coat held.

Then the material began to break down.

Sssssss...

The venom spread across the surface.

Smoke rose from the coat as the stone beneath it also began melting.

The area around Ezra’s feet slowly dissolved, leaving small holes across the stone floor.

Ezra didn’t hesitate.

He reached into his Space Bag, took out an antidote, and swallowed it immediately.

The medicine passed down his throat as he kept his eyes on the Elder Ghost Crawler.

Then he felt it again.

That immense pressure.

It was coming from above.

Ezra’s eyes shifted upward.

The Elder Ghost Crawler’s leg was already descending.

He moved only a few inches.

The enormous limb slammed down beside him.

BOOM!

The impact sent another wave of dust across the floor.

Ezra stepped toward the creature instead of away from it.

His right hand reached out and pressed against the side of the Elder Ghost Crawler’s enormous leg.

For a moment, the difference in size between them was almost ridiculous.

Ezra’s entire hand covered only a small portion of the creature’s limb.

He didn’t care.

Cognis surged through his arm and into his muscles.

He pushed.

His boots scraped against the stone as he forced his body away from the point of impact.

At the same time, the Elder Ghost Crawler’s leg dug deeper into the ground, crushing the stone beneath its weight.

Crack!

More pieces of rock broke loose and scattered across the floor.

Ezra used the creature’s own movement to push himself farther away, creating just enough distance to avoid being fully caught beneath the enormous limb.
