Legendary Beast Cultivator

Chapter 98: Winners of the Final Trial!!!!!!

The ancient ruins of Red Sun Peak remained silent in the evening sky. The three disciples stood before the final altar, and Lin Yuan clenched the bracelet with a faint grin on his face.

Chen Ming, and Lian Nichang looked at the golden light slowly descending in front of them, feeling the warmth of it.

"Your will have been recognized," The voice echoed again. "Your determination, your bond, and your conviction have been witnessed. The inheritance shall now be bestowed to you all, brats."

Three streams of golden light descended from the sky at a time.

Whoosh!

Each disciple received a collection of treasures. A rank four defensive treasure and attack artifact, three rank three treasures, few high-tier medicinal herbs, a refined beast essence recovery crystal, and a small jade token with the symbol of the altar.

"...Holy shit." Chen Ming stuttered, staring at the treasures in his hands.

"We got the same and magnificent rewards!" Lian Nichang’s eyes widened.

"Yeah," Lin Yuan murmured, nodding his head slightly.

"The final trial does not judge superiority," The ancient voice responded. "Those who reach the end have proven themselves. Therefore, the inheritance shall be equal."

"I like this ancient guy," Chen Ming grinned, squinting slowly.

"After terrifying us half to death, at least he knows how to reward people," Lian Nichang laughed, patting on Chen Ming’s back.

Lin Yuan quietly smiled, and the golden light surrounding the three slowly faded. The ancient ruin returned to silence.

The five groups slowly gathered once again, Teng Haoran’s group and Xiao Lanxue’s group disciples’ faces carried a pale expression.

The assistant masters gathered everyone at the bottom of Red Sun Peak after a journey of one and half day back down, near a shortcut to the city rather than climbing Azure Mist Peak again.

"You have completed the final academy trial," Shen Ruoxi looked over the fifteen disciples.

"From this moment onward, your academy journey is also completed." Gu Su Feng nodded as a strange silence settled among the disciples.

Nearly six months have passed with classes, trials, beasts, training, friendships, arguments, and countless moments of nearly dying. It was the end of an arc of the mighty journey.

"You’ve all grown," Qin Yuze said, his eyes darting toward Lin Yuan.

"Master Qin, are you going to cry?" Chen Ming immediately grinned.

"Shut up and get inside the caravan," Qin Yuze frowned, clicking his tongue.

"Hahaha!" The disciples burst into laughter.

Soon, the five elegant caravans began their journey back toward Green Hollow City. The mountain sluggishly disappeared behind them, and the crimson maple trees became far. The enormous peaks faded under the mist and horizon.

The journey lasted another one and half days. By the following evening... Green Hollow City appeared in the distance. The enormous city walls shimmered slightly beneath the setting sun.

The merchants are sprawling left and right on the roads. A few cultivators walked through the streets, caravans entered through the massive gates. And news had already spread throughout the city.

Thousands of people gathered near the academy entrance. The five caravans slowly entered the academy grounds, as the disciples stepped out one after another.

Then... they froze, petrified looking at the entire academy courtyard filled with important figures. The clan heads, elders, representatives, and cultivators from almost every influential clan of Green Hollow City.

Representatives of the Gu Clan, Qing Clan, Chi Clan, Chen Clan, Lian Clan, Mu Yue Clan, Huo Clan, Teng Clan, Xiao Clan, and a few other influential families also waiting there, their faces filled with anticipation and awe.

The atmosphere was far more serious than any disciple had expected. Lin Yuan slowly stepped down from the caravan. A familiar figure immediately walked toward him.

"Little brother," Lin Fengyu smirked, walking toward Lin Yuan.

Lin Yuan raised his head, and his elder brother, Lin Fengyu, stood before him with a proud smile.

"I guess you proved yourself," Lin Fengyu nodded his head, his eyes rising as he realized the cultivation stage of Lin Yuan.

"Why are you here?" Lin Yuan grunted, nodding his head.

"To welcome my troublesome little brother, obviously," Lin Fengyu snickered, patting his shoulder. "I heard you caused quite a havoc during the trials."

"Nothing serious," Lin Yuan waved his hand in disapproval.

"Nothing serious?" Chen Ming, standing nearby, immediately laughed. "You almost scared the assistant master half to death!"

Lin Fengyu’s expression changed as he looked toward Lin Yuan. "...What did you do?"

"Nothing," Lin Yuan ignored his elder brother, and calmly walked away.

A loud cough suddenly echoed across the courtyard. "Ahem!"

Every conversation immediately stopped as Lin Cangxuan stepped forward. His long gray hair moved gently in the evening breeze. His expression was filled with satisfaction.

"My dear brats..." As Lin Cangxuan started speaking, the disciples immediately stood straight. "You have completed your final academy trial."

He paused for a second.

"You have climbed Azure Mist Peak and have cleared the Red Sun Peak altars. You have faced beasts, yourselves, and most importantly... you have survived until the end."

The disciples smiled, but Lin Cangxuan’s expression suddenly became mysterious.

"However..." Lin Cangxuan continued, ignoring any banters across the area. "The most important reward has not yet been announced."

The academy courtyard became silent in confusion. Lin Cangxuan slowly turned around, and two imposing figures stood a few steps behind him.

The first man possessed a powerful presence that immediately suppressed the surrounding atmosphere. His long crimson robes fluttered against the wind. A faint phoenix-shaped mark could be seen around his sleeve.

"Allow me to introduce someone," Lin Cangxuan boasted, pointing his hand toward the left side. "This is Xue Hongzhao — Master of Red Talon Hall."

Xue Hongzhao stood calmly, his cultivation aura restrained. Yet even without releasing it... every experienced cultivator present could feel the terrifying pressure under his calm expression.

"His aperture stands at the Divine Beast Realm — Lower Stage," Lin Cangxuan continued, elucidating the strength of Hongzhao.

A few clan representatives looked at each other.

A collective of murmurs lingered across the area for a moment until Lin Cangxuan spoke again.

"Divine Beast Realm..."

"What terrifying cultivation..."

"He is also the wielder of a mighty Phoenix Beast," Lin Cangxuan smiled, and a faint crimson aura briefly appeared behind Xue Hongzhao.

The silhouette of a magnificent phoenix spread its wings for an instant.

The surrounding air trembled, and the disciples immediately became speechless. Xue Hongzhao simply folded his hands behind his back, his expression remained indifferent.

"And this..." Lin Cangxuan then pointed toward the right side of him, "is Teng Lingshan."

A tall middle-aged man stepped forward, his black robes carried the emblem of Green Vine Sect. His eyes were sharp and still.

"He is the master of the Green Vine Sect."

The surrounding disciples became curious.

"Teng Lingshan is a True Beast Realm — Upper Stage cultivator," Lin Cangxuan continued, and a faint white aura emerged behind Teng Lingshan.

A gigantic white tiger silhouette appeared for a moment, its roar shook the courtyard. "He is also a White Tiger Beast holder."

A few clan elders immediately whispered among themselves.

"Another White Tiger..."

"From the Teng Clan, isn’t he?"

"He’s Qingshan’s younger brother."

Teng Lingshan simply nodded, his expression remained unbothered.

"Now..." Lin Cangxuan beamed, his voice echoing across the courtyard. "Let us announce the destination of our disciples."

Every young disciple straightened.

"The groups that successfully obtained the three ancient altar inheritances..." Lin Cangxuan’s gaze darted across the crowd. "Group one, group two, and Group Four."

The nine disciples immediately stepped forward.

Lin Yuan.

Chen Ming.

Lian Nichang.

Xiao Yanrui.

Chi Fenglian.

Huo Ren.

Gu Fang Xin.

Chi Ruyan.

Lian Mei Lin.

"You nine have been recommended to enter Red Talon Hall," Lin Cangxuan smiled as a wave of excitement immediately swept through the courtyard.

"Red Talon Hall!" Chen Ming bellowed, his eyes widening.

"We actually made it!" Lian Nichang clenched his fists.

Xiao Yanrui remained calm, but even his eyes revealed excitement, and Gu Fang Xin smiled proudly. Lin Yuan simply remained silent.

"But..." Lin Yuan interrupted, raising his finger. "Don’t celebrate yet. Being recommended does not mean you are officially disciples to that sect. You will still have to undergo the Red Talon Hall entrance examination. And..."

He paused for a second as his gaze shifted toward the remaining six disciples. "The new blessed disciples who received their beasts from the River of Origin will also participate in the entrance examination."

"This means..." Lin Cangxuan squinted his eyes once. "You will all compete again!"

Chen Ming’s smile slowly disappeared. "...Again?"

"You wanted strength," Lin Yuan glanced at him.

"I know," Chen Ming sighed, nodding his head.

"Now..." Lin Cangxuan chuckled, turning toward the remaining six disciples. "Teng Haoran, Xiao Lanxue, Ying Yue, Yun He, Huo Luo Ren, and Chen Yu Ming."

The six disciples stepped forward. "You have not claimed an altar inheritance."

A faint disappointment appeared across their faces, especially Teng Haoran and Xiao Lanxue. Both had reached the final stage of the trial, and had been incredibly close.

"However, your performance was sufficient," Lin Cangxuan grunted, waving his sleeve. "You six disciples have been recommended to the Green Vine Sect."

Teng Haoran lowered his head, his fists tightened slightly. Xiao Lanxue remained expressionless. Ying Yue released a small sigh. The Green Vine Sect was undoubtedly a respectable sect, but compared with Red Talon Hall there was a clear difference.

For a few moments, the six disciples remained disappointed, then Teng Haoran slowly let out a weary breath.

"Rules are rules," Xiao Lanxue nodded, understanding the situation. "We lost the race."

"At least we’re going somewhere." Huo Luo Ren grinned.

The six disciples slowly lifted their heads, but their disappointment hadn’t completely disappeared. They had fierce determination in their eyes.

"Some of you will walk toward Red Talon Hall," Lin Cangxuan looked across all fifteen disciples. "Some of you will walk toward the Green Vine Sect. But none of you should believe your journey ends there."

He slowly raised his hand. "The academy taught you how to survive. The sects will teach you how to truly cultivate."

"You will meet geniuses far beyond Green Hollow City," Lin Cangxuan beamed, his voice echoing across the courtyard. "You will encounter beasts you have never seen, you will face cultivators who may be stronger than you, sometimes you will lose and sometimes you will win. But that is why you are leaving. To learn from mistakes and reach the heavens!"

The disciples remained silent. Lin Cangxuan’s eyes shone with anticipation.

"Prepare yourselves, your academy journey has ended." Lin Cangxuan looked toward Lin Yuan. "And your cultivation journey... is about to begin."

A faint smile appeared on his face. "Prepare for the beginning of a great journey, brats!"

The courtyard burst out into cheers. Above them, the evening sky slowly darkened over Green Hollow City.
