The enormous creature was sliced in half, passing through Felix with its severed body—the black blood spat everywhere, except on Felix, who was protected by his Aura.

Felix sheathed Rain and locked it in his leather belt.

He turned around and scrutinized the enormous creature’s body.

It was a Hollow Serpent, an enormous subterranean snake that was forty-five meters in length.

Felix moved forward and scrutinized its body. There were parts that could be edible, but it was required to be cooked by fire energy to cleanse its corrupted energy.

It was not worth it. Felix was not currently hungry.

After losing interest, he turned towards the pool and scrutinized it closely.

Suddenly, an idea struck him. This could be a perfect environment for Mia to cultivate, right? Guide?

[Your assumption is correct, Host. This is actually a blessed environment for Mia’s cultivation.

Furthermore, there is a higher chance that once she completely exhausted the corrupted energy in the water, it will turn into drinkable water.]

Felix’s face lit up in enthusiasm.

He circled the pool for a while and gauged its depth.

It was able to hold at least two Hollow Snakes in total, which showed the amount of corrupted energy was no joke.

He frowned. "Can Mia even meditate here judging from the quality of the corrupted energy in the pool?"

[It will be a piece of cake for her, Host. Don’t worry, we’ll look after her once she meditates.]

Receiving Guide’s assurance gave Felix a sense of relief.

He soon lost interest and left the cave.

He explored other cave chambers connected to the cave he had entered.

He entered a chamber where he encountered a large colony occupying the cave ceilings.

As soon as Felix entered, they immediately dropped and ambushed Felix from all sides.

They were the Crawling Fiends—large insectoid predators measuring roughly two to three meters in length.

Their bodies were low and flattened, allowing them to cling to cavern ceilings without being easily noticed from below.

In fact, Felix did not notice them until the air around him shifted, conveying their presence.

They possessed eight long, jointed limbs, each ending in several hooked claws capable of gripping smooth obsidian.

Their exoskeleton was a dull black-gray color, closely resembling the surrounding stone.

Thin crimson lines ran between their armor plates, faintly glowing as they became active in hunting Felix.

Their heads were almost entirely composed of a circular mouth surrounded by layers of short sensory tendrils.

Rather than conventional eyes, they possessed dozens of tiny light-sensitive organs along their bodies.

Their underside was considerably paler, with rows of flexible plates covering their abdomen.

When they were motionless against the ceiling, they appeared like a cluster of dark rocks.

Felix immediately reacted, and so did Moon and Ember.

Moon quickly brandished her claws and engaged in a killing spree, while Ember hurriedly went closer to Felix for protection while hurriedly providing support for them with her solar aura.

Felix, who was already grasping Rain’s hilt with his left hand, immediately pulled the sword into the air.

At the same time, his Aura exploded, forcing the Crawling Fiends to stand motionless for a second out of terror.

When Rain slowly descended and exploded with her own Aura, Felix grabbed the hilt and began his killing spree.

The Crawling Fiends and Shadow Howlers were no different, albeit the former possessed more numbers.

For Felix, they were nothing but lambs for slaughter.

River Strike was executed repeatedly, as though Felix possessed a vast amount of water energy.

At the current level, Felix’s River Strike truly appeared to have created an image of a river.

Endlessly flowing, possessing unstoppable momentum that was difficult to obstruct.

The Crawling Fiends were overwhelmed; not a single one of them could break the inevitability of the river striking them.

The remaining two Crawling Fiends were those who were not given time to ambush Felix and Moon.

Felix personally jumped towards them and ended their lives in one motion.

Likewise, Moon silently arrived in front of them, and her claws sharpened and lengthened by her Aura amplified by Killing Intent sliced through their bodies in one swift motion.

When they were finished, Felix sheathed Rain with his left hand fully grasping the hilt.

He landed on the cold floor and Moon gracefully arrived on his right shoulder.

Ember flew to his left shoulder and immediately told him, "Master, I was scared!"

Felix smiled. Even he did not perceive the presence of the Crawling Fiends; they were far too sneaky.

Thankfully, Ember herself quickly reacted; with her radiant wings, her flight speed was almost as fast as Moon’s, as she released heatwaves that immediately revealed the existence of the Crawling Fiends.

Felix patted Ember and complimented her to give her assurance.

She did the same for Moon, discerning that despite her indifference, her mood subtly brightened when Felix complimented her.

When they were finished, they scrutinized the chamber and found nothing noteworthy, except for a carcass at the end of the cave chamber.

It was clear that the Crawling Fiends utilized the carcass to attract more food.

Felix immediately lost interest and returned to the main cave.

He soon found another cave chamber and he immediately heightened his senses.

He entered a fungal chamber, where fungi, spores, and cave organisms resided inside.

They immediately caught his interest.

He walked near the cave walls when suddenly, he spotted eight-legged insectoid creatures measuring approximately one to two meters long, crawling out of the wall, having consumed the fungi.

Their bodies were unusually thin and partially translucent.

Instead of a traditional exoskeleton, they possessed overlapping plates of dark, glass-like material through which their internal organs could be seen.

A faint pale-blue light constantly pulsed within their bodies.

Their eight legs were long and extremely thin, ending in soft, segmented pads that allowed them to move across stone without producing much vibration.

Their heads possessed no visible eyes.

Instead, several small circular openings surrounded their heads and constantly emitted faint clicking sounds.

Their abdomen was elongated and segmented, with each movement producing a subtle vibration through the surrounding stone.

As one creature crawled out after the other, Felix soon realized he encountered an insectoid colony.

From their movement, it appeared they had noticed him.

Felix frowned. Almost immediately, he summoned Ashen and pulled the string.

Before the arrow could materialize, the creatures seemed to have sensed that Felix was not a weak creature and immediately hid behind the walls, floors, ceiling, and every corner of the narrow cave.

Felix frowned, but at the same time, he silently felt relieved.

He did not know the creatures’ abilities, and judging by the size of the cave, he would be at a disadvantage in fighting against a colony.

He scrutinized the cave chamber for a while and consulted Guide.

"Are there any useful materials here?"

[Nothing from your capability, Host. Unless you practice alchemy, those organisms possess no value for you.]

Felix was intrigued. Alchemy?

[Alchemy is the art of refining magical herbs, minerals, and beast cores into potent medicinal pills and elixirs.]

Felix nodded. He finally recalled that alchemy also existed in their world.

Felix left and found another cave chamber. Like the insect demonic creatures he encountered, they immediately hid their bodies.

For instance, a gecko-like creature with broad, flattened bodies flattened their bodies against the rock and became almost indistinguishable from the surrounding obsidian after being threatened by Moon.

Felix had also encountered a cave chamber where a large colony didn’t actively attack him.

They appeared to be rather peaceful creatures, as long as their feeding ground was not disturbed.

Felix scrutinized them from a distance.

These demonic creatures were enormous nocturnal moth-like creatures with wingspans ranging from one to three meters.

Their bodies were thin and covered in fine black fur.

Their wings were translucent and almost completely colorless near the edges, while their centers contained intricate patterns resembling glowing silver-white veins.

These patterns constantly shifted when the moth absorbed spiritual energy.

Their large compound eyes possessed a faint violet glow.

Two long antennae extended from their heads and continuously moved through the air, detecting concentrations of spiritual energy.

Their wings released extremely fine luminous particles whenever they flew.

These particles resembled tiny floating stars in the darkness.

They gathered around the cave chamber where it contained ancient bones, abyss crystal, and places where powerful battles occurred.

In other words, the ancient bones were a powerful material for research.

Felix was in a dilemma.

The moth demonic creatures residing in the cave chamber were already a large colony, enough to threaten Felix.

Their numbers were innumerable, and Felix was at a clear disadvantage because of the terrain.

In the end, Felix and his beasts scrutinized the ancient bones, carcasses of demonic creatures that exuded an aura closer to the Lord’s rank, and spiritual remains.

Felix felt it was a pity, but for him, it was not worth the risk.

Felix left and spent the next few hours visiting the cave chambers.

However, there was not a single unique cave chamber he encountered.

Most of them were similar to those he encountered, and every single demonic creature that resided inside benefited from the cave chamber.

Of course, Felix was delighted that there were five other pools he encountered.

As Felix ventured around the cave networks, there was one thing he noticed from his direction.

He was actually descending from the vertical cliffs.

If he kept his pace, he would soon arrive on the ground below the vertical cliffs...
