Live-in Son-in-law

Chapter 1703: Beaten Like a Dog

Qin Yi burst out of the storm, shadowing the backward-flying Heng Li, and swung a vicious kick straight at his face.

Heng Li was beside himself with rage, his old face twisted, hideous and terrifying.

Just now, Qin Yi’s kick hadn’t landed on the back of his head, but on his shoulder instead.

Even so, for Heng Li, this was a humiliation carved into his bones.

He stabilized himself mid-flight, terrifying black Qi condensing in his palm. With a lift of his hand, he slapped, and a sword of condensed black Qi shot toward Qin Yi like a bolt.

"Pff!"

The black sword flashed across the air like a streak of black lightning, vanishing in an instant as it directly pierced through Qin Yi’s body.

Heng Li’s face split into a vicious grin of satisfaction.

"Did you really think a sneak attack would catch this old man off guard and let you escape death?"

Heng Li roared loudly. He was trying to claw back his lost dignity, to let everyone know that he didn’t lose to Qin Yi in strength—he was just careless, didn’t dodge, Qin Yi didn’t play fair, ambushed him, caught him off guard, and that was the only reason he was sent flying twice.

"Netherworld General, aren’t you being a bit hasty? Celebrating a little too early?"

A Star Ring appeared behind Heng Li. The Qin Yi whose body had been pierced suddenly burst out from the Star Ring, without any wasted motion, swinging another kick toward the back of Heng Li’s head.

Qin Yi was very persistent, as if he wouldn’t rest until he planted a kick on Heng Li’s skull.

The moment Qin Yi appeared, everyone present was dumbstruck, eyes wide, jaws hanging.

The feral grin on Heng Li’s face froze, unsurprisingly. By the time he reacted, it was already too late.

"Bang!"

A big foot smashed hard into the back of his head.

Heng Li let out a miserable scream, feeling like his head was going to explode from that kick. The terrifying force sent blood spurting from his mouth and nose, his vision went black, and he tumbled as he was hurled sideways.

Strike while he’s down, take his life—how could Qin Yi possibly let such a great opportunity slip by?

His body streaked like flowing light, sticking close like a shadow.

"Bang!"

Another heavy stomp crashed down onto the flipping Heng Li, the sound of bones shattering making everyone around shudder.

Heng Li shot toward the ground like a cannonball.

"Bang!"

The ground was smashed into a huge pit, dirt and stone blasting tens of meters into the air, the surrounding earth spiderwebbed with cracks.

The scene fell deathly silent.

Everyone had their mouths hanging open, dead-fish eyes bulging, like carved stone and painted wood.

This was a peak Transcendance Tribulation Stage powerhouse—yet right now he was being beaten like a stray dog.

Especially Dugu Ao, whose body was trembling slightly, his blood running cold. Only now did he realize that the reason he’d managed to trade eleven moves with Qin Yi wasn’t because he was strong—it was because Qin Yi had never taken him seriously at all, just toying with him.

If Qin Yi had wanted to, he probably couldn’t have lasted a single move before being instantly killed.

Thinking of this, Dugu Ao couldn’t stay arrogant anymore, shrinking like a frightened quail, his body suddenly shaking violently, his eyes filled with fear.

Qin Yi lowered his head, looking down from above at Heng Li below.

Heng Li’s whole body was buried under rubble, only a pair of dry, skinny old legs sticking out, pants hanging around his ankles. Like this... he looked like he’d just been gang-raped.

Everyone stared below, wondering if Heng Li had been beaten cripple.

But Qin Yi knew: if a peak Transcendance Tribulation Stage powerhouse could die that easily, then this Realm would be far too weak.

Qin Yi formed a Sealing with one hand, and the Void trembled.

A Sky-reaching Giant Blade over ten zhang long appeared in midair, swaying as if it might fall.

The God Slaying Blade.

Qin Yi raised his hand and slashed down from the sky.

The wavering God Slaying Blade seemed to be endowed with life, carrying an aura of annihilation as it chopped down toward Heng Li on the ground.

"Bang!"

Dirt and stone exploded as Heng Li sprang out like a mad dog, leaping hundreds of meters away.

"Boom!"

The God Slaying Blade hacked into the ground, carving out a trench over ten zhang long, its might terrifying to the extreme.

The Qi Refiners present were all trembling in their hearts, each wondering what would happen if that blade fell on them. After thinking it through, there was only one conclusion: a dead end, body and Dao both destroyed, no other possibilities.

Heng Li’s old face was twisted, streaked with blood. His chest was caved in—that was from Qin Yi’s kick earlier. His pants hung around his ankles, his hair uneven and sticking up like a chicken nest, his whole person as wretched as a mud-splattered cur.

He lifted his head, looking at Qin Yi, eyes flickering with a chilling cold light.

When experts exchange blows, a single misstep and the whole game collapses.

Though he hadn’t lost yet, today he’d been disgraced to his ancestor’s grave. In the future, as a Netherworld General under the God Slaying Netherworld King, his name would definitely spread far and wide—but it would be infamous, making him the butt of everyone’s jokes.

He hated Qin Yi to the bone, wishing he could eat his flesh, drink his blood, and grind his bones into dust.

At the same time, a trace of fear rose in his heart—something he’d never felt before. Qin Yi’s combat strength far exceeded his imagination.

A flash of light in Heng Li’s hand, and a small white porcelain bottle appeared. He opened it and swallowed a pitch-black Elixir.

Surging black Qi roamed around his body, his bones cracking audibly, his caved-in chest slowly restoring itself.

In no time at all, his injuries were completely healed.

Qin Yi wasn’t surprised. Ordinary Transcendance Tribulation Stage experts were already extremely hard to kill, let alone a peak Transcendance Tribulation Stage powerhouse.

"Bang!"

The ground exploded, and within several dozen meters around Heng Li, the earth cracked into a spiderweb.

He was venting his rage in this way.

He pulled up his pants and shot straight into the air, stopping several dozen zhang away from Qin Yi, eyes locked tightly onto him.

"This old man admits I underestimated you."

Qin Yi’s expression was indifferent as he said slowly, "And I realize I overestimated you."

"Qin Yi, you’re celebrating too early. Do you really think this old man is only capable of this?"

Qin Yi chuckled lightly. "I admit, you’re strong—but... only just strong."

Strong doesn’t mean invincible.

"Qin Yi, at your age to have such terrifying combat power—if you’re allowed to grow unchecked, it will definitely be a calamity for the Netherworld Clan. So this old man will not make the mistake of releasing a tiger back to the mountain only to be mauled later."

As Heng Li spoke, the aura around him grew extremely terrifying, and he began muttering under his breath.

Clusters of black mist appeared, churning around Heng Li.

When the black mist dispersed, figure after figure emerged.

Eight in total. The eight of them had dull eyes, vacant gazes, looking like drooling idiots.

Heng Li had summoned his Puppets—eight of them.

These eight, though they looked brain-dead, possessed terrifying auras. Several among them were even stronger than Dugu Ao. In other words, the weakest of the eight had Cultivation at the eighth rank of the Transcendance Tribulation Stage, and several were Ninth Rank.

The Qi Refiners present all felt a chill in their hearts.

So many powerhouses, their momentum soaring—it was overwhelmingly intimidating.

Looked like Heng Li was dead set on killing Qin Yi.

With Heng Li himself, plus the eight Puppets, plus Dugu Ao’s people, and ten Netherworld Envoys, this force was enough to sweep aside a top-tier sect.

Qin Yi’s expression remained calm, but inwardly he didn’t dare relax in the slightest. Even a lion uses its full strength to hunt a rabbit. When facing enemies, Qin Yi never acted arrogant or complacent—he’d already capsized in the gutter once before. So no matter whether his opponents were strong or weak, he never underestimated them.
