Legendary Beast Cultivator

Chapter 114: Strength of Unity

The lethal, mutated fist of the beast descended downward like an executioner’s blade.

"Fuck!!" Lin Yuan groaned, his eyes widening in anger.

There was zero room to dodge the devastating attack. But, the crushing blow never struck his chest.

A large shadow eclipsed the sky, rushing across the area with an immense speed.

ROOOOOOAAAR!

A massive beast descended from the storm clouds. Its body was an awe-inspiring, old chimera like half colossal leviathan, and half winged sovereign, its massive wings spanning across the sky like a vast shadow. It was Kun Peng!

The leviathan’s enormous tail slashed sideways like an iron whip. The powerful strike landed before the monkey’s fist could crush Lin Yuan on the ground.

The mutated Rank 4 beast was vehemently blasted across the air, crashing through the trees like a cannonball.

Crash! Crash! Crash!

The trees are shattered into wooden splinters instantly. Lin Yuan stared upward, smearing the blood from his cheek.

A tall, elderly figure jumped down from the sky, landing lightly on the grassy ground beside him. His gray robes fluttered in the mountain breeze, his silver hair tied neatly behind his head.

Elder Mo Tianhe. A veteran frontline, senior elder of Red Talon Hall. He was a Core Beast Realm — Peak Stage cultivator. And his beast was the terrifying ancient Kun Peng.

"Brat, are you planning to take a nap on the battlefield?" Mo Tianhe muttered, looking sideways toward Lin Yuan.

"Cough! Cough! Sorry Elder!" Lin Yuan coughed, clearing the grit from his neck. "I will never fall again."

"Then get up your ass," the elder grinned, nodding his head. He faced the distant tree where the beast was already standing up slowly. "I’ll hold the line."

The Kun Peng beast flapped its massive wings.

A pressurised wind tempest slashed through the leaves from the canopy as the mutated ape roared and lunged back with disdain and fury.

The two terrifying beasts collided angrily. The ground groaned under the impact of collision.

Lin Yuan guarded himself against a jagged rock, slowly forcing his body straight up. His ribs groaned in pain as if smashed by a hammer. Every breath felt an immense agony.

Without hesitation, his fingers smeared against his ring. Then, the two jade pills fell into his palm from his spatial storage. One was a standard bone mending healing pill. And another was a high-grade beast essence recovery pill.

He tossed both into his mouth, swallowing them instantly. The medicinal warmth rushed through his body.

The pill essence rushed toward his fractured ribs, healing the small fractures and soothing his torn muscles. At the same time, the recovery pill melted into a flow of pure spiritual energy, pouring meticulously into his dry aperture.

Lin Yuan closed his eyes for a split second, analysing the beast essence in his aperture. His beast essence pool which was drained to 28% slowly increasing now.

29%... 31%... 34%...

Ahead, the area shook with monstrous violence. Mo Tianhe and his Kun Peng clashed with the mutated ape again and again. The leviathan’s armored wings slammed into the beast’s guard, while the four-armed monkey landed attacks with a frenzied hammer-like fist.

The heavy shockwaves blasted across the ground, kicking up the clouds of smoke and dust. Lin Yuan let out a slow breath. And after a few minutes, his beast essence became normal again.

37%... 40%.

"That’s enough to fight," Lin Yuan grinned, snapping his fingers. He opened his dark eyes, flexing his body with a cracking sound.

"You’re already back on your feet?" A calm, female voice came through the chaos beside him.

Lin Yuan turned his head.

Standing three paces away there was an elegant, thin girl, her pale hair waving gently against the heavy wind. Her expression was cool and calm, though her eyes filled with intensity and envy.

There was a shiny, silver white fox silhouette hovering right behind her back. She was Bai Ning. They had crossed paths in the courtyard and fought on the same front line over the past hour, but this was the first time they had stood face to face and talked to each other.

Bai Ning locked her gaze onto the raging mutated commander, then turned her eyes toward Lin Yuan.

"Let’s slaughter that beast, Lin Yuan," Bai Ning beamed, standing still.

Lin Yuan raised an eyebrow. "Are you sure about that?"

"Yeah," Bai Ning gave a calm, unhesitating nod. "Absolutely!"

There was no trace of the lingering envy toward Lin Yuan she had held earlier. In this scorched area, rank and ego were meaningless. There was only survival, and the enemy before them.

A dangerous, confident smirk appeared across Lin Yuan’s lips.

"Then let’s take its head," Lin Yuan murmured, turning toward the mutated beast.

Bai Ning moved without a single second of delay, concentrating her beast essence. Her Three-Tailed Frost Fox appeared beside her, howling angrily, its three wavering silver tails swirling through the air elegantly.

A cold chill instantly withered across the ground around their legs in white frost. Beside her, Lin Yuan commanded his beasts.

The angry Male White Tiger appeared in a burst of divine white light from his back, its golden eyes emanating the immense aura.

The mutated ape was in a brutal struggle with Mo Tianhe’s Kun Peng, and suddenly felt the powerful aura of the tiger and the fox.

Its crimson eyes locked onto the two disciples, and it abandoned the elder, rushing straight for them with reckless, murderous intent.

Bai Ning didn’t move an inch.

"Freeze!" Bai Ning commanded.

The Three-Tailed Frost Fox threw its head back, letting out a concentrated blizzard across the ground.

The jagged spikes of ice shot along the earth, climbing up the ape’s legs and covering its legs in thick ice. The beast’s immense speed instantly stopped.

Lin Yuan’s eyes widened.

"Strike!" He commanded his white tiger.

The White Tiger vanished from its spot, leaving the cracked ground behind. Its massive paw came crashing down onto the beast’s frozen shoulder.

Its bone cracked under the frozen ice, and the mutated ape staggered sideways, rumbling in agony.

Bai Ning followed up instantly, her timing precise. "Tear its blind spot!"

The Frost Fox obscured behind the rumbling monster.

Its three tails flared outward like silver lances, unleashing an immense burst of pure, concentrated frost energy into the beast’s spine.

The dense frost crept vehemently through the wound, locking the ape’s muscles in thick ice.

The mutated beast went berserk. It was filled with primal agony, it cracked its neck, shattering the ice around its body, and whipped its right arm in a lethal strike straight toward Bai Ning’s neck.

Lin Yuan’s movement was instantaneous. "Down!"

Bai Ning crouched low, her pale hair grazing the air as the massive fist grazed over her head. Before the ape could withdraw its arm, the White Tiger lunged, digging its fangs into the creature’s wrist muscles with a brutal force.

The ape shrieked, spasming desperately to throw off the white tiger. Bai Ning took advantage of the opening immediately. Her Frost Fox lunged low, moving its icy claws across the beast’s frozen knee joint.

The slashed knee gave way, forcing the tall mutated four-arm beast down to knee.

"Huhh..." Lin Yuan stepped forward, his eyes devoid of warmth. "End it!"

The White Tiger leaped high into the air, its claws extending like curved daggers wrapped with strong beast essence.

At the same instant, Bai Ning’s Three-Tailed Fox concentrated every drop of its remaining beast essence into a piercing javelin of glacial ice.

The both lethal strikes launched straight toward the ape’s skull at the same second with a loud sound.

A shockwave tore through the area, pulverizing the surrounding stone into small debris.

The immense gale winds whipped their robes as a cloud of smoke and broken ice covered across the area.

For a few long seconds, only the rustling wind could be heard. The dust slowly settled. The large Rank 4 mutated commander lay calm on the cratered earth, its skull cracked in and its massive body frozen still, devoid of any movement.

Lin Yuan stood still on the ground, the white tiger moving quietly behind his back.

Beside him, Bai Ning took a calm breath, resting a hand on her fox’s back. She turned her head, looking at him with genuine curiosity.

"You fight strangely, Lin Yuan," Bai Ning murmured with a grin on her face.

Lin Yuan darted sideways toward her, adjusting his sleeves. "So do you."

Bai Ning squinted, slightly caught off guard. Then, the faintest trace of a real smile smoothened her calm features. "Fair enough!"

Ten paces back, Elder Mo Tianhe called his Kun Peng back into his aperture with a wave of his wrist.

He looked at the dead, mutated monster, then darted his gaze toward the two young outer disciples standing side by side.

Two junior cultivators had just killed a mutated Rank 4 beast through sheer, ruthless tactical strategy and coordination.

The old elder nodded his head with quiet approval. ’These brats have terrifying instincts...’

Across the mountain, the cacophony of war cries never stopped. The thousands of shrieking primates continued rushing against Red Talon Hall’s disciples and elders.
