Bahamut and Asura looked shocked, but they weren’t nearly as shocked as the members of Tyler’s harem.

"Tyler, NO!" Sophie demanded. "Kill me."

"Nope, you’re too strong, kill me instead." Kass demanded.

"You two are so stupid!" Amanda screamed. "Let me do it! My people hate me as it is! The world loses nothing if I’m dead!"

"Thank you, but please stop. It’s hard enough as it is to make this decision," Tyler pleaded while walking toward Amanda. He gently kissed her and put his hands on her shoulders, staring into her beautiful blue eyes.

"Don’t EVER think this world would lose nothing if you died. You are an amazing, funny, kind and caring person and it’s been really fun to watch you come out of your shell. Don’t change a damn thing about yourself and your people can rot in hell if they feel that way about you. I love and care about you more than you’ll ever know, so make sure to find someone who treats you well." Tyler said, barely managing to get out the last sentence.

"Tyler... don’t do it!" She pleaded while hugging him.

"I can’t kill Ash, Vivian or Shadow and one of you isn’t going to die because I don’t have the strength required to become a real summoner."

Tyler walked over to Sophie, kissed her and she jokingly pushed him away before pulling him tight for a hug.

"Stop letting your parents dictate who you are. You are a beautiful badass, the smartest person I know and I’ll never forget the look on your face when I asked you if you wanted to go out for coffee. It’s a real thing, just not on Vexarra. I love you and care about you deeply and make sure not to choose another jackass. Third time should be the charm, right?" He smiled while wiping away his tears.

Sophie just cried into his chest. She couldn’t speak and was at a loss.

"And then there’s my favorite troublemaker," Tyler laughed while hugging and kissing Kass.

"Your confidence is remarkable and it’s a damn shame we don’t get to get to know each other more. I never got to learn your demon art and there are so many things I’ve wanted to ask you but just haven’t had the time. I love you just like I love the other two, but you three should stay friends. Make sure to tell Adam, Zack and Zain we had a good run for me, ok?" Tyler said as his familiars came out from his chest.

"Freely?" Asura whispered to Bahamut, who gave a stern nod.

"Interesting," he said after transforming into his human form. Just like his wife, he was magnificently handsome. Then again, he could shapeshift into any form, so why not look good for her?

"It’s been fun Viv," Tyler smiled while giving her a hug.

"Thanks for not killing one of us. That takes guts. I’ll make sure the ladies are taken care of, as long as our King is ok with it."

Bahamut shook his head yes and Tyler took a deep breath.

"Shadow, go be free with your pack and lead it like you were supposed to for me ok?"

"That would be nice. I’m just a platinum ranked beast who can’t even shapeshift into an Eidolon. Just kill me and save yourself! It’s such an easy choice." Shadow pleaded while Tyler pet her gently.

"That wouldn’t be right and you’re so much more than that."

Tyler could feel Ash on his shoulder. Of all the conversations, this one was going to hurt the most.

"You know everything about me and have been with me since birth. I’ve watched you die, only to evolve. You’re the most hilarious, trustworthy and powerful friend anyone could ever ask for and hopefully one of these days you won’t end up with a dumb ass host," Tyler said, now fully in tears. This was too much.

Ash changed his size and wrapped his wings around him. Tyler could feel the warmth from his favorite familiar. It helped soothe the pain he knew was coming.

"I’m not cursed any more and you’re not a dumbass host. You put other people first and you treat us as equals. That’s all we ever wanted. Go rest peacefully kid, you deserve it."

Tyler smiled. "Thanks buddy."

He turned and threw his staff to Bahamut, who caught it like it was nothing.

"So this is your decision?" Asura asked with a kind smile.

"Yes it is. I will not kill any of my family members so take my life instead."

"Family members?" Bahamut asked curiously.

"Yes, they aren’t my familiars. They’re my family."

"As you see fit." Bahamut said before changing back into his dragon form.

’Mom, Dad, Nina... I’ll see you soon.’ Tyler thought before Bahamut quickly swallowed him whole.

’I have no familiars and I’m in the stomach of a dragon. One step in that acid and I’m dead. I am covered in saliva and goo.’

"Why couldn’t you kill one of them?" Bahamut asked, still confused why a human couldn’t follow a simple order from him.

"Why would it be fair to kill one of them when I’m the one who’s only been here for two months? Seraphim and Vivian have lived long lives, sure, but he didn’t choose this. She’s in a happy relationship and has been nothing but helpful. Shadow was taken away from her pack and domesticated like a dog. Who am I to take their lives?"

"So if a Human King or Queen asked you to take the lives of one of your women, the result would be the same?"

"Of course it would. It’s just who I am."

"But you’re disobeying a direct order from a god."

"So you are real. I always knew it, just never pictured you as a dragon if I’m being honest." Tyler smiled.

"I come in many forms Mr. Rask and I am not the only god. I did allow you to keep your last name, though." Bahamut chuckled.

"So you gave me the system?"

"Nope. That would be my wife. She wanted the only summoner to be better equipped to handle what is thrown their way."

"Well, she’s a genius because that thing is amazing. It’s like a cheat code for life. I feel bad hiding my identity but they wouldn’t believe me if I told them. I already tried with Sophie when I met her. It’s like Ash and my system said... she thought I was insane."

"Is she wrong?" The King snickered.

"Well, seeing as how I should be dead and I’m in the belly of a god right now, I think that answer is probably yes." Tyler also laughed.

"Would you like to see what is going on in the chamber right now? It’s quite beautiful."

"You’d let me do that? That’d be a nice going away gift."

"Tyler, I’m not going to kill you. I’m proud of you. I would have accepted you if you followed my order, but for doing something so bold, I think some power will do. I already know what your system said and sorry to disappoint you. The belly of the beast isn’t some epic quest."

"Really?! Thank you so much! You are a kind King." Tyler said excitedly.

He watched in amazement as the girls were hugging each other and crying, including someone who he could only deduce as Shadow with Vivian. It was a beautiful black woman with gorgeous black hair and beautiful amber eyes but looked like an Eidolon. She had a beautiful ethereal glow to her in this realm, as did Ash and Vivian.

"Did you really bless Shadow as an Eidolon? That’s amazing, thank you so much!"

"You are thanking the wrong person. My wife did that. Do you see the importance of your life now?" Bahamut asked sincerely.

"Why me though? Your wife’s system said my high moral character, success and intelligence were all factors in my reincarnation but to answer your question no, I don’t understand the importance of my life. I’m just a normal person who tries to do good things."

"You have answered your own question several times without realizing it. Your willingness to put others first, treat us as equals, lift people’s spirits when they are down, motivate others and your desire to grow and become strong enough to protect them. Those are some of the reasons why. You also willingly gave your life to spare your familiars."

Tyler smiled. "Thanks Bahamut. I appreciate that and the second chance at life is kind of cool. I just hope I make the best of it."

"You will. You’re upsetting my stomach so time to throw you back up. This might be a little unpleasant," the dragon laughed before spitting Tyler out of his mouth.

As soon as Tyler came flying out of the King’s mouth, Asura used magic Tyler nor the girls had seen before to return him to his clean, handsome self. He was no longer covered in dragon goo.

"TYLER!" The girls screamed. Ash flew into him instantly.

"I honestly thought you were dead." Ash said sadly.

"Me too buddy. I guess you’re stuck with me."

"I can live with that! Glad to have you back and look at Shadow! She’s Master rank!"
