Limitless Summoner System

Chapter 33: Monday Funday #Duels

Vivian scared Amanda when she went into the bathroom, causing them both to laugh afterwards. Tyler received all the good news from his familiar when she returned about how great Amanda felt, about how happy she was and how well he treated her. He was bummed to know the first time wasn’t great, but Vivian reminded her that wasn’t either of their fault.

They walked to the cafeteria hand in hand and saw Sophie and company all sitting at a new table. Sophie’s friends migrated to them, which was new for Tyler. After introductions and good morning kisses to Kass and Sophie, Tyler settled in still holding hands with Amanda.

"How’d your date go?" Tyler asked Adam, who was sitting next to Cecelia.

"Really well. Looks like you two had quite the weekend," Adam laughed.

"Yup, it was great. Tyler’s an awesome guy." Amanda said while kissing him on the cheek.

"And you’re an amazing young woman." He smiled back.

What continued to amaze Tyler was how genuinely happy Sophie and Kass were for Amanda and how no one at the table, even the people he just met, cared that he was in a serious relationship with multiple women. Each of his girlfriends were wearing the bracelet he bought them which made him happy. They all casually ate breakfast until it was time to go to their first class.

"And now you’re all mine babe," Sophie said while grabbing his hand.

"Yes I am." He smiled as they walked to their first class. It was another boring, uneventful day until they got to dueling.

"Tyler, you have your fourth placement match during our period today. Your opponent is in our class."

"Oh?" Tyler smirked, brimming with confidence.

"Yes, you will be fighting Taylor in 20 minutes. Good luck." The demon Professor said with a polite bow.

"Thanks Sensei," Tyler bowed back.

"You better win for me babe." Sophie flirted.

"If I can’t win with four familiars at Master rank and above, I don’t deserve you," he said matter-of-factly.

Sophie frowned. "Don’t think of it like that please?"

Tyler returned the frown. "I love that you can protect me and are so independent but what I don’t love is how you take what your parents say about you to heart. Like we didn’t even celebrate you becoming A rank it was like nothing changed."

"That’s because anything below S is acceptable in my family and I’m a failure until I get there."

"Sophie, that’s not true. If you’re a failure, what are all of your friends and what am I?"

She paused. She never put it in that context or perspective before.

"I don’t think any of you are failures." She smiled.

"Then how can you say that about yourself when you’re ranked higher than all of us!" He said with a giant hug.

"Also, thank you for being such a good friend to Amanda. The bracelet looks good on you. I love you Sophie, I’m not going to say it to you all the time because it’ll drive you nuts but you need to hear it once in a while."

Neither of them realized they had a crowd around them at this point despite Adam’s best efforts to get everyone away from them.

"I love you too Tyler." She said with a kiss.

"That’s some great training you two are doing," Adam laughed.

"You wanna spar?" Sophie grinned.

"Let’s do it!"

*****

"Let’s raise the stakes. Sign up for an official match. I know you snuck in those placements without telling anyone." Sophie grinned.

"Busted!" Adam smiled. "Sorry bro, had to get em in. If I beat Sophie, I’ll climb into the top 500 and I’m currently ranked 1500."

"Woah, you’d climb that many spots?" Tyler asked, surprised.

"I’m kind of in the top 200 now." Sophie admitted.

"When?!"

"This weekend. I did a few matches. Didn’t lose."

"I don’t think you will lose!" He smiled before yelling "Master Sanju!"

"These two want an official match!" Amanda said cheerfully.

"Ok! Let me grab my tablet." He said before sprinting to grab it. He registered the details as an official match.

"B rank Adam Fawkes vs A rank Sophie Grace."

"When did you hit B rank? What the hell did I miss this weekend?" Tyler facepalmed.

"It’s common at the end of the quarter for people to rank up or down. Some stay the same, but not me," Adam smirked.

"Alright everyone we have an official match beginning in 3-2-1 BEGIN!"

Adam was quick with his familiars but the fight was laughable. Sophie froze the snakes coming her way and dodged the lunging Orochi with ease.

To be funny, she even said "hey big guy!" And petted his head while he flew by her.

"Oh come on!" Adam complained.

Sophie grinned and Adam couldn’t move. His feet were frozen to the floor. She walked up slowly with a katana drawn before Adam sighed.

"You win!"

"Match Sophie!" Professor Sanju said as the classroom erupted with cheers.

Sophie gained one point and Adam lost one. It didn’t change the standings but it made Tyler eager for his upcoming battle.

"Alright ladies and gentlemen for our next match we have Tyler Rask in his fourth placement against Taylor Moore who is in her final placement. She is 4-0 and Tyler is 3-0. Both contenders please step forward."

A much larger crowd formed and Tyler noticed some of the older students walking into the dojo.

"Anyone can watch sensei?"

"Yes. Some of them have free periods and are interested in seeing Ms. Moore’s final ranking. She has performed well."

"Ms. Moore, are you ready?"

The vampire smirked and nodded.

"Mr. Rask, are you ready?"

"Let’s do this!"

"3-2-1 BEGIN"

’Use ice wall and inspect Taylor.’

A giant wall of ice formed in front of Tyler but he was disappointed by the next message.

[Error. Cannot inspect. Incoming charm detected. Would you like to block the ability?]

’Yes. Drop the wall and aim for her feet.’

[You know you don’t have to give me every little detail you can fight freely.]

"Stop relying on that damned thing so much. The audacity of this woman trying to charm you!" Vivian laughed sarcastically.

"Ritsu, please act as my clone."

"Smart thinking. I like it." Ritsu said while appearing as an exact replica as Tyler, staff included.

"What the hell?" Taylor yelled as her eyes darted from the left to the right. She didn’t know which one was real.

"Copy me as best you can. Let’s focus on distracting her so I can land something. She’s shaking off ice like it’s nothing, she’s tough!"

Ritsu was slightly slower than Tyler but the new barrage of fire attacks from two Tylers caused his opponent to go on the defensive. Confused as to why her charms didn’t work, she was trying to devise a new strategy. It worked so well her first four matches she didn’t think she’d need a back up plan.

"Full link with Ash, I think I have the eyesight figured out. Ritsu you good?"

"Never better, this is fun!"

Both of his shirts ripped off and the class gasped. The once super skinny summoner now had muscle on him, still not as bulky as Adam but he definitely had a new six pack and looked like a very fit runner.

They both flew around from above and the vampire poured out blood from a flask she carried to cover herself with walls using blood techniques. Tyler didn’t stop and wished he drank a mana potion or had one with him.

[You are running low on mana. I’d advise finishing this quickly.]

"Ritsu, when I dive bomb her, come back inside me. Ash, when that happens, fly out and use a pressurized blast. That should knock the blood away for a clean strike."

"Let’s go!" Ash was excited.

Tyler and Ritsu flew from the ceiling at an incredible rate and the merge caused Taylor to panic. She threw up a giant blood wall that Ash burned away. He was too strong though and it knocked her over, burning her badly in the process. She fell over, still burning and clearly unconscious.

’Shit.’ Tyler frowned as he used his wings to pull back as hard as he could.

"Match, Mr. Rask!" The Professor said before sprinting over to her. "You went a little overboard but will not face a penalty."

The crowd was quiet as they watched Tyler use the last of his mana to heal his opponent before he passed out.

Taylor opened her eyes and smiled at her passed out opponent.

"Did I win?!"
