Her blood filled his mouth, and the thirst that had been scraping him raw all this time finally, finally got the soothing it had been craving.

Her blood was a wonder, as if he had bitten into the nectar of a perfectly ripe, forbidden fruit.

He gulped, and it sweetened through him as if he had finally drunk water after walking through a desert, pouring down into his chest, into his sangour and through his body along that strange network.

The moans she breathed right into his ear drew him closer as one of his hands brushed along her naked thigh, with the other running along the curvature of her hip.

And eventually, he felt Florence’s palms draw down flat onto his chest and shove.

"...Wait, I feel," She bit hard down against her lips, muffling the breath that escaped, interrupting her, "Dion, I feel... lightheaded."

She tried to speak through her pushing against his chest, but she may as well have been pushing on the wall she was pinned to

A small, strangled sound got past her teeth, and still he didn’t stop.

At the rate that he was going, soon enough, just as he had done to Anastasia, he would suck her dry and kill her. And unlike her, Florence didn’t have the endurance to live long enough that he would be able to save her from the doors of death.

But even though he had heard her, his jaw would not open, and he felt himself draw in another mouthful of her blood.

The strength in her pushing hands reduced, and he could feel the difference in how her heart was beginning to struggle to pull for blood, as well as how much shallower her breathing was becoming.

And her fists, right over his chest, stopped trying to push, clenching against his chest.

Florence gave up, her eyes finally closing as she released herself to the consolation of sensation.

"At least... just take care of Julian."

Florence hoped... she really hoped as she said so, that she could trust he would take him when she passed out, or died.

And it was the sound of her voice cracking and falling within his ear, sounding as if she had been falling and losing herself to unconsciousness, that finally reached him, even though he hadn’t heard what she said.

Suddenly, Florence in his arms gradually began to recover, the strength returning to her heart and her body. He wasn’t looking at it, but her skin tone immediately began to improve.

Dion had stopped drinking, and in the next few moments, he dragged himself free from her, his breathing heavier.

His eyes were barely open, still slit and pulsing red as he looked at his fang wounds over the lower part of her neck; the wound strangely didn’t bleed at all.

Florence’s breath tickled against his neck, and she whispered, "That was..."

"Frightening? Disgusting?"

"It was breathtaking."

When she said that, without them being possessed by the sensation of it all anymore, she hugged herself closer into him. She didn’t care about questioning why she suddenly felt perfectly fine. The only thing that mattered about what she felt right now, within herself, and from the way he was holding her, was them.

When she moved, the both of them immediately became aware of the wetness from between her legs, and how even through the pants he wore, Dion’s erection pressed out, right beneath the source of her greatest burning desire right now.

"...You’ll take care of Julian yourself. I can’t do that and keep you alive."

And hearing that from him, understanding what it insinuated, snapped something free within her.

"I never do this..."

Florence swallowed and pulled her head free from his neck, their expressions possessed with the velvety lasciviousness of what they had just experienced. Her eyes flickered down to his lips, and back up to his eyes.

"But I really want to have sex with you right now, and it has nothing to do with us leaving."

Florence really did not know what he had possessed her with. But the sensation festering within her, and strangely, there was something else alongside that. It was almost as if she could feel his desire for her stirring inside her.

She didn’t understand it, but with her body as it was, and with how vehement the emotion she felt from him was, she couldn’t help but give herself to her own as well.

And yet, Dion pried her legs from his waist, and her arms from his neck as he helped her down to her feet.

"You should put your clothes on."

Dion walked through the office as he said so.

He picked up her clothing piece by piece while she watched with her eyes a little wide.

And then, just as unexpectedly as she had found that he refused, she felt herself smile faintly.

Her mouth had opened to say something about his rejection, but she then swallowed it down and her hands rose to touch her neck. She could still feel the lingering sensation of him sucking on her, and now, she could feel the bite wounds which strangely didn’t bleed.

’I have to hide them somehow...’

She watched him silently as he brought her clothes back to her.

"...What are you?" She asked as he reached out to hand the clothes over.

Her hands reached out, and they both held her clothes briefly as she watched his eyes gradually return to a circular shape and the luminance in them dimmed.

"The same kind of vampire I read about?"

Then he let go, and she brought her clothes back to her chest.

"I’m not going to sleep with you," he said. "That was never what I wanted from you. But now you’ve seen what you’ve seen, and I can’t have you staying behind to tell everyone in this building what I am."

Florence’s mouth pressed thin. Her jaw tensed faintly and her eyes narrowed by a fraction, but she said nothing.

"And I’m not going to confirm or deny what you asked."

But then, she opened her mouth to respond, her brows furrowed in slight frustration.
