Limitless Summoner System

Tyler was standing in the middle of a forest, with beasts lurking everywhere. He had no idea why he had his staff, but he was grateful he did. Shadow was already out sniffing the air in the area, and Ash flew out and caught on fire.

"Ash!" Tyler screamed.

"Quiet. You’re attracting unwanted attention," Shadow said sternly.

The baby Phoenix was now much larger and Tyler felt the difference in power. Ash spewed a pressurized fire blast at several beasts approaching them and Tyler had trouble keeping up with his system messages. He tried to focus on the important ones.

[You are now level 5. Daily quests activated. 230/600 experience. Ash has evolved to adolescent Phoenix.]

Tyler was shocked but figured out where they were.

"We’re in the Land of Summoned Monsters, but how?"

"Didn’t you see the creepy pentagram below us? Someone tried getting here unnaturally and it got us instead. Fuckers," Ash’s voice was deeper but he was still the same sarcastic, funny Phoenix.

"How did you evolve?! I thought you said you needed me to power up."

"Not sure Tyler. I just knew it was time. This is a different realm, maybe it has fast tracked my evolution because I’ve been here as an adult."

"I feel more powerful as well but not near an evolution," Shadow said cheerfully. "I’m surprised you didn’t notice the pentagram Tyler."

"Sorry, guess I missed it. How do we get out of here? I’m just glad we are all safe."

"You are kind, Tyler. I am glad we are too. We need to find the main castle, that’s the safest way to get back. Time flows differently here. One week here is only a day and night back home so I’d advise you get that system quest done and tame a master ranked beast," Shadow answered calmly.

"Good choice on Shadow at class buddy. That head of yours is going to attract a lot of contracts if word starts spreading. Just be careful."

"Ok so it was late Friday night. You’re saying I’ll be here for a week and it’ll only be Sunday if I manage to get back in that amount of time?"

"Yes, or Monday if you take two weeks. But let’s not think about that. Let’s focus on the task at hand. Shadow is willing to lead, so let’s follow her! I’m coming out buddy!" Ash confidently chirped.

His beautiful wolf guided him through the forest. Tyler tried to take it all in. The trees were blue, the grass was purple and nowhere felt safe. Ash was circling above, keeping an eye out for any potential threats.

Tyler continued to rack up experience from his familiar’s kills.

Tyler wasn’t happy that he only got one stat point instead of seven, but he was glad he had a reasonable daily quest. He stashed the point and didn’t feel like relying on his system for everything so he talked to his familiars instead, especially after they found something Tyler didn’t recognize.

"This looks like a peaceful spot. What is going on here? It looks like a miniature city and these beasts look different. Some of them look human. What is really going on?"

Ash calmly explained.

"This is Reza, a small town with Eidolons who were formerly contracted and have since retired. Summoners are extinct these days. You’re a lucky guy, Tyler." Ashe explained.

"The reason some of them take on a humanlike appearance is because they’re able to shapeshift. They are very powerful so treat them with the utmost respect. I would bow to everyone you pass and not speak unless spoken too. We will be inside you now." Shadow added.

"Thanks Ash and Shadow. I love you both!"

"I’ve never had a host treat me like this before, thank you." Shadow said politely.

"Hopeless romantic," Ash teased. "I love ya too buddy. You broke my curse!"

Tyler followed their advice while looking for an inn or hotel. He remembered playing rpg games and tried to imagine this town like one in the games where you could find an inn, rest for the night and wake up with full health, statuses restored and well rested. He wasn’t sure his money was worth anything here and his cell phone didn’t work.

"You look lost young one," a beautiful succubus flirted while using her tail to lift up Tyler’s chin.

"Quick, Fly away!"

"I can’t fly yet but why avoid her? You said to show respect."

"I forgot about Vivian. She will charm you and you’ll be bound to her. Politely excuse yourself and say you have a mythological already and aren’t strong enough to summon something so beautiful and powerful."

Tyler bowed. "I am ok, I’m just looking for an inn. My mythological familiar is tired and I don’t think I could handle someone as beautiful and powerful as you with me, so please excuse me."

The succubus smiled and let him leave, but Tyler grinned because of what the mythological Eidolon said.

"Maybe one day you will be and I’ll sign a contract and blow your mind."

"That would be an honor." He said, bowed again and walked away as quickly as he could.

He finally found an inn.

Tyler noticed an Eidolon who looked more human than the others. It was a little awkward, but Tyler was polite, respectful and bowed before speaking.

"Hello. I am not from this realm and am in need of rest. You have a lovely establishment. Is there any way I could work out an arrangement for a week here? I do not have Eidolonian currency, I am sorry."

"Hmmmm. A human? I haven’t seen a human in...actually I can’t even remember that last time I saw a human. How did you arrive here?"

"I’m a summoner but a weird pentagram formed underneath me. One of my familiars believes someone on my planet, Vexarra, was trying to force their way here and we were sucked in."

"That’s unfortunate. Well, what would lead me to believe I can trust you?" The five foot two inch Eidolon, with black hair and brown eyes.

"I can show you my familiars?"

"Hmmmmm."

"Heya Esper," Ash said as he appeared from the center of Tyler’s chest.

"Oh, hello Seraphim. It has been many years. How are you doing?" Esper said, politely bowing.

’Why didn’t he tell me his real name? Interesting,’ Tyler wondered.

"I liked the one you gave me," Ash chucked.

"Please call me Ash and not by my Eidolon name."

"Ok cool, carry on, sorry my thought interrupted you!"

"Never better actually. What can we help you with?"

"There’s a group of goblins that keep storming this town, stealing whatever they can get their filthy little hands on and rush away. Bring me a crystal heart of their leader and you have a deal."

"Do you think my host and I can rest first or do we have to complete the job beforehand?"

"Go rest, please! Nice to meet you Tyler."

"You as well, Esper," He said with a polite bow.

"Room 333." He said as he handed Tyler a key.

’What’s up with all these 3’s. Year 3333 and now room 333.’

Tyler made his way to the third floor via a staircase to the right and noticed how all the colors on everything were completely different from what he was accustomed to not only on earth, but Vexarra as well.

He used the key and found a small, comfortable living space with a nice bed, mattress and nightstand. There was no tv but a nice refrigerator packed with potions.

"What’s the difference between the colors?"

"Red is for your health. Blue is mana. Green is for food. Don’t touch the others. Drink all three and get some rest!"
