Chapter 147: Chapter 147: Summarizing

After leaving the Thought Realm, Lloyd got up, washed up, and prepared to head back to his office to summarize last night’s insights. He planned to follow the example of the butler and the Chief Judge by writing his own ’Lloyd’s Notes’.

This was a suggestion the Chief Judge had given him last night. He didn’t need to show it to anyone; it was mainly for his own summarization, something to reflect on later. After all, a battle on last night’s level was a rare sight.

Lloyd called for the little kitten, ready to leave. Of course, he didn’t forget the Saint Statue on his nightstand.

But when he picked up the Saint Statue, he noticed it seemed a little different from last night.

The previously blurry, girlish silhouette had become slightly clearer. He could now distinctly make out the slender figure of a young woman.

Although her facial features and clothing details were still absent, it didn’t stop Lloyd from roughly imagining her appearance.

’She probably has an exquisitely beautiful face, a gentle aura, and delicate skin. A petite frame, short blue hair... she’d likely be wearing a white dress, revealing a pair of delicate, flawless feet, bare of shoes or socks. She’d exude a tempting sweetness... if only I could hold them in my palm...’

As his thoughts wandered, Lloyd shook his head forcefully, trying to cast out the wicked ideas.

’As a member of the Sect, I can’t be even the slightest bit disrespectful to the Saint. And I certainly don’t dare to create all sorts of fan works of the Saint, unlike those audacious writers and artists out there.’

He obediently tucked the Saint Statue into his pocket, took the elevator back up, and then scratched the little kitten’s head, secretly taking a little advantage of Weiya.

"Go find your mom."

"Meow meow..."

The little kitten crawled out of his pocket and expertly scurried into Weiya’s office.

Lloyd returned to his own office and began to earnestly write his summary of the previous night. He even emulated the butler’s method, using an encrypted script he had only just learned:

"Y3zt3rdai’z b4ttl3 m8de m3 r3al1ze..."

But after just writing the opening, he realized he could barely remember this encrypted script himself. After a moment’s thought, he switched back to normal text:

"A battle between High-ranking Powerhouses doesn’t involve many flashy techniques. Without the use of Holy Artifacts, it’s more of a simple and direct clash of strength. They don’t use their abilities like playing cards, one after another. Instead, they unleash their full power in an instant."

"To fight like that, a massive amount of Spiritual Power is fundamental. But it also requires powerful inspiration to guide and lock onto targets. You must also have enough Rationality to stay clear-headed during the fight. Otherwise, even someone at the Advisor’s level would meet a grim end after losing their composure."

"As for Cognition, it’s the prerequisite for mastering these powers. That’s why the four Extraordinary Attributes tend to become more and more important in the later stages. They are like a foundation; it must be solid enough to build a magnificent tower on top."

"You also need vast combat experience, as well as incredible speed of thought and reaction. The tempo of their battles is just too fast. In just a few seconds, their abilities clashed dozens of times. An ordinary Extraordinary Being couldn’t possibly keep up with such a pace."

He sucked in a sharp breath. "So High-ranking Powerhouses are this terrifying."

"The [Curse] system is far more powerful than I previously anticipated. Although Mister Butler was dismissive of it in his notes, he was only facing low-level, weak outlaws at the time. If he could have witnessed what happened last night, he would probably change his assessment of the [Curse] system, right?"

"In the hands of a hardened outlaw like the Advisor, this system was like a raging tempest. Combined with its advantages in Divination, a High Position [Curse] system outlaw would likely be extremely troublesome. That’s why we have to nip them in the bud as soon as possible."

"The same goes for the [Calamity] system. The butler also gave it a low rating, believing that the ’accidents’ it causes could easily backfire and kill the user..."

"But in the hands of a hardened outlaw like the Advisor, it had the miraculous effect of ’disabling Holy Artifacts.’ The various ’accidents’ also became controllable. He could even accumulate ’accidents’ to defy physics and conventions, forcefully causing disasters like lightning strikes and ground fissures. It possesses immense destructive power. Just thinking back on it is frightening."

"Fortunately, the [Veto] system is just as powerful. It truly is the most comprehensive system, balanced in both offense and defense. Under the control of a powerhouse at the Grand Judge’s level, it could not only counter the Advisor’s two systems but also control the battle’s collateral damage. Could any other system do that?"

"Furthermore, the [Veto] system’s nature of revolving around the [Veto Declaration] is perfectly suited for such high-intensity, fast-paced combat. It gives the user more mental Space to think about other things, rather than worrying about which card to play."

"It even has the wonderful application of being able to [Veto] spatial distances. Its upper limit is higher than I expected. All in all, our [Veto] system is amazing!"

"As for [Twist]..."

Lloyd reached this point in his writing, thought for a moment, then forcefully crossed out those words, deciding to summarize it in his head instead.

’As for the [Twist] system, the Advisor didn’t really show much of it. It seems he hadn’t mastered it either. So I didn’t get to see the power of the [Twist] system in a High Position battle.’

’Instead, it was that inexplicable killing intent that I found so dangerous. Toward the end, it was even able to affect my judgment. That’s why the Advisor fell. It seems I’ll have to be more careful in the future...’

He was beginning to feel apprehensive about his own Taboo System again, but his thoughts quickly shifted, and he became optimistic.

’But no matter what, a system that even a powerhouse like the Advisor would risk delving into must be incredibly strong. I’m absolutely convinced of it!’

’Our [Twist] system is amazing!’

’Then again, that hardened outlaw, the Advisor, was absurdly strong, wasn’t he? To delve into two Taboo Systems without the Saint’s Shelter, and even dabble in [Twist]—the number one system for getting yourself killed?’

’How did he maintain his Rationality? And how did he deal with the suicidal promotion conditions of the [Twist] system?’

’And... how did he find me in the end?’

’Do we [Twist] users attract each other?’

’Or is this the [Destiny] the Saint mentioned?’

As Lloyd’s thoughts drifted, his mind began to wander, and the questions he posed grew deeper and deeper.

He didn’t stop until his inspiration and Intuition started to warn him, at which point he quickly shook his head and cut his train of thought.

’Don’t think too much... Don’t Ask Too Much...’

And he still hadn’t realized the connection between the Advisor and the Book of Truth.

Because he had obtained the Book of Truth from that octopus-man who had inexplicably committed suicide, and when Lloyd browsed through the man’s Memory Fragments, he had seen no connection between him and the Advisor.
